burrocrat's Account Talk

Re: JPCavin just had to ask. Why, oh Lord, why???

I too, an eastern boy, called them flip flop things thongs. That's what the old folks called them.

I am waiting with bated breath for the next ark update. Not to be confused with baited breath as I have not eaten anything fishy smelling lately.

as usual once i start getting some clear distance between me and whatever is chasing me, the wheels come off my life train again this week. i was going to move in yesterday but my tsp.gov password is written down somewhere out of access reach at the time. now i think that is a pretty fortunate thing after a pretty good smackdown today. i had the good fortune to enjoy a nice family day and made some progress and din't bother checking the market at all. i will have to catch up on the week's moves and think and stuff before some more investment crap falls through the mental trapdoor and flies straight out my mouth.

Re: burro's ark

'tis an exciting season. i used to live in big places now i live in small places but i had the opportunity to go to a bigger place this week to knock off some last minute things on the xmas list and we had so much fun. i really enjoy the observing/absorbing other folks thing (people watching). you can learn alot about other people by how and what and where they shop. some folks are comfortable and are buying things and carry lots of bags, shoppers. some folks maybe are tighter and pick up less things they can add value or care to, crafters. and some folks provide their time and resources to others, volunteers. i love them all as each is good and has something to give. but probably my favorite thing about the colder holiday season is leggings. yep, those spandex painted on pants when the weather doesn't favor shorts. some wear a skirt over them, some a long blouse to accentuate the hips, and some are obviously proud of their assets. they all have a nice walk if you ask me, it takes all kinds. enjoy your holiday preparations, i know i do.

arkers vs indices:
>g: 39%
>f: 23%
>c: 8%
>s: 39%
>i: 92%

alevin/mouse, 5, 0.49%, m, shopper
amoeba/hare, 4, 1.81%, g, crafter
birchtree/elephant, 5, (1.99%), m, volunteer
bmnevue/penguin, 4, 14.09%, m, crafty
boghie/lion, 6, 4.54%, m, shopper
burrocrat/donkey, 4, 6.43%, g, crafter
fwm/racoon, 8 (12.18%), m, volunteer
jonfresno/kangarooo, 6, 0.17%, s, crafter
jpcavin/cougar, 2, 8.10%, f, crafter
jth/wolf, 2, 2.11%, g, crafter
mrbowl/owl, 9, (0.18%), s, volunteer
pessoptimist/squirrel, 9, 6.94%, m, reluctant shopper
whipsaw/hawk, 3, 0.88%, g, crafter

el vira = 67-65 = 2/65 = (3%). i personally want to hold my g fund here, but the system subtly flipped to buy. good luck to the early adopters, a move in right now would be about as ballsy as it gets considering fundemental headwinds vs seasonality.

Keerful there, b. classifying me as "shopper" may be trapdoor boobytrap. I've made no committments to big or multiple bags of anything, in fact I decommitted back to very small and few bags soon after beginning of the month sitting and watching, no decisions firm even if get down to potential buy point. skads of buying and comfortable carrying lots of bags around? really? "Making a list, checking it twice-does not constitute buy buy buy". Me ;)

are you somewhat in equities vs 100%g or not? for your style that is shopper. no offense.

No offense taken, just suggest you reconsider. would hate for that marginal buy signal to lead people to poor decisions. If 5% bluechips, balanced by 10% F makes me more than a reluctant shopper, I have a Marriot in the Great Dismal Swamp to donate to the cause. interested?

i am more of a motel 6 guy.

but there is an interesting potential confluence of local real estate, global demand, cornered markets, and geopolitics play that may come to fruition in the next 6-9 months that i have been giving thought to. maybe i'll share at some point.

disclaimer: in case anybody wants to sue me in court for selling inferior investment advice, remember it's free. and only observations not counseling to use in conjunction with whatever other ideas swim around in the head. plus i dare anyone to stand up in front of a judge and read the transcript of burros-ark into the record without getting held in contempt. the part i like about having nothing is having nothing to lose.

Burro,

I dunno...I'm not a resident of the ark, but for some reason, this Jerrod Niemann song just makes me think of you... :D

Something about donkeys, and Chevys in the ditch...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17oIgn_ZYqw

I suppose Tom and Frixxx will accuse me of sending them back into therapy...

Stoplight...

turns out as fate would have it, i've put more than one chevy in the ditch. and it has a cool beat so i can't argue here.

Burro,

Why am I not surprised that you could relate to a "Chevy in the ditch" ???

It's a totally stupid song, but it has burrowed into my brain, and I can't get it out !!! Help me !!!
