Hope you all had moments to reflect on all the persons who have given their lives in service to our country and for us. I spent a little time this afternoon going through some very old photos, showing them to my son, and remembering my great uncle Ray, who was my grandfather's only brother. He was killed in action while fighting to liberate Europe from the Nazis. He is buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
I have pictures of him and the back of one, showing him in uniform, says he was in Company I, 359th Infantry, 90th Division and that he died somewhere in France on September 27, 1944. Just reflecting on his sacrifice and that of so many others brings tears to my eyes. They truly made the ultimate sacrifice. Uncle Ray never married or had children. I wish I could have met him. God Bless You and Thank You Uncle.
