Re: JPCavin just had to ask. Why, oh Lord, why???

what!!?? guru!!!??

a guru sits on a mountain top in a robe and thinks up wisdom and disperses shadows. a gnu runs dirty on the plains with the herd.

i don't want to be a guru!

crap, now i need a new avatar.

Re: burros-ark

in only 80 more posts i am set to go to the next title level above 'tsp elite', which is going to be 'tsp gnu'. a gnu is a like a bull except for on a different continent. i can't hardly wait, i am so excited to be a tsp gnu! i think i will change my avatar then to reflect my new status.

i am trying really hard to not just post a bunch of crap 80 times real quick to get there fast and instead make each post as in depth and thoughtful as the last 7,420. how am i doing?
I kinda like the flared nostrils ...especially if your talking about money, but not too sure about those hairy "round things".....uhhhh...oh his chin. :rolleyes:

Re: burros-ark

burros-ark update: wheee! mouse goes swinging through the jungle in and out and grabs a score, i had a feeling she was a closet day trader, nice move. it reminded me of those sports center highlight reels where some crazy fool strips off all their clothes and streaks onto the field. some people look away when that happens, the thought that pops into my mind in those situations is 'yeah! go get some!' this is an unsettled market and i don't think it's done running yet, but there is opportunity out there if you are quick. some days you're tarzan and some days you're the vine.

mouse: 8, 0.79%, 15, >, swinger
turtle: 3, (0.59%), 5, <, swinger
elephant: 5, (0.66%), 100, *, vine
penguin: 9, (1.83%), 100, *, vine
lion: 7, (1.05%), 80, *, vine
donkey: 5, 0.09%, 0, *, vine
racoon: 9, (1.83%), 100, *, vine
kangaroo: 9, (1.82%), 100, *, vine
cougar: 9, (1.52%), 100, *, vine
wolf: 9, (1.82%), 100, *, vine
owl: 9, (1.84%), 100, *, vine
squrrel: 5, (1.11%), 60, *, vine
hawk: 9, (1.83%), 100, *, vine

el vira = 96-65 = 31/65 = 48%. sell. get out and stay out. system remains in g fund.

nobody bailed in panic mode, but it had to be close. if not for the positive friday most would be down twice as far. arkers are net long 74%, that is a big aggressive allocation, but it's a big aggressive market so we shall see. contrarion sentiment says run. we may be near a short term bottom but the longer time frames look bleak. good luck traders.

Re: burros-ark

oh, and congratulations to alevin for leading the arker pack. she's also #65 on the auto tracker, that's like 4 better than 69, good job, got you some nice in and out action there. it is going to mess with the style and sentiment parts of my system model if you are going to be a trader now, but it will all balance out eventually.

Re: burros-ark

burros-ark update: this is the second week in a row i got caught on the wrong side of the central bank cult, those guys really know how to move markets. mouse is leading the pack for the second week in a row too, grabbing gains with a low risk allocation. elephant's international play is finally paying dividends after about 2 years. turtle doubled his equity position while owl pulled the plug. and everybody else i'm sure is happy to be down only pocket change or barely breaking even. sometimes i feel like just hiding my money under the bed. fear seems to have dissapated and congratulations to anybody who has been letting it ride for the last few weeks, it seems to have paid off.

mouse: 7, 1.07%, 15, *, bank
turtle: 7, (0.41%), 11, >, fees
elephant: 5, 0.62%, 100, *, bank
penguin: 7, (0.24%), 100, *, fees
lion: 7, 0.16%, 80, *, interest
donkey: 3, 0.13%, 0, *, interest
racoon: 7, (0.24%), 100, *, fees
kangaroo: 7, (0.22%), 100, *, fees
cougar: 5, 0.00%, 100, *, matress
wolf: 7, (0.22%), 100, *, fees
owl: 1, (0.25%), 0, <, fees
squrrel: 5, (0.11%), 60, *, fees
hawk: 7, (0.23%), 100, *, fees

el vira = 75-65 = 10/65 = 15%. buy. this is a more reasonable positive sentiment and some risk appears to have come off the market. the system will move long effective close of business tomorrow.

arkers are net long 67%. good luck out there.

