DreamboatAnnie's Account Talk

Just a few observations. Finally got chance to look at charts!!

Spx -Slow Sto on way down and has now hit about 43 and yesterday price touched the 10 day EMA. The 20 EMA was touched by closing price back on Dec 29. It kept up nicely for 4 days as expected when wick touches 20 aftee being in 10 day channel for a good time. Now price is meandering as it goes into constricted BBs. MACD below it's signal line. All EMAS sloped up and 10 above 20 and 20 above 50 day...good!

DWCPF -same story. Still waiting for a further drop for both SPX and DWCPF before re-entry.

EFA (I fund) - doing better. Still in 10 day channel. MaCD above its signal line and sloped up. SLOW stochastic drops below 80 to lose embedded reading and niw at about 72. No price (COB or intraday) touch of 20 day EMA. All EMAS sloped up with 10 above 20 and 20 above 50 day...good! Wish I were still in it.

F fund looks like it continues upward hitting upper Bollinger band and we'll within 10 day EMA channel. MACD above its signal line and Slow Stochastic now dropped to about 67 but movin up to 70....looks like it wants to move above 80 to embed. Nice! Wish I were in it.

Wish you all a good day and Best Wishes on Your Investments!!!!!!!!

Annie have you gotten any word on JTH. It is literally like he just up and disappeared. I hope everything is allright w/ him. His combo charts were extremely useful in reassuring my tsp moves. Also do you know of anyone else who put together the combo charts like he did. Thanks

Hi Alaska! No...no idea what happened to JTH. I asked Tom C. about him but he has no word. Last i heard, JTH was returning from TDY in Europe, and I understood he was returning home to Texas. Hope he is okay. Just unusual for him to not post for such a long time. I dont know of anyone else doing combo charts.

Good morning! I am not buying in today.

I wanted to buy in today because i had read article that said buying in on Thrsday or Friday before option expiration (next Friday...also Inauguration day) often can bring a quick uptick...from the Friday week before expiration to Monday or even into the expiration date itself. But i have not backtested and I did not see a huge drop yesterday, nor does it look like that will happen today. Although, did notice that candles for equities showed a lot of intraday drops that were quickly bought up yesterday

Hummm... So could be market still has some legs! Except for I fund, which is doing good, Looks like S and C are still at around the same price as last Friday when I exited. Would like to see at least a 2% drop before I enter again. Will see.....

Best Wishes to Everyone on your Investments and Have a Great Weekend!!!!!!!!

Hello! Still holding in G. Weekly charts look promising for equities, but for now the Daily charts are not appetizing. Bollingers constricted, price trending in that narrow path. While 10 day EMA still above 20, and 20 above 50, the 10 is no longer sloping upward. MACD is also trending down and below its signal line. So its an easy decision to stay out.

So on hold. Still waiting for price to set the direction coming out of the constricted Bollinger bands. If price shoots downward, will wait for Slow Stochastic to dip to 20, watch for it to move back up above 50 or 60 before buying that dip.

Note...I fund on Weekly chart has been looking good and met my new entry criteria a few weeks ago. Looks to continue up with a little short term weakness possible. I am thinking to stay long once i enter. Last year I missed out on most of the earnings that occurred from Feb to April. Not planning to let tgat happen again.

Hope you have a Beautiful DAY and Best wishes to you and Everyone on Your Investments!!!!!

Hello again! Here is a very good article on Stochastics. I recently started implementing a slightly new strategy using some of this information. I think it will help me but the proof will be in results this year. Of course it also depends on my executing timely and not letting fear get in the way. Good stuff... Happy Reading and Best wishes to all of you!!!!!!!!

Ultimate Guide to the Stochastic Oscillator

Decided to look a bit at F fund tonight. Here are the Weekly and Daily charts.

AGG -Weekly - 2- years
iShares Core U.S. Aggregate Bond ETF, AGG Advanced Chart - (NAR) AGG, iShares Core U.S. Aggregate Bond ETF Stock Price - BigCharts.com

AGG - Weekly -4 Years
iShares Core U.S. Aggregate Bond ETF, AGG Advanced Chart - (NAR) AGG, iShares Core U.S. Aggregate Bond ETF Stock Price - BigCharts.com

AGG - F Fund - daily -6 months

Looking at Weekly charts, looks like a few more weeks of downside could occur before double bottom forms to possibly reverse course. The 10 week EMA is below the 20 week EMA and 20 week EMA is below the 50 week EMA. The Weekly chart clearly shows its been in a down trend since Aug-Sept.

The daily chart looked more promising in the short-term with 10 day EMA crossing over the 20 day EMA...but with recent price drops, looks like it could cross back down.

Obviously no one knows what will happen but with weekly MACD still below its signal line, I will probably avoid F fund for awhile.

Best Wishes to Everyone in Your Investments !!!!!!!!!

Good evening, Looking at S fund again. Just to reiterate. The weekly charts look really good!! Because the EMA slopes are up on the Weekly charts, I tend to think I want to get back into the S fund as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the daily chart is showing a bit of short-term weakness. So just watching to find the right day for re-entry!!!

The bollingers on daily chart are constricted. I understand that means price will move greatly when the bands start to expand and bow out. Thing is....which way will it go???? Don't know! Waiting to see...

Ugghhhh...i dont like waiting. I really would like to buy in tomorrow on a gut feeling that prices will be mixed tomorrow and then explode upward next week when Trump starts undoing certain "things" (getting rid of executive orders that hindered business).... and market is pleased! I get tge feeling they will be.....so i make buy in some tomorrow. Will see......ugghhh...that would be going against my strategy. :banghead:

Best Wishes to you on your investments!!!!!!!!

