Carnac's Corner

....made it through the 13th trade in the plus...

Carnac

I was curious about this statement, and reviewed your account thread. I was expecting to see thirteen moves in and out of the stock funds.....but there only thirteen posts total, one of which was a no action stay in the G post.

The F-fund I can sorta see were they might count (even though it was for peanuts), but are you really counting moves with the G-fund as being skill navigation of the market?

Doesn't that seem a bit ridiculous?

Griffin - It would really be better for Tech if you would just listen to his claims, rather than sort through his double speak in an effort to bring his actual performance to light.

To his credit, he did generate a 3.16% return last month, so I thought maybe he might be on to something. Only time will tell, but he is posting his moves and occassionally taking the one or two day stints into the stock world. Now, if we can just get Birch to go into capital preservation for one or two days a month, all would be right with the world....sort of.....don't ask for too much, too fast, at least now we know that Tech is trainable. :D

Griffin, I suppose I need to explain the 13....it was from my records and the last trade that was a negative return was just before June 23rd.....I didn't look to the account thread.....wasn't trying to satisfy anybody questioning my honesty for I have no reason too....

One other bit of info that will be interesting to you....you remember I mostly sat out the early part of the year...I was busy and so forth as well as absorbing a few new angles on the new replacement Crystal Ball....unofficially I'm up over 10% for the year....and I really didn't start up and going until end of May.....missed out on that early year run.....only Tom and Nnutt can verify that fact....Nnutt has, Tom didn't.... I did tell EW to just erase some history on my track to clean things up a bit....

I'm fixing to catch up with you guys, even with me starting in May, even missed out on an easy 5% in June-July timeframe (on Vacation), gave you guys a head start.....:D . I'm just getting the thing warmed up a bit.......When I officially pass you guys up, you are going to have to work at it to keep near my wake.....

So pick away at it...if that's all you got to contribute.....me I broke the G fund mystery, got a handle on the F fund habits and this week, just broke another wall down this week.....I Fund Futures....;)

.....I Fund Futures....

Tech,

The reason I pick, is not to atagonize, but to keep things in perspective. If you develop some methodology that proves to be useful, I would expect you to share it and I would have no problem with you recieveing any due credit. But, wheels is correct, you do a lot of double talk and attempt to rewrite history so that the crystal ball is never wrong.

The key to having a credible model, is to recognize when it is working and when it is not. Look at what Ebb is doing. The Ebb tracker is making some great moves, but he is willing to admit when it ain't. You really need to get over the fear of being wrong......no one is going to be right all the time.

Anybody can have all positive trades.....it's just a matter of patience. Which brings me to the I-fund futures comment. I would really appreciate it, if you explained this, or a link to an explantion.

Thanks.

I had a young broker who admired a 120% portfolio return one year ask me how I chose my individual stock selections. I told him some were chosen with a top down approach, some were chosen with a bottoms up approach, and some were just plain pulled out of my a$$. Now that is a technique. Techy may have a similar mechanism helping him make his decisions.

What was / is the G fund mystery and how did you break it?

Thanks - Dell
When I came on board last year, the MB had a difficult time guessing when the G fund paid out....I took a look at it and found out how to take an "Educated Guess" at it and was successful for the majority of the time... .....it started the Crystal Ball rolling at that time....

If you've ever looked into one, a crystal ball usually turns everything upside down and backwards... :D

Once you corner those run away balls you never regret it....

EZ is up again.....we're now in the positive....1 penny...I fund

3 cents positive for the C and S....so far today...

F fund doesn't look good at the moment...looks like we're in a downtrend in the F for the week....

EZ is moving down again.....we're now even for the I fund

2,1 cents positive for the C and S....so far today...but may move down for the immediate future

F fund doesn't look good at the moment...looks like we're in a downtrend in the F for the week...

Right now....its love the G time and I would watch the I .....

EZ is moving up again -dollar losing value.....we're now +.04 for the I fund...highest for the day....

3,3 cents positive for the C and S....so far today...but may move down for the immediate future

F fund doesn't look good at the moment...looks like we're in a downtrend in the F for the week...

Looks like its around 0, -2 cents for the C and S....for today...

What happened to that rally????

I feel like the I will have a fair chance tomorrow.....

Guess you should of waited till after the reports came out this morning to read those futures. Uh, I mean your crystal ball.

Seems like the I is having to find its bottom until the meetings tomorrow....suppose the morning is going to be exciting......personally, I don't feel a rate hike is in the future, heck if gas price drop is an indication of how fast the powers that are... want to back out of this "Great" economic corner" they have us in, then the rates should be looking for a reprieve to the downside....but don't bet your life on it....

Keep in mind, the lower the price of oil, the less economic power Iran (and the rest of the Middle east) has.....

We're in a +.02 for the I so far this morning.....EZ is moving up.....dollar is losing ground....that's good for the I fund, since the $ has been gaining ground since mid Aug.....its like a bunch of wolves waiting for the moment to sell dollars.....like right after BB says we're not raising interest rates....;)
