There are times when government mail servers aren't working as advertised. During those time I'd like a personal phone call... :D

Ok seriously, how about a backup plan like Facebook updates, where only your subscribers can see your updates? I really have no clue what's going on here, I'm just rubber-necking...

I even checked my spam box and there was no signal as late as 1200. I figured it out eventually myself and was all set to jump to I when Firefox crashed on me at 1159. Yes I kid you not and this has happened to me twice though I squeaked in at the last second last time. This newest edition really SUX. I guess I will wait till tomorrow now. My email alert cleared yahoo and did hit my box at exactly 1300 on the nose. That seems odd being so exact. Ah well this is not an exact science, more of a poker game so all you can do is suck it up and wait.:p
Are any of you guys having crash problems with Firefox? I have used them for 10 plus years and no problems before this.

Looks like the signal was sent at 10:19 and it showed up in my Gov mailbox at 11:55 am and my yahoo account at 10:19 but, I couldn't access it because the servers were busy here at work. Guess everyone was on facebook during lunch.

My question was serious, and certainly not intended to imply an expectation of personal notification. I am mindful that you once said a loss is only incurred when you sell, at that time you were holding off selling longer than you wanted to.

For notification, emails, like cellphone voicemails, can show up anytime. Servers are in control. Mine now has a time of 1154, although received on my pc after. For a notification that apparently goes into a minutes-are-important drill, I assumed the most reliable place to continually check for a notice (that your original posting had changed) was your premium page, although it appears to suffer when there's a burst of concurrent reads. Even for those able to be on the internet before noon consistently, some allowance needs to be made for this problem with the timing of "signals" when they are "close". Your early alert to the possibility of a change is appreciated and essential. I hope this is received as constructive.
 
you might consider a secured webpage with member id's of your own.
That way you could just edit your content and show your move.
With a little codework, you could probably set up a text or email based secondary notice through an admin page at the same time that use your current services.

I also would like a text message based alert.
 
IT I know you don't live far from me, I'm over here in Universal city, screw the emails, text, facebook, Goodyear blimp, it would be nice if you'd just come over and make the IFT for me. :cheesy:
 
Tom has assured me the problem has been taken care of and shouldn't happen again. Personally, I'll have to make sure that Tom is getting my emails in timely fashion. Steps have been taken to assure this.

Warren, I apologize, I didn't see your earlier post. Looks like you posted it just as I was submitting another post. The premium page is still the most reliable place to get my signal change or a "no change today alert". An email alert will also be sent out about 11:15am ET when my commentary is updated with a signal change, or lack there of. If there is no update by 11:45am ET, there won't be one.

Today was just one of those "Murphy's Law" days. It's a high tech world and sometimes things go wrong. We are trying to minimize those days, even though they don't happen a lot in the first place. We are still in the free trial period...............

For those of you wanting more notice time of my signal changes, this service may not be for you because it's not going happen. I get my daily numbers at a very specific time of the day, to the minute. Six years of data analysis has proven this time to be the absolute best time to get my numbers. I will not jeopardize the integrity on my trading system by changing the time of day that I get my numbers. Sorry, I have too much riding on my own investments to do that. I don't work for the government anymore remember. I don't have anything else to fall back on...........

For this reason, and others, I'll only be offering a limited amount of subscriptions once my service goes to "pay for view". I don't want to jeopardize the integrity of my strategies not only for me, but for my subscribers also. I don't want to risk having X amount of people trying to make IFT's at the same time and locking up the TSP computers or whatever. Once we see everything is running smoothly, perhaps we can open it up to more. Perhaps this is part of the reason for some other services not doing so well after going to a premium service, I don't know. I just want to be cautious. I'm not risk taker or a risky trader, even though that sounds like oxymoron.............;)

Please don't ask what time of the day I get my numbers, that's part of the "proprietary information"................:)

The text thing is something that would have to be brought to Tom's attention. Sounds like a good idea to me, but I don't know.............

This probably what I would recommend. A lot of times, one day doesn't make a whole lot of difference. Sometimes it does though. Lately it hasn't because we continue to climb in the markets. Last spring, one day could make a major difference. It all depends..........we'll have to wait and see what tomorrow brings. I really don't think a big drop will happen until Friday or Monday, if at all. It might even go up tomorrow a bit more as the average Joe gets home and see that we had a nice up day and puts in a buy order thinking they are missing the train..............

Lots of systems are still on buy mode also. I'll be hoping for a flat day for all the people that missed the signal and wanted to get out also......:)
 
Universal City TX?? IT where do you live? I live in Cibolo, next to Schertz. I definately will buy you a cold drink of your choice if you ever want one. One thing scared me, "Limited Number" of sign ups. Put me down now, Ill pay the annual, monthly, bi-weekly, whatever you require. In the long run Ill give up a burger a week for the potential of actually retiring when Im 50! Thanks again it will all work out in the long run it always does. May all your arrows be green!

I'm IN!! That was a SWEET recovery in the I Fund today. I got in the I Fund 1 day late (thank goodness) but unfortunately I received late (via email lag) the notification to move to F today and didn't get my transfer in by noon so I'll be holding my breath tomorrow in the I Fund.

Good news though, the nice lady at the TSP said I could request and interfund transfer between Intrepid_Traders account and mine!!
