burrocrat's Account Talk

Re: JPCavin just had to ask. Why, oh Lord, why???

i find it discouraging that so few folks rose to the challenge, and those that did all qualified their answers. the whole point of the exercise was not what you are (it's ok) and not if other people agree with how you see yourself (that's ok too), but rather if you are ok with and like yourself, even if you are a mean evil stupid dwarf.

i'm still hoping somebody has enough balls to be who they are and say 'yeah that's right i'm a mean stupid evil dwarf and i like myself anyways!' instead of running multiple scenarios until they see something in the mirror they like.

p.s. that usually has less to do with how you look and more to do with how you want to be seen.

I think 'True Neutral' simply means I will kill things and drag em home without worrying too much about it. As long as it seems good to go...

[h=1]Neutral Good Halfling Bard (4th Level)[/h]

Ability Scores:
Strength- 13
Dexterity- 17
Constitution- 14
Intelligence- 15
Wisdom- 14
Charisma- 15

Alignment:
Neutral Good- A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment when it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

Race:
Halflings are clever, capable and resourceful survivors. They are notoriously curious and show a daring that many larger people can't match. They can be lured by wealth but tend to spend rather than hoard. They prefer practical clothing and would rather wear a comfortable shirt than jewelry. Halflings stand about 3 feet tall and commonly live to see 150.

Class:
Bards- Bards often serve as negotiators, messengers, scouts, and spies. They love to accompany heroes (and villains) to witness heroic (or villainous) deeds firsthand, since a bard who can tell a story from personal experience earns renown among his fellows. A bard casts arcane spells without any advance preparation, much like a sorcerer. Bards also share some specialized skills with rogues, and their knowledge of item lore is nearly unmatched. A high Charisma score allows a bard to cast high-level spells.

Re: burro's ark

OK, time to fess up. I ran the questions last night right after PO posted that he'd gotten brave enough to check it out. I've never played or even checked out DandD, didnt have a clue where the fasttrack answers to questions would take me. It took me so close to PO I got even more spooked than he was. and I wanted to be something else more powerful than a level 3/4, but I couldn't get there without going back and revisiting some of my answers and asking myself if I'd answered those questions very accurately the first time. some of the original answers were so true that I didn't question myself on those at all. but even after I changed some of my answers I still didn't know where I'd end up, so was an interesting exercise I'll keep to myself.

Here was what came of answering127 questions the first time through, fast, not much thought. intuitive, non-reflective. not like me at all.

True Neutral Gnome Ranger/Wizard (4th/3rd Level)

Ability Scores:
Strength- 10
Dexterity- 14
Constitution- 13
Intelligence- 13
Wisdom- 12
Charisma- 12
Alignment:
True Neutral- A true neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. He doesn't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most true neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil after all, he would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, he's not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some true neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. True neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion. However, true neutral can be a dangerous alignment when it represents apathy, indifference, and a lack of conviction.

Race:
Gnomes are in wide demand as alchemists, inventors, and technicians, though most prefer to remain among their own kind in simple comfort. Gnomes adore animals, gems, and jokes, especially pranks. They love to learn by personal experience, and are always trying new ways to build things. Gnomes stand 3 to 3.5 feet tall and live about 350 to 500 years.

Primary Class:
Rangers- Rangers are skilled stalkers and hunters who make their home in the woods. Their martial skill is nearly the equal of the fighter, but they lack the latter's dedication to the craft of fighting. Instead, the ranger focuses his skills and training on a specific enemy a type of creature he bears a vengeful grudge against and hunts above all others. Rangers often accept the role of protector, aiding those who live in or travel through the woods. His skills allow him to move quietly and stick to the shadows, especially in natural settings, and he also has special knowledge of certain types of creatures. Finally, an experienced ranger has such a tie to nature that he can actually draw on natural power to cast divine spells, much as a druid does, and like a druid he is often accompanied by animal companions. A ranger's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that he can cast.

Secondary Class:
Wizards- Wizards are arcane spellcasters who depend on intensive study to create their magic. To wizards, magic is not a talent but a difficult, rewarding art. When they are prepared for battle, wizards can use their spells to devastating effect. When caught by surprise, they are vulnerable. The wizard's strength is her spells, everything else is secondary. She learns new spells as she experiments and grows in experience, and she can also learn them from other wizards. In addition, over time a wizard learns to manipulate her spells so they go farther, work better, or are improved in some other way. A wizard can call a familiar- a small, magical, animal companion that serves her. With a high Intelligence, wizards are capable of casting very high levels of spells.

Lawful Neutral Human Paladin/Ranger (3rd/3rd Level)

Ability Scores:
Strength- 9
Dexterity- 11
Constitution- 9
Intelligence- 15
Wisdom- 14
Charisma- 13

Alignment:
Lawful Neutral- A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs him. Order and organization are paramount to him. He may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or he may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government. Lawful neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot. However, lawful neutral can be a dangerous alignment when it seeks to eliminate all freedom, choice, and diversity in society.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Primary Class:
Paladins- Paladins take their adventures seriously, and even a mundane mission is, in the heart of the paladin, a personal test an opportunity to demonstrate bravery, to learn tactics, and to find ways to do good. Divine power protects these warriors of virtue, warding off harm, protecting from disease, healing, and guarding against fear. The paladin can also direct this power to help others, healing wounds or curing diseases, and also use it to destroy evil. Experienced paladins can smite evil foes and turn away undead. A paladin's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast. Many of the paladin's special abilities also benefit from a high Charisma score.

Secondary Class:

Re: Your Wish is My Command...

i heard the strangest thing yesterday at the truck stop. i was doing the usual saturday night chili dogs and pizza thing and they must have got a new sound system or something. anyways, this sexy artificial intelligence computer voice whispers 'shower customer 89 your shower is ready'.

no crap, the intercom says that in a sultry automated voice. i didn't even think there was 89 people what take showers out here. it made me want to buy a shower, but i didn't have my flip flops. i feel like i missed out on something special.

It's about time to try thongs!!!

It would be nice if they had the same technology for the potty.
"Potty customer 89, you forgot to leave the seat down"

Re: Your Wish is My Command...

It's about time to try thongs!!!

ha! western boy huh? that's what we called them too when i was a kid, thongs!

nowadays you can't say that because it means something else, believe me. one time i went on a hike with my exwife and her two other daughters. i was helping her up a rock face path and she slipped and i grabbed her and said 'your thong is coming off'.

both girls heads whipped around, like i had cussed or something. i did not want to consider how how them girls at that age 6 & 13 knew about thongs or that their mother's might be coming off. it was a strange day.
