fabijo's account talk

I bought my wife a garnet bracelet that somewhat matches the ruby ring until you get in the sunlight and the garnets turn brown. I could never afford a quality ruby bracelet unless they were all lab grown pinks and that just wouldn't do. I bought her two very nice pearls for her ears and now I'm commited to a necklace to match - that'll cost a small car.
Sorry Fab--I will post my reply to Birch in his acct.

I really believe that fabijo would regard our jewelry conversation as a learning experience for him.

You know it, Birch! :D

I'm not bothered at all by these discussions. I just started talking to my wife about these rubies you all are talking about. She admitted a deep love for very dark red rubies. Looks like I have something to think about next time I want to surprise her for her birthday. :)

I'm honored to have guests all the time, no matter what the topic turns out to be.

I did post my reply in Birch's acct...Did'nt mean to leave you out. Guess I should have awaited your response. If Birch wants to continue our conversation, I'll see you at his place.
:)

Once again.... Look at that angle of ascent!

I started collecting over 30 years ago. Can't find too much quality anything these days without spending a fortune. I have several ruby's,some set in jewelry and some not. I like the rare and exotoic(sp). Ones that most people have never heard of and are not sold in jewelry stores. I used to joke, that if nothing else, I could always trade them for food, not too funny anymore.

WV Girl,
First - it's great seeing you back!

My collections over the years are more based on fine China and valuable vases, paintings and antiques. Now my China cabinets are filled and overflowing with tea cups and saucers worth thousands; place settings going for thousands; lamps and vases, pictures and ornaments that only get more and more valuable over the years.

The funny thing is WHEN I ACQUIRED THEM - I THOUGHT WHAT AN INCREDIBLE INVESTMENT (similar to my home) but over the years my attachment (and my family's attachment) have made them like BALLS AND CHAINS. We are captive to their beauty and way to attached to let them go - regardless of their worth.

Deep down inside I'd love to walk away from it all and start over without all the attachments...maybe someday...

Hi Steady,
Thanks for the welcome.
I suppose for me my collection is a form of security as well as loving my hobby. I am like others on the MB, who came from a very poor family and managed to climb my way up the ladder, feel a sense of accomplishment in whatever their endeavors are. While it would probably break my heart to part with some of them, their original intent was to help supplement me in my older years. I am not there yet(age wise), but if push comes to shove, (and I am doing everything in my power to prevent that by being prepared for the worst) then I would have to part with them.

I wanted to say thank you for making each one of us on this MB feel special. Even tho many people will read this post it feels like it is just the two of us talking. And that is what people remember. You ARE very good at what you do. ;)

Thank you my adorable and wonderful friend.

You do everybit for me - whatever I could do for you and I sincerely appreciate these beautiful words and all the more the expression they carry. The bonds I've developed on this MB are a constant source of love and strength - it's like a shower that never ends - these incredibly marvelous vibes going through me - filling me - and allowing me to shower others.

I am good at what I do because 90% of my work is "making the connection" - developing the bonds and connecting with patients on a level that I truely identify with what they feel and how they live. That requires a heart that stretches as much as it can and a mind that is totally open, accepting, and receiving. Once that "connection" is made the rest is amazingly easy.

Thank you - you have my deepest love and admiration.

Fabijo: It is very fitting that such a blessing would occur in your home. PTL for He is perfect and every good and perfect blessing comes from Him.

There you go again. Even while putting all your effort into praising and encouraging a person, you still have room to add more people to your words of encouragement. Thanks. :)

You know, with everyone I know saying that this bill will be the ruin of us and that it won't fix the problem...

We may have just started the next leg of the huge bull market.

I think seeing our "Honey Pie" on TV tonight will help spark everyone.

With those good feelings, along with the general sense a "winning package" will save the Economy - things should be good.
