F Fund

Nnuut, anyone,

I don't get the F Fund, seems like same scam as the "I"-Fund _Yesterday, Thurday, _up (+.44%) - yet we get "0" cent gain?
__________________________________________________Today, Friday, Jan 4, _ up (+.24%) - yet only a 3 cent gain?

The Percentages sure don't seem to run anywhere close to the other funds, that's for sure!

Any idea or explanation you know of why?

AND by the way they do a carry over the rounding daily, say if the AGG is $.32 they may give you 3 cents 3x9 is $.27 cents the left over $.05 may count on the next day.:laugh:

Are your percentages from AGG?

If so, the closing percentage for Thursday was .27, and for today is was .21

God Bless:)

I track daily most of the percentages pertaining to the TSP funds, so you if ever need one just give me a yell!:cool:

Nnuut, AND Rod,
Both, Really appreciate your explanations. Rod, to your response, I think I understand. I actually use AGG, but I use use both SharpChats version, following:
http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=$AKG&p=D&yr=0&mn=9&dy=0&id=p55192775979
AND also, Yahoo's version (the one that provided on the TSPTalk website):
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=AGG&t=5d
- Supposedly both the same Index, but (as typical) they don't match perfect, but they're close & this is acceptable to me, either one.

What wasn't clear, and to Nnuut's reply, the percentages didn't seem to match the TSP pay-out, which IMO weren't coming anything close to the expected value. Actually, I'm still sittin' here in disbelief, no actually I am believing you and now understand - I just find that I'm dumb-struck/numb about is how TSP comes up with their numbers! -It is almost worse than the formula for the "I". Only our TSP Gov't "experts" could come up with something like this! :laugh:

So since I'm still 100F for Monday, by what you've said, I should expect a carry-over of maybe between $.03 to $.06 on Monday?? :laugh::laugh: I'm laughin' with ya buddy!

Thanks again, to you both, for your responses!

PS & BTW Nnuut, re: your predicament, Rod's advice was good.
Suggest you review "Uptrends AcctTalk" this morning, re: the M&A pattern -which is what technical analysis is calling for! -Examine which Fund will be the best performer, and maybe use that "A" bounce -just be careful-like Uptrend/technicals say: the expected "A"-bounce will be sweet, but quick & short!

Yes... that's why I will not jump in NOW in anticipation for that inevitable bounce.

If it's a healthy bounce, and it's prior to noon, I may IFT into (I) depending upon the dollar because Japan should react nicely to the bounce.

God Bless:)

Stop! You can not use "nnuut and rod" in the same sentence. It gives me the Beavis and Butthead giggles.

Yeah I know about the "A" bounce that could happen, with the -FV yesterday that could show really pretty for the "I" Monday. You just never know? Yes watch the "F" they have done it plenty of times in the past. It really use to jack my jaws when I looked at the AGG and it indicated a gain and we didn't get it from TSP. They do average and repay.
Thanks, I'm a Big Boy and can take the pain!:D

An "A" bounce usually doesn't last long before a down turn so I will have my finger on the trigger if it happens.
Thanks NNUUTROD:laugh:

What gives? AGG shows up .50% and F Fund gets a -0.08% today!!! Did I miss something at the F Fund training academy? F Funders got ............... well you know.

TNX = .001
TYX = .019

F fund = -.05

I guess that is close enough for -1 cent.

I was thinking the SAME!

But then again, I suck at math.

350Z... please explain your conclusions!:D

I'm using AGG, which I gather by you obvious superior logic, ticker symbol, and math skills, is not very accurate at tracking the F Fund. :blink::nuts::D:laugh:

You guys missed my F fund calculator that I posted 6 or 7 months ago?:)

Just like the EFA, the AGG should not be used on a daily basis for the F fund.

350Z's F fund calculator:

TNX = 10 yr yield
TYX = 30 yr yield

Use the change in yields

(TNX+TYX)*.25 = F fund change in %

(.001+.019)*.25 = -.05%

No, I missed it. To many things going on and I was not as focused on the F Fund until it beat all the fund except the I fund.

Well done on all of your estimates. You are a huge asset to the mb. Thank you!

But when I calculate I get (.005) and not (.05).

What am I missing?:confused:

You're welcome Show-me.

And thanks for the kind words. I wish had your skills at picking funds though. I lost a bunch today.:(

Oops, I keep forgetting that. I use stockcharts so it's actually -(.01+.19)=-.05 or half a cent, it's not a %. Sorry.

And of course the - in front of the formula.
