If you will, go ahead and validate the moves ......maybe I'll get blasted for it too.....
I had forgotten about that bet and that being the reason. Sorry. But I guess I don't get why you had to hide your moves?

I haven't been keeping score as we go, but I do have all the PM's with your transactions whenever you're ready.

To be honest, I knew NOTHING of "the bet" except cryptic references to it and a mysterious third party who was "keeping the moves". Now that it's revealed that it's a person we know actually exists (:)), I'm much more interested.

In your spare time, Tom, I'd be interested in a YTD tally.

And I agree: Why hide the moves? One could argue that we're ALL in a competition with the best return we can get. Letting someone else know what moves we make doesn't seem to help or hurt us!

That is what I am talking of...take the PM's and post them in one post on this thread...I'll post a excel fund sheet showing the % gains....later on....

S&S, the bet was from MM in the middle of May....so there isn't anything of interest before that for we all know I was idleing till then....and I did say I hid the moves to make MM sweat.....

Ain't got any fear of the market right now because I'm not in....just eager to get the Ball rolling.....

I'm going to tread lightly here because I commend Tech for posting his moves, and I assume Tom can confirm them.

But I note that the actual moves don't necessarily correspond to your "Get In - Get out" tally from earlier this week:

I think that, (fairly or unfairly), points out the concerns that some were voicing here. It's too easy to give the appearance of "success" when one has the opportunity to do it in the dark.

Again, I applaud your willingness to post your moves.

Added: Couldn't get the attachment to display....My apologies.

Tech,

We all appreciate those who can make the moves and beat the market. Don't hide your light under a bushel. Part(if not most) of the value of this board is learning from each other. If you got the skills and don't share them, that's your choice, but it is a shame. Looks like to me you may have the goods, and in the final analysis, that speaks louder than any commentary. Wizard of Oz for instance!

Let's make the money...

Posting moves is one way of doing that. Offering commentary and making "calls" is another. If you heeded the call on buying GLD two weeks ago, you would now be up nearly 10% on the trade. :)

I don't know - I'd just rather make some general remarks on what I think is happening and why - rather than saying I'm X amount in G, F, C, S, and I every time I move money.

I will say this - I'm hiding in G and have been for a week. I think we could go south in a hurry here, and a lot of investors are going to get caught with their pants down on this one. If we regain some of today's losses tomorrow, I'd recommend shorting the indices (I did this at the open today for the first time ever). Given my belief that we will at least hit the low of 1220 on the SPX, you could pocket a pretty quick 2% or so profit on such a trade, and possibly more than that if we crash through the low and drop all the way to the old rising trend line.

Here I went ahead and posted the moves and the net return for the year.....

Tom should have the PM coming for the trades to compare...

Actually, the moves that I started investing with were from Jun 13th on......the previous recommendations were from posts that I posted......recommending to get out in early May and to get back in....I was in a hurry to notify the board of what I found in early May (nobody believed me at the time).....and I do believe I didn't get a move in correctly, the 15th where I moved from C to CSI....I said in the Crystal ball originally to Get Out.....I remember the confusion with the software at the time (I was just making the sheet up to try to record the results) so this was in error I'm sure .....u know it would happen, get in a rush and such.....here is what I think the correction should be.....it should be close....

I cannot access my actual moves from TSP at this time to check this,........We will know more when Tom posts the moves later on.....

Oh well, its been an exciting month on this side.....the mistake wouldn't surprise me....but that was my input error in the development stage.....

This whole thing has been mind consuming....I need a break......

missed another...dang.....but I expect it to be short in duration....will have to loook later today to determine its duration...just got to the puter.....

How convenient. Oh BTW, TSP cutoff is noon EST. I'm sure a lot of folks here would love to be able to see the fed minutes at 2pm before making a prediction.

Well the Crystal ball sez to hold tight for the moment.....looks like we could see the S&P 1229 level break over the next several days...then maybe a break upward again....I would expect the same action for the other two funds as well.....

Such hostility.............I believe your language and name calling goes against the rules of this site unless I'm mistaken.

Unless the S&P drops 1% today, we'll end this week higher than last week.

Quack, quack.

U so pathetic....worthless....one can just get tired of reading your infantile posts....you're such a waste of time......for me and this board....save the humanity.....

Will you be letting everyone know what next week brings before noon today?

I'm thinking folks should start jumping back in next Wed or Thurs. What say you?