Good article on historical markets after Inaugurations. Still no decision on entry. I ought to just flip a coin and get it over!!! Lol.....

Will stocks sell off after Trump takes the oath? Here

P.S. Just in case anyone has gotten the idea that I know what I'm doing, you should reconsider! While I have studied how certain technical indicators work and examined many charts, I am not a financial expert! I have what I think is a good strategy that i keep not following. Reason: fear and rethinking! Ugghhhh.....one day I will back test strategy to see what tge results would have been if I had followed it...that way I can kick myself some more!!! But I obviously like it that way......:suspicious:

Still holding tight on the sidelines. Trying to not let my emotions get the best of me ..... Strategy...strategy....strategy!!
Just so close to making a move....you know that article indicates it usually takes a couple of weeks before reality truly sets in ...followed by drop. Hummm.... Still.....strategy...strategy...strategy!!

Entering at 70%S, 20%C, 10% I fund.

Ok...yes rethought it all... I am going to rely on the Weekly charts...which are in a clear uptrend. If I suffer through some downside next week, so be it. Historical indicates prices go up a few weeks ... If I read that right.

Yes.. I dislike I fund but that chart also looks good and I understand Draghi spoke yesterday indicating their QE continues. Here goes nothing!!! :D

Best wishes to Everyone on Your Investments!!!!!!

Watching Inauguration coverage on the Fox Business Channel... Keeping eye on markets! So if everyone seemingly had it wrong as to what market would do with Trump election, could that be the same for Inauguration??? Time will tell! Oh...and Melania wearing one of my favorites... Ralph Lauren. Very Beautiful and Elegant!

Hello! Hope your having a Great Evening on this very special day!!!

I was a bit worried about how markets would do on this first business day of the new administration. But looks like it did okay even though it was a bit negative. Hoping for some upside tomorrow with the release of more financial reports. Yahoo reported after-hours and its actual Earnings per share and Revenue beat the expected amounts. So its up after hours. Tomorrow we hear on Alibaba, Verizon, Johnson and Johnson... And whats that last one????....lol...thinking of Perry years ago! ::laugh:

I'm hopeful that earning reports will bring good news leading to an overall positive market for the week. I am thinking that maybe, just maybe, consumers felt optimistic during Christmas and decided to buy lots of goods. I know I did, so we will see....

Best Wishes to you on your Investments !!!!!!!!

Wow! Lovin the market! Woo hooo 20,000!! So happy all day! But ...when do we exit???
Looking at charts... Lol...

Hope your having a Great Evening and Best wishes on your investments!!!!!!!!

Good evening! Probably should have exited today, but still holding on. Really just so busy at work today,
I never got a break to even see how market was doing. Still tend to want to stay in longer. The weekly charts still have MACD above its signal line but starting to flatten...then the EMAs (10, 20, and 50 week) are beautifully sloped up ...stacked pretty! (I.e. 10 above 20, 20 above 50). The thing that makes me question exit is the EMA slopes and looking at how the MACD kept meandering sideways rolling over and under the signal line for months back in 2013 while the market stair stepped higher and higher. Something to think about! Or if looking at daily chart, might it now do what happened in start of September??? Ugly little drop....humm......

Best Wishes to you on your Investment!!!!!!!!!

Hello! Moving to G fund COB. I think there is just a little weakness for a few days and I plan to re-enter next week with replenished IFTs (Feb 1) or once weakness is over.

Best wishesto you on your Investments and Hope you have a Great Weekend !!!!!!!!

Looked at charts a bit ago and still seeing weakness. No go for now. Will look again tonight but doubtful it would lead me to jump in tomorrow... maybe next week. S and I fund look better on their weekly (longer term) charts but looking at the Daily charts indicates maybe a weak rally for a few days--i.e. it could go up a lot but its very short term so a quick in and out in order if one chooses to take that risk. Not enough to entice me as I am looking for a longer strong thrust up. SPX (C fund) looks a little worse on the weekly chart and daily.

F Fund??? fagetaboutit! The 10EMA crossed below the 20 and had been stacked for a week... nothing to like about that while the MACD below its signal line.

But again... on a longer term view (buy and hold) the weekly equity charts look good.

Best Wishes to you on Your Investments!!!!!!!!!

Well looked at charts again COB...no change on last decision or take on charts.
Hope you have a Great Evening! Best Wishes on Your Investments!!!!!!!!!

Hi !! Well haven't posted since last Thursday. How time flies when your having FUN!! Played two card tournaments with friends this past weekend for money ($$$ won one of them), joking about, drinking Dos Equis and Superbowl... doesn't get much better than that!!! lol...

Here is Daily DWCPF (S fund) chart I was just looking at. What catches my attention is that even though Slow Stochastic is starting to drop I am not sure that if it goes under 20 (my criteria for considering entry) it will be a good buy in. Reason is that the MACD is meandering sideways. So thinking maybe a Slow Sto kiss of the 20 line might still provide a weak rally (a few good up days?). I really like to enter when Slow Sto drops BELOW 20 and MACD crosses to move above its signal line in a Steep slope up for a day or two, with good breadth between it and its signal line AND with that move happening within a day or two of Slow Sto moving below 20 and then heading upwards. (examples: Sept2015, Oct 2015, Feb 2016, Jun 2016, July 2016, Nov 2016). When that happens ... watch out honey!!! The money maker will be shakin!!!! ... uuhhh.. providing I pull trigger as soon as I see it and don't be scaaarrreeeddd....

Wishing you a Great Day and Best Wishes to you on Your Investments!!!!!!!!!!
