Re: Signal

I just want to put this out for anyone that is utilizing my system. I post my signal for information only. I am not advocating that anyone follow it. You should make your own choices. I have backtested it to 2001 and it averaged around 23% per year for the S&P 500. If it will continue to perform like that I will be more than pleased.

Re: Signal

The only problem with a 7% stop on a 3x investment is, there is a good chance that could get hit inrtraday, stop you out, and recover all in the the course of a day, or couple of days.

I agree 100%. But that is a 7/3 = 2.3% intraday drop of the W4500, which does not happen very often.

Re: Signal

Today sucked for all invested that's for sure...especially since yesterday sucked as well.

At least Alcoa just released positive news that their earnings were better than expected. After hours trading is up over 5.5% for them now. I hold 20 whole shares of Alcoa and I am down quite a bit since I bought those 20 stocks prior to me knowing anything about stops. That is fine...I'll hold onto them and see what the future (years) brings. Maybe I will make a buck lol.
I own 10 shares of AA. The biggest gainers in my portfolio started 8 months ago are ODP, AMD, and WFC, PEIX (27.76%, 38.42%, 39.73%, 119.69%). Who would have thought.....

Re: Signal

Yeah I'm wishing I would have bought it at the close, but with how the last two days turned out I didn't know how today was going to be.

I still consider myself new so I probably will be messing with something I shouldn't lol, but I see what kind of quick return it can give and I've also seen what it can take away quickly. The hard part is riding stocks through closing hours and not selling prior to the close because what happens overnight you cannot do anything about.

I may hold off...we shall see.

So did you buy in this morning?

I haven't so far...just watching the screen on my optionstrade account. It's amazing seeing it update rapidly every second lol. I could just stare at the screen all day watching the changes. What you said makes me wonder if the overnight trading caused it to already reach its peak for the day. I'd hate to buy in high and tomrorow turn into an ugly day again. I know there are some in TNA that have felt a lot of pain in TNA over the last few days and I believe RMI is one of them. This seems to be a good buying point, but is the market's correction over....? That is the key question here.

Everybody on the site wants to know the answer to that question!

I wish I knew...TNA was slowly trickling down and then it popped back up. I think watching this all day would actually make me go crazy.

Hmm...decisions, decisions...

Re: Signal

I'm not specifically utilizing your system. I'm in on my own volition but, FWIW, I sure am glad to see your system is currently agreeing with me!

Hi ken,

Newbie here just trying to enhance my journeyman's knowledge of moving in and out of the markets. After reading and following some of the posts here I decided to go all in and hope the market rewards me favorably.

Hi Ron,

Thanks for reading the thread. There is some negative news out concerning jobless claims so the market may drop today and provide a good entry point for you. However, a lot of other systems are in the G fund. My system is not for the faint of heart - drawdowns of 5% are possible, so make sure you can tolerate that before you jump in, if you are planning on following my system.
