DreamboatAnnie's Account Talk

Good article on Market. I am sticking to strategy and bailing today for short term. May buy in later this month.

Hi dreamboat, i have been following the slow stochastic as u have mentioned, i also think that it has very little room to the upside, i will be watching for the SS around 25 ish to re-enter. If u look back at the charts, and just entered when the SS is it that range, then get out when its near 80, we would have made lots-o-money, Cheers...

Yes... just kicking myself. I just lost my XMAS rally. I'm hoping I am not in the red on this overall transaction. Definitely negative big time for this year with what is happening today. Well I am still glad my strategy is good but my execution is very poor. I should have gotten out 12/31 and then decided to I should get out 1/3 and then 1/10 (Fridays) and just could not get to a phone on Friday in time and then just decided to let it ride one more day! Dang :(
Well tomorrow is another day. Now will start looking for entry... not sure if this thing is going down more. There maybe a bounce tomorrow but irrelevant for me at this point. Just hate that we cannot transact on a moment's notice... we are just playing blind and with hands tied behind our back from Noon EST to close of business in the market. TSP rules/Government sucks! Im really pissed and that doesnt happened very often.

if i was in the market, today would be the kind of day i curl up on the couch with a mug of chicken noodle soap and hug my sock monkey and have a long talk to the mirror about investing for the long run and vow to keep working 5 more years.

Okay...maybe I'm not mad. Just had a chance to look at prices I paid to enter the market on 12/16 and 12/17... prices for both S and C fund should still be well above that and so I made a profit (in the black)... albeit... it could have been much better if I had exited Friday, but overall I am okay. Im sure I am now in the red on the Tracker for 2014 but I don't care about that. I had a positive trade so I am okay. Maybe that is a simplistic view but as long as my account keeps going up I am happy. Now to figure out how much I actually made on that transaction... that is the hard part. Plus I guess eventually I need to figure out what my rate of return is.

Just need to be much more diligent to follow my strategy timely. Okay...so now looking for a bottom to get back in .... :)

Thanks Burro... I am now happy again especially after realizing I did make a profit on this transaction ... and I am drinking a hot cup of cammomile tea to relax and an oreo cookie! I'll just think about squeezing a sock monkey for now although the greendbacks that could have been mine would be better!! Gonna shake it off honey... Lol :)

Tough break today Annie, but at least you made a profit. A little honey in that tea will make it all better...

Thanks Ravensfan, ahhh...a little honey always makes everything better!! :) I'll figure out what I made on this stint and I'll probably look to see what I could have had...ugghh. ..don't want to do that, but I will. Hard lesson learned. I think the price levels should be equal to about what they were around 12/23...so I did get to keep a little of the Xmas rally. We all knew a pull back was due, but would have been nice to get out before. Buy low. Sell high. And around and around we go!

Annie,

If you go to the homepage at this site, scroll down to the bottom of the page, click on "Utilities" it will take you to some tools to help you track your gains/losses. I've been using the spreadsheet since March and it really helps...

Thanks Ravensfan! :) for links. That should help and will work with it later tonight or this weekend. I was just looking at DWCPF chart and looks like market may continue to meander further down to around 965 to 975. I won't go back in until it goes to that level for S fund. Slow Stochastic is still too high so I think it will go down more and of course would like to see it around 15 or 20 to jump back in.

On SPX chart for C fund, it looks very close to what I see as a retracement of about 1815. However, the Slow stochastic is still too high so that makes me think prices may go down further during the next 5 days ( of course with its unpredictable up/ down meandering).

Again will look for both to hit or go closer to the lower Bollinger band and/ or 50 EMA before finding bottom.

I thought I heard someone come in while I was checking the charts. Agree with your assessment on the markets. On both the S&P and DWCPF today's prices are below the 10 and 18 day SMA's, but we still have a way to go to get to the 50. If we do get there and an opportunity presents itself, I think it will be a quick in and out. Been reading lots of doom and gloom for February.

Glad to see market came back up some but all this whopping calls for some damn good jams! Nothing's better than some Stevie Ray Vaughan....Tightrope!! Check it out.austin city limits ..city lights background at night.. Stevie making love to his guitar. This man has pure "cool" running in his veins. Guitar riffs about a third into it and especially near the end are just incredible. God I just love this man...his boots, his hat, his belts, his beat up guitar...those riffs...wow!! Gives me chills every time I watch this video!!! Stevie give me some more goose bumps over and over!! :p. Definitely want to crank this up!

SRV was THE GUITARMAN and will always be one of the greatest. I have ALL of his songs, or at least 90% of them!:toung: note.gif

So many guitar gods. Stevie Ray, what a guitar prodigy. Here is another gifted guitar god. Watched him in concert last year, played for nearly 3 hours. Just watch him in YouTube link.

Joe Bonamassa - Just Got Paid - YouTube
Wow...definitely a guitar god. Had to watch that a few times. Incredible especially at 4 mins and 9 mins in. Sounds like some White Snake sampling around 5.25 mins and Led Zeppelin at 9 mins to the end, but sound so unique. So he played for 3 hours like that??? I see he'll be in San Antonio in April, but I think I'm gonna be out of town then. Would definitely like to see him. It's great that you got to see him. Must have been awesome concert.

Annie, Joe Bonamassa will do 3 gigs in Texas. Amarillo TX. Amarillo Civic Center April 3rd - Abilene Civic Center April 4th, and San Antonio's Majestic Theater April 5th. If you can make it to one of these concerts I guarantee you it'll be awesome and you'll become a fan. I'll be going to the concert in Salt Lake City on March 30th. J. Bonamassa will play and sing for 2 plus hours, no 15 minute breaks just singing and playing the blues, song after song and that awesome guitar. You won't regret it, I promise.

I saw Jonny Lang tear it up at the Harley Davidson 100th Anniversary Tour at Texas Motor Speedway in '02, fantastic blues guitarist. Aerosmith played later that evening; that and many very cool motorcycles made for a good time!

Wow, first time I had to put on the headphones to read TSPTalk! SRV is obviously a guitar god. And I don't ever see many people talking up Joe Bonamassa, and he'll be here in San Antonio soon! So I've forgotten why I'm in this forum!
