DreamboatAnnie's Account Talk

Vanessa Williams was the first African American crowned Miss America 1984, but a few months before the end of her reign she was forced to resign because of nude photos published by Pent House without her permission. Very sad I think. Of course there was so much more to the Miss America story and those photos. A few years ago, I think she was invited to host Miss America and received an apology.

She is so very beautiful and talented! She went on to have a successful singing career in the late 80s and well into the 90s.

sad indeed...penthouse photoshoot should disqualify you for a beauty contest....I'm glad they apologised after many years at least.

Lol.. no he did not fire her. That was another woman who gained 50 lbs during her time as Miss America. I really don't blame him for doing that. You win Miss America, being slender is part of the expectation and comes with the job description!!!

Its kinda like hiring a quarterback who then can't throw for whatever reason ... it no worky!!! :cheesy:

Also, as a side note, Vanessa Williams did not pose for Pent house. She posed for silhouette pics from an unscrupulous person when she was 19 and obviously very trusting. That guy sold them (un-silhouetted) to PentHouse without her permission after she became Miss America and they printed them. Playboy was offered the same pics and turned them down... just saying... shows a little integrity on Playboy's part. But she went through a very rough time with that plus being the first African American to win the title, there were a lot of persons (racist) who took shots at her and sent her hate mail, etc. just because of her skin color. I guess at that time, a person of color was not envisioned as "Miss America". I am glad she broke that barrier.

Well on to the markets! At this time looks like S fund is up a little more than 1/2 percent and C fund up .30%. Its a start!!! :D
S fund is so close to crossing below 50 EMA and if it does that.... move aside as I run for the exit!! C Fund seems positioned a bit better. Still..... Hoping that jobs report tomorrow hits it out of the ball park! We will see... staying in another day.

Best Wishes to Everyone on Your Investments!!!!!

S&P still hasn't taken out yesterday's open... one of the market analysis videos said to look for that, bearish if it didn't get there.

Okay... so I forgot I had a poker game tonight.. so just now looking at charts. I heard Charles Payne say he thinks market will do good. I think the same, question is when. He thinks the earnings season (quarterly) coming up will be great! I guess we will see.

Here are two links, presented by week... shows the number of companies that will report their earnings on each day. This Thursday J.P. Morgan. Humm.. Last week of April has tons. But some coming out each week. Next Tuesday Goldman Sachs, Bank of America... really starts to pick up the next week.

You know... I really want to get out! But for now I am going to hang. Waiting for an up day to exit but with these end of day large moves, it is tough to pick a spot. I didn't look at charts much last night. :(

So gotta make that tough decision on whether to stay and ride it down and buy with my other 50% when I think it has hit bottom, or exit and hope I can really time the bottom very well... .uggh. Until tomorrow mi amigos!!!!

Best wishes to everyone!!!!!!!!

So here we are again... same time. What to do? No up day? Well.. can't say it is a big surprise. MACD is negative and has been. Hope sometimes can get you in trouble. I had to change this post... I exit TODAY.

Best Wishes to Everyone on Your Investments!!!!!!!!

Changed back to my original thought... I fund 25% and F fund25%, 50% G. Done Deal! I did think to postpone until tomorrow, but I guess I just needed to pull the trigger and be done with it. Hoping the day turns up around closing time.

Hope you all have a Great Day! Best Wishes on Your Investments!!!!!!!!

More commentary on move. F Fund hit a high in February at 108.616. Per COB yesterday, the high now is at 109.13. So it has made higher high. Full Stochastic has turned back up to move back above 80. MACD is still positive. The same is true on the weekly chart.

On the daily F fund chart, the Full stochastic was above 80 from about March 24th to about April 6th, so it looks like the return above 80 could have it embed above 80 again to have a continuing price climb. At least one possibility. Reason I think it likely is because of continuation of bonds as safe harbor while health care and tax plan and debt ceiling are in limbo and as S fund and C fund are now declining.

My plan is to stay in F fund until I see a bottom in the S and C fund, and then reallocate at that time to move back into US equities.

Possibly made mistake going into I fund as it is late in its run up. MACD is negative but Full Stochastic is moving upward from 20. So makes me think MACD could follow for a bigger run up. If that does not happen, and I fund starts to nose dive, then will need to consider exit and use of my 2nd IFT. Hope that does not happen as I would like to use that for late month buy into the S and C fund if indicators (driven by so many things like earnings, politics, world events and just plain market sentiment) start to go back up. We will see.....

Best Wishes to Everyone on Your Investments!!!!!!!!!

Going to hang out in "I a little longer hoping to add a few more shares before jumping back to "S". But "I" is loosing less than "S". Going to be a tough call for the rest of the month. Looking like I might go 50/50 "CS" for May since both have been pretty equal for the last few years. Historically June has looked ugly across the board.

Good Luck.

Good article.
Eight Factors Affecting Daily Trading. Last one, mentions the market fade on Friday afternoons, though I realize this past Thursday (last trade day of week) was primarily affected by the Afghanistan bombing. Totally unexpected. I've been caught exiting on a day like that and so I feel for anyone who got hit with that a few days ago.

FYI on the original series on Amazon about Playboy. The societal changes and history depicted in the show is really interesting.
Much of the what was acceptable behavior from the 50s thru the 70s as it relates to men and women would put the activists of today into full cardiac arrest. Very good show.