Re: burros-ark

ouch. this is going to hurt today. i guess there are some definate drawbacks to a system that only generates a signal on a weekly basis and limits buy/sell activity to mondays. but i did it that way on purpose to try to balance my individual daily volatility tendencies. also i committed the system to following each signal so if it flips to sell this weekend i may get stuck locking in a loss. hmmmm. the trick will be to not influence the signal generates to match what i want to do at the monent. it occurs to me that my career as an investment advisor may be a short one indeed.

this is now the 3rd week in a row a central bank has jerked around the markets. i missed the 1st snb move and the 2nd ecb games, but damnit janet you got me this week. i guess my only consolation is, if you are going to get thrown off a cliff it may as well be a tall one by the biggest gorrilla in the jungle. wheeee! this is fun now, but i know it's going to hurt when i reach the bottom.

it's times like these i like to remember one of the best pieces of advice i've ever heard: resilient folks bounce, sh!t goes splat.

Re: JPCavin just had to ask. Why, oh Lord, why???

wow! i just saw the biggest shooting star ever! or else a comet or something!

at first i thought 'that must be a big damn plane why is it flying so low?' or maybe a helicopter along the train tracks bit then it turned into a big sparkler and the tail broke up into little flashing pieces and it disappeared. it crossed from west to east across the whole length of the sky looking south. northen plains. wow. i was so lucky to be outside peeing in the backyard at the moment. i have never seen any thing like that. it was huge!

and before any of you smart aleks get any bright ideas i am talking about the comet or whatever it was. wow, like 4th of july.

It could have been Comet Lovejoy coming around again. :laugh: And there really is a Comet Lovejoy that passed over the skies recently.

well i don't know what it was. lovejoy? fate is cruel. but there i was in my backyard in my manties on an unseasonably pleasant night recycling some beer and my pecker in my hand and i just saw the coolest light show ever! longitude approximately montana north dakota border latitude approx interstate 94 far from anything considered a city let alone a proper town, and it was awesome! i hope it isn't the start of the zombie apacolypse yet. my neighbors think i'm strange. but they thought that before the comet anyways. wooo hoooo! that was one in a million!

Sounds more like a meteor / shooting star or even more like space junk hitting the atmosphere.
Great that you saw it but I would consider pointing your head down to the ground especially if European in North Dakota at night in January.
Of course it is all a preference and risk / reward decision based on falling on your face or your back when European. <G>.

Have a good weekend! Two of my favorite things are sunsets and shooting stars.

Re: burros-ark

Did you have social contact with anyone at the truck stop while getting dinner and ingest anything they offered on the evening of the event? Just asking man?

Re: burros-ark

burros-ark update: early post as i will be busy cussing at the seahawks tomorrow, until they lose. what a week, what a month, what a year so far. there is a 5 point spread between f fund and c fund. international markets are as weak as they have been in a long while yet they are kicking profit butt, that's all there is to know. the game is rigged. that's why we don't do charts around here, just blindly bet, the night is young.

arkers >= indices:
g = 15%
f = 0%
c = 100%
s = 77%
i = 0%
damage to hopes and dreams, draw your own conclusions from that mess.

mouse: 1, 0.95%, 0, <, sell
turtle: 8, (0.36%), 11, *, hold
elephant: 5, 0.09%, 100, *, hold
penguin: 5, (2.42%), 100, *, hold
lion: 5, (1.21%), 80, *, hold
donkey: 4, 0.18%, 0, *, hold
racoon: 8, (2.42%), 100, *, hold
kangaroo: 8, (1.85%), 100, *, hold
cougar: 5, (1.48%), 100, *,hold
wolf: 7, (1.57%), 100, *, hold
owl: 3, (0.86%), 100, >, buy
squrrel: 5, (1.80%), 60, *, hold
hawk: 8, (2.30%), 100, *, hold

el vira = 72-65 = 7/65 = 11%. hold. you got to admire the resolve. tough bunch here.

arkers are net long 73%. okay, going to have to ride it out for a week. we're all in the same leaky boat together.

no. they don't sell anything that good at truck stops.

i figured out why i saw it that way. it had to be comet lovejoy, on the night of the 29th at about 8 pm. i was facing south and there was a bright moon in a clear black sky, at about my 1 o'clock. it came in low and flat from the west, i noticed it out of the corner of my eye. if a shooting star is a marble, then this was a softball, it was big and unusual. it was because the bright moon was shining on its face and reflecting back at me as it flew east. then when it pulled even with the moon is when i started to see sparkles. it was the moonlight bouncing off the trailing debris. then when it went past i could not see the face only the tail, lit up and flashing like a firework. then it dropped off the horizon.

i saw it. i was standing in my jockey shorts peeing in my backyard and i saw it. it took forever it seems to burn out, but that was just a trick of the light and timely rotation. it is still hurtling through space somewhere i'm sure. if i was going to invent something like this i would not start the story out with 'i was in my shorts out back peeing with my pecker in my hand and then...' nobody could make that up.

i saw it.
