Jkenjohnson's Account Talk

System is up 12.8% after today's (1/5/12) close.
Wow that was quick. I didn't think those figures would be available yet. When I look them up here on TSPtalk or on tsp.gov they aren't usually available until later in the evening. Is there someplace else where we can get these figures sooner?

The S fund is about the same as DWCPF (Dow Jones Index Fund). You can get a quote on it anytime during the day and you will know how the S fund is performing.

Ah, that explains it. I only use those for rough estimates as the actual values are different. The ones for the C & S funds aren't bad but those for F & I can be way off.

Re: Signal

Quick question. On the day you get a sale and the market loses that day. Is that a loss under the last buy or is it a loss agreeing with your system because the syatem called it in the morning even if we can't get out untill 4 Eastern?

Bquat, I think I know where you are going with this but could you clarify your question better.

I'm trying to guess if his timeframe of his gains go with the signal or after the IFT is in effect after recieving the signal. Ie: your in a buy and you get a sale signal and that afternoon the market drops. So there is a loss that day but is it not considered because because the sale signal was already given. We show the loss because of the IFT deadline is end of day. I guess if I check his tracker return I could check this.

Re: Signal

System is up 13.3% since Octber 7.
System is up 2.2% for the year.
This is what I'm guessing. It's is tacken at the signal not the IFT.

I'm not trying to knock the system. It will probably knock my socks off but it needs to be tracked in the tracker using our IFT limits or it will not truely reflect the gains in our enviroment. Just a heads up.

I am not using the system just for my TSP, so at the end of each day I calculate the gain or loss and post it, regardless of the number of IFT's that I have. I don't know if the Premium services post their returns based on the number of IFTS or not.

The most important point is, if I would have followed the system since October 7, I would be up over 12% and not up 1% or whatever I am. If you follow me on the tracker jkenjohnson you will get the returns based on limited IFT's because I began using the system January 1 and will continue to do so unless it fails me for some reason.

Just FYI, if you would have bought and held since OCt 7, you would have made more.

Ok, got you that's what I thought. Just wanted others to realize that the IFT limit would hurt it's effect and I thank you for helping others.

The limit will hurt the effect. I am at .44% for the year because I could not get in on the second buy signal in December because I was out of IFT's. Otherwise I would be up 2.2%. But that has only happened once.
