fabijo's account talk

Just as quickly as these pains come, the market makes a pop to hurt the wound of those who jump out after the pain. I congratulate those who can time those drops! Awesome job.

I wonder if today is one of those days.

Man, I am salivating at what could have been had I known the future. Wouldn't it be great to have gotten in the I yesterday?

I really don't need to travel in time, I only want to see the future. Scientists have been able to teleport photons. Does that mean they can also have photons travel through time, since they've been able to ignore space? If so, how do we get the photons to travel to tomorrow's paper then reflect back to today?? I'm not really asking all that much!! :D

I whole-heartedly agree with this!! :D

We could also get inside the decison-making process of our country's national enemies to foil their plans of aggression...:) Let's keep working on this idea.

Okay, monkeys. Let's see if your early call on the I fund was really worth it. Asia is doing great tonight so far. Come on, melt up. Just a tiny melt up will do, thank you.

ASIA MARKETS
Japan, Hong Kong lead Asia higher
By MarketWatch
Last Update: 1:20 AM ET May 14, 2007

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) --Stocks in Hong Kong, Japan and much of the rest of Asia rose Monday, shaking off the effects of Friday's regionwide losses, as encouraging U.S. economic news led to strong gains in such Japanese exporters as Toyota Motor Corp. and Nissan Motor Co., while loosened mainland banking restrictions sent Hong Kong stocks soaring.

Well, asia soared, but not much happened anywhere else today. At least the I fund managed to gain 4 pennies! I just took a look at Rokid's tracker. Looks like the C Fund passed me after I took that nice hit by jumping to the I Fund. All I need is a good boost in the internationals before I fly back to the U.S. markets.

I'm still waiting for the photon space/time traveler. ChemEng, is that your realm? Maybe we need someone named QuantumPhysicsEngineer to join the boards.

Okay, maybe I won't wait. Trading is supposed to be unemotional, like my monkeys. Turns out I was wrong about those little guys. I just put in the numbers from the past week. Looks like they've been asking to go to the S Fund since Thursday. Good thing I didn't listen!! That's when we were slammed with a crazy -FV on the I Fund. Sometimes I need to remember that I am a monkey being watched over. :)

Well, in accordance with the monkeys, I'm going to the S Fund cob tomorrow. How will the dollar fair tomorrow and the next day? It's anybody's guess.

Looks like we're all concerned with Barclay's methods for calculating an FV. I just spent way too much time trying to research for some form of a prospectus that includes their methods. According to the Thrift Investment Board, the names of the funds are:

Barclay's EAFE Index Fund "E" - I Fund
Barclay's Extended Market Index Fund "E" - S Fund
Barclay's Equity Index Fund "E" - C Fund
Barclay's U.S. Debt Index Fund "E" - F Fund

Browsing around Barclay's Global website ( http://www.barclaysglobal.com ), I was able to find similarly named funds, except they were mostly "F" instead of "E". There really is no information on the funds except for a brief description. However, I did find the "E" Fund for the Equity Index (C Fund). When I clicked on that, it told me to contact Barclay's to get info on that fund. Since they said it, I made a nice, descriptive request. I asked them for a prospectus for each of the funds, along with their calculation methods for each day's price. I justified my request by saying that I am invested in these funds, so I would like a deeper grasp on my investments.

Well, now that I talked your eyes off, just keep hoping that they actually give me the goods! Wouldn't that be a prize to have? :D

Excellent job Fabijo and thank you. Can't wait to find out what you learn. Please keep us informed.

Thanks merlin and Remo. Let's see if I get redirected to the Thrift Investment Board or something.

Is it selfish to pray for a +FV today??

EWM (Malaysia iShares) - up 1.8%
EWS (Singapore iShares) - up 1%
EWH (Hong Kong) - up 1%
EWU (United Kingdom) - up .55% from low

EFA is only up .4% from today's low. :(

I just got this email from Barclay's:

Hello Fabio,

Thank you for your inquiry. You reached the Client Reporting Group here
at Barclays Global Investors. We primarily assist at the client level
rather than individual investors (like yourself). So, I would suggest
contacting your retirement plan administrator or the HR group at the
FAA. They should be able to provide you with the information you
requested.

Thank you,
Mark Christy

:D It was worth a try! Now I got a taste, I'll keep trying. Next stop... Thrift Investment Board.

As Spongebob squarepants would say, "Goodluck withat"
Sending positive thoughts your way. Also, what's the status on the future reading proton generating accelerator? :D

That's photon! :)
I may be losing neurons if I keep trying to figure out this FV thing.

Hey doesn't that have something to do with quarks?? What the hell are quarks??

Keep those synaptic gaps firing. ;) That's how you make money.
