Intrepid_Timer's PUBLIC Account Talk

In all truth id rather be in equaties waving bye bye to where I really am?

Not jumping on a boat that's liable to develop leaks anytime soon. Such is hope of those stuck in the Garage during these low volume rallies

However I can rejoice my dough isnt in aparticular place it might have been.

Bonds.

I agree. With my newly implanted strategy for the F fund, I stayed out also. Before coming up with it, I may of been sitting in bonds also as of the 2nd.............

Hi all, just wanted to give a quick update. My signals have been flip flopping from buy to sell on a daily basis. This hasn't happened since I installed some adjustments to it in the spring. I'm assuming this is all about the "climbing the wall of worry" people talk about. It also probably has something to do with QE2, Obama and Santa Clause.........who knows. I got a buy signal on the 8th but chose to wait a day because my last few signals were a day early. Well guess what, the following day my signals were flashing sell. Today my signals are flashing "buy' again............

With my TSP, I'm sitting in the G fund and I wasn't planning on moving with my first signal of the month anyway. I normally get 2-3 buy signals a month. My goal is to be in a position around the end of the month to be able to buy into equities because a lot times we get a pop at the beginning of the year and I would like to try to catch it. This is not always the case though so I may be losing out on a chase to make a little more profit this year. I've accomplished my main goal of making over 24% every year with TSP so I'm satisfied and safety isn't a bad thing at this point.

With my ETF and mutual fund signals, well, I haven't done as well as I expected. The signal I missed on Nov 1st while working on the golf course cost me dearly. My goal is to make at least 50% every year but doesn't look like it will happen this year. That's okay though. Since implementing my adjustments in the spring, my ETF and mutual trading have done quite nicely. Like I said earlier, if not for human error on Nov 1st, my goal would been more than accomplished also.

I'm currently sitting in Faz and am losing on that trade. I keep hoping for a market down day so I can sell it but it hasn't happened yet. If that day comes soon, I'll sell it and sit in cash until my next signal change. Otherwise, I might hold it and wait for my system to switch back to a sell signal. This might come Monday or Tuesday.

Life, laugh and love!

Today I went with the TSP sentiment survey and bought... well I actually hit the button BEFORE I knew the survey results for next week but same difference. I tink. I have been in the - and not the + since oh...May or June? Would at least like to see the light of day before we all go back to naught
for the new year.

You got the idea though. If you can get 2% a month you got gravy and anything else is whipped cream on the gravy - : P

Today I went with the TSP sentiment survey and bought...
I should probably change the neutral result weeks to "Hold" instead of posting it as a buy. As you probably know, an actual buy signal is when we see 1.25 to 1 or lower.

Might not be a bad idea, especially if someone didn't see the previous weeks result. BTW Tom, I know the sentiment survey system is a weekly system, does it typically give 2 buy signals a month or just one?

It doesnt matter anyway - my doom is set and with the market going like it is maybe we will just keep going up the Moon.

And IF it falls I will be in Good company with all the other 100%ers. Although THEY have probably gotten over 8% since the beginning
of the month while I languished.

Getting that sell equities signal today. Hopefully I can make some money back now on my Faz. I'm also moving to 100% F fund in TSP.

BTW, I didn't send out on email with this move. Still working on my F fund strategy and backtesting the results. From what I have so far, looks like a good time to enter it....................

I don't get the impression bonds are ready to bounce. Money market and treasuries are seeing an influx again as inflationary pressures may be beginning to appear, which isn't a good thing for either bonds or equities. Too early to know for sure though.

Well, it started out good, but it's going down with the equities........what the heck.............:(

If the past Fed pumps are any indication, & after the market digests the BP legalese, I expect this liquidity will immediately be put to work....

IT,

I'm reconsidering my suggestion of you reconsidering your strategy of not making an IFT in between your signals. Looks like it worked out for the best again. 'You have the patience of a saint' as dear ol' mom used to say.
