Well boyz the deal is done. I received the magic personalized booklet from OPM today, money is out from the grasp of the TSP and life in retirement couldn't be better. Should have done this earlier. Still adjusting financially, but that's on my wife to make the proper adjustments.

I wish all of you, soon to retire, the very best. And to those of you a bit further from it, the time will go faster than you think.

Congrats, El Gallo ! Thanks for the "retirement story"...I'll be curious to see if my experiences with rolling over my TSP takes a similar path as yours, but I won't be doing that for a while yet.

No, I began drawing the adjudicated amount last month. It took 6 months total for the process to play out.

After deductions for Fed tax, Health Ins., and the survivor benifit reduction, I neted an additional $100 over and above the interium amount. My CA State tax will take up the lions share of that.

FYI..The amount refunded to me for the 20% reduced period, paid my Health Ins, and returned $800 net to moi.

Should have retired earlier. Anybody know what day it is???? :>)

Hey guys its been awhile since I visited. Howez everyone?

Things have settled down now that its been a year almost and life is good. Spent some time in the deer woods of Ohio recently and thought I share the results.

186" of bone and 250-300#. Not too shabby for an 8 pointer.

Hola Amigos its been awhile since I last visited, life is good, and yes I have adaped to retirement very well for the most part.

I have a question regarding tax forms in retirement.

How or when should I get my w2's related to my retirement annunity, I assume it comes from OPM.

Also, I had a non witheld on distribution from my TSP account because I elected to not pay off the remaining loan before I retired. Same question as above and I assume the 1099R comes from the TSP.

Anyone have any info to pass along in this regard.

Welcome back ElGallo, glad you are enjoying your retirement. You should get W2s etc. about the same time the Government employees get theirs, might be a little later this year due to the Debt Crisis and such.

You are correct. Should come anytime now. Tsp is pretty much on the ball. Opm may be slower.
