DreamboatAnnie's Account Talk

So this is my absolute favorite Peter Framptom song. Video is awesome! Lyrics great too!! Got to see him in San Antonio back in mid 90s at La Semana Alegre, during Fiesta week. Outdoor stage. He put on a great show! He played great on guitar!!

For S fund...The Bollinger bands were constricted but now bowing out...obviously showing downward direction, MACD is below its signal lime (I mean line..thinking margarita!!) heading downward as is the Slow Stochastic....I'm a little surprised the dead cat bounce wasn't a little better Today. Yes some news may have affected it today, but lots of fear out there. It may go further down. Will look for MACS slope to go upward or at least curve upwards and see a Lower Slow Stochastic before entry.... Preferably below 20. Reportedly, fears of recession. Regardless, about 10 days ago price hit that high resistance point, so if price meanders up and down would like it above midpoint before entry, but if it continues down will look for a bottom on upswing before midpoint on BBs.

Same story as Sfund except it hit resistance last week at its highest point ever. Still think the S fund will have best growth in coming year. Talking heads sa ying that.

I revised my strategy based on some of the info in the link in my last post. Revised the concept a bit to use a 7 day instead of 10 day---made the leap today. I definitely like the concept. I don't like the eggroll name though. Its a short moving average without the average. Very simple. I like it!!

Very good article on the VIX (CBOE volatility index). Based on weighted average of options, puts and calls. Looks to be some measure of "in and out" of market option moves. Complex calculation but not necessary to compute as its already done and can be viewed on chart VIX

It typically moves in opposite direction of market prices, so it another great tool that is useful in figuring out where the market is headed short-term.

Need to incorporate it more into trade strategy.

Tracking Volatility: How The VIX Is Calculated (VXX,XIV,UVXY,VIXM)

Just wanted to post this article on basic candle stick reading courtesy of Investopedia

Candlestick Charting: What Is It?

The clear, white or green candlestick body represents price action ended the day higher than previous day, and the opening price is reflected by the bottom left corner of the candle body with closing price indicated on the top right of candle body.

A dark or red candle stick body represents price action ended the day lower than the prior day, and the top left corner represents the opening price while the bottom right corner of the body represents the closing price.

The wicks that may or may not extend out from the candlestick body represent the intraday high and low prices.

There are tons of GREAT videos on Youtube but I will need to find them to post links...lost my favorites.

Waiting for the "I" fund to start it's breakout run.
Hi NASA, I've been wondering about that too! Some folks think C fund will be big winner in 2015, others think S fund. I tend to think S fund will be better but I watch technical indicators on both so I just go with what I think has seen largest drops most recently for idea of which might be best.

I noticed uptrend mentioned he thought I fund should be avoided unless the USD is falling and a trend confirms it. I tend to agree. I think it will go up at some point but gotta confirm...I've never been a big fan of the I fund only because I don't hear much about what is going on there ...especially in Europe and I do not know how much of the I fund is weighted towards China and Japan. It has always seemed very volatile and I cannot make sense of the indicators for it. Best wishes to you and all for the comin New Year!!

And BT, Since Hong Kong now is back in the People's Republic of China there is a 2.8% of value there.
