Re: Signal

Hi Ken,

Not quite sure about the system that you use. I have just been trying to catch up by reading the different blogs. I do know that allot of people right now are probably sitting on the side lines (i.e. safely in the G-Fund). As of yesterday I decided to go S-80% and I-20% from my initial position of G-50%, S-40% and I-10%. So hopefully I can make a few %or more this month then get out.

Re: Signal

Wonder what we have in store for us next week....it appears the market is following the historical path a little more for the month of April you think?

Because April is an earnings reporting month, there seems to be a stronger pattern, so I agree. But only during strong holiday biases do I use seasonality as a primary indicator - unless, like we saw in march, it's undeniably following the pattern.

Did I contradict myself enough in that paragraph? :)

Um, I'm confused. Are you saying if we have strong earnings this week, coupled with historically bullish seasonality, we should go up?

Tom knows more about seasonality, historical trends etc. than I do, so I'll yield to him.

Maybe. :) Seasonality is strong this week of the year probably because of earnings season. So if earnings aren't bad this year...

I'll keep my fingers crossed also....just thought there would be a secondary ride to the top or close until a major correction took place. I believe others on this blog are anticipating a good correction coming up here shortly.

i believe we are in the correction now. it seems to be taking three steps back and one step foward for a little more then a week. Consolidating? or correction? call it what you will but this month so far has been negative in the CSI. 2-4% negative and i believe people dont call it a correction until it goes 5-10% negative.

I think you might be right. I just hope it ends soon.

Re: Signal

Possible a good day today. Stock futures are up....I was hoping for some better than expected earnings this month.

I made a mistake in my input last night and my system flipped to a sell for 4/19/12. So I will be in the G fund at COB today.
