Second, ElBaredei has demonstrated he is anti-Israel.
Whatever![]()
To this I would say all of us should join together and sing:
Kay Sara Sara...
...whatever will be will be
Zechariah 14
1Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. 2For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
This is somewhat reminiscent of the pro-Iranian thugs trying to break up resistance. I don't think these demonstrations mean much in the total scheme of things - they have spoken and now need to go home and back to work.

CAIRO – Thousands of supporters and opponents of President Hosni Mubarak battled in Cairo's main square Wednesday, raining stones, bottles and firebombs on each other in scenes of uncontrolled violence as soldiers stood by without intervening. Government backers galloped in on horses and camels, only to be dragged to the ground and beaten bloody.
That may have been the case a few days ago when that was probably the general consensus-
Now this:
All things considered it is amazing that all parties involved have maintained their composure as well as they have, the army in particular. Given time this whole thing may well work itself out quietly, as such things go. On the other hand in such things there are always parties which will want to set things off to further their own interests. Perhaps these pro Government demonstrators are just that. Surely there are more than a few "Fundamentalist" factions who would profit from a blood bath.

I believe if you trace the threads of history you find this over and over...
The French were upset about raising 'Retirement Age' -- the Government wins.
Greece was hugely upset about their situation and raised a big ruckus - the Government wins.
Iran - remember the elections - ...
all these things get squashed over time.
Call them whatever you will but on the whole they are 'Revelutionists' - demanding a Revelution.
Vietnam protestors --- same thing.

In essentially every situation I can think of 'The population at large' matters only to the extent that they 'conform' with their Government and how that Government views the Nation's best interest.

Multiple Nations - closer to Egypt - ban anything related to Egypt's termoil from their Media. So from our perspective we see Censoring at the most substantial levels.
This same Censoring dominated our own Media with the build up to the VN War and thousands of documents associated with it -- LEAST the whole population get upset and Demand an end.

To the largest degree --- we are seeing this type of activity becoming more common place throughout the WORLD as the corruption from the small elite in power obtain increasing wealth and greater control.
The 'JOY' for us in the USA - is that they are foreigners that have nothing to do with our everyday lives and to some degree - it becomes a source of entertainment.
When -- and if -- this kind of thing would ever happen in the USA -- it will be to the amusement and entertainment of all other Nations.

So Kay Sera Sera -- and I'm sorry if I sound calloused... seriously
But stuff like this happens and then it gets squashed and we forget it and something else happens.
Anyway -- goodnight all
Can this Egypt thing be considered a Civil WAR? What part should the USA play in a CIVIL WAR in another country?

Ancient artifacts are meaningless to the mohammadans. If it does not glorify the pederast megalomaniac then it should be destroyed.
Example: Taliban and the ancient Buddhas of Bamyan![]()
