JTH's Account Talk

I don't think Priolec is necessarily bad, I think the preference was to be on as few medications as possible.

Alright, time to shake the dust off and quit feeling sorry for my lack of performance this month. My current belief is that 18 Jul will be the low this month, if we test those levels again I want to see buyers step in and create a tradeable range vs a lower swing low. I'm looking for a greater than 50% close above the 5E wave around 709 for confirmation the bulls have enough momentum to break above the 5E wave. I saw today's action as bullish with the major indexes not penetrating a 50% nor closing below a 25% retracement off the 18 Jul low. I don't think I'll get the entry I want but I do think I will take an entry in the next 4 days.

Agree 100%!! I used Prilosec for a while for GERD that was really affecting my sleepbased on doctor's advice. But found later that raw unpasteurized apple cider vinegar worked equally as well -- actually, better in my view since it was way cheaper and wasn't a pharmaceutical. Year and a half later, GERD's still gone. Try 2 Tbsp in a 16 oz glass of water at night an hour or so after dinner. I did it every night at first but now drink it about 2-4 times a week -- sans honey. Seems unlikely, I know, but it actually doesn't taste half bad once you've tried it a few times. Even better, it's filling and results in less night-time snacking. Plus when you think about it, Prilosec reduces acid production, but our bodies produce acid for a reason don't they -- so why would I want to rouytinely reduce it?!

Thanks again for your charts and analysis. I can sympathize with your feelings. I'm not satisfied at all with my less 2 percent YTD performance. I've been very cautious because of the macro economic issues. I took a chance and went 100% S Fund yesterday hoping that I can squeeze out a small gain the next 10 days. Feels like I'm chasing the trend but thought that there may not be a better entry point soon.

i only take about a tablesooon full, i swig from a honey bear container whenever i feel a little heartburn,it does wonders very quickly... they say vinegar is good for alot of other things as well. try it. it takes a little getting used to at first, but it does the job. i have been using it for over 5 years now. sometimes i just take it for "GP".

Two thanks

Thanks for all the helful advice on heart burn, I did some reading last night and thought some things to be very interesting. I would like to dwindle down the number of meds I take. I'm currently at 6.

As for my frustrations with the AT, thanks for letting me vent, losing out on that 2% pop really pissed me off. To top if off I got stopped out for a lose on RAD, that was my first losing position in over a year, right after the stop got hit, the stock shot up quickly...

I have been struggling with tight stops. I feel your pain. How do you determine your stop price?

I personally never use stops because you can easily be forced to give up a nice position - why pay the sacrifice for someone else's foolish selling.

Anybody trade index ETF's in an IRA? I have gone up 6% with UPRO since Wedenesday. Take a look if you don't mind the risk. It goes up 3x as much as the S&P 500. Conversely, it also falls 3x as fast:mad:. I go back and forth between UPRO and SPXU (shorting the S&P 500). I use sentiment survey to pick my entry and exit points. Works fairly well so far.

You ever tried to put 100 or more transactions on a schedule D? It ain't no fun.

I would not mess with acid reflux in a holistic way - the damage to the esophagus can be life endangering. Who wants a transplant anyway.

some in here are playing TNA/TZA FAS/FAZ

I do both, depending on what I feel. TNA/TZA or UPRO/SPXU

I only invest less than 50% at one time, so that I can cover a sell that is less than 3 days old, and then I don't have to worry about "Free Ride" issuses. I hate that Free Ride restriction. It's like limiting the number of IFT's in my TSP:mad:.

Here comes the lecture for you youngsters who like to spin their wheels. Men who can be both right and sit tight are uncommon. I found it one of the hardest things to learn. But it is only after a speculator has firmly grasped this than he can make big money.

True, but since you have been investing for over 30 years, you have the money to keep investing. I need to get to that point as I only have 15 years left. I feel trading is the only way. Once I get to a comfort point, I will probably become an investor.
