burrocrat's Account Talk

don't mind me, i'm just trying to make sense of it all.

it appears an image of 3 false red leg fiberglass wash basins is offensive enough to be removed, butt multiple posts of only 1 false red leg wash basins are ok. and posts of real legs are also ok. so forgive me for being confused at where exactly the too offensive red line is drawn in the sand.

maybe we would all benefit if there was a 'tsptalk after dark' private thread where folks could find an innapropriate outlet?

maybe instead of an '*' or '$' in front of the private areas it could have an 'x'? or maybe 'xxx' for this kind of material?

It's like being married - You're only allowed to have a finite amount of fun.

ift to 100G at cob today.

earlier in the week i was thinking it's about time for a good political scandal or war to break out and i should get out of the market but i didn't. then yesterday was not good and i was kicking myself for not jumping sooner. now today maybe if the prices hold up i can get out without too much damage. unless somebody says something dumb in a press conference and turns the whole thing south on me this afternoon.

ark update. it's been a volatile week. that is good for traders, but here in tsp land we only get 2 trades. that is frustrating.

mouse: 1, 0.12%, G, running.
turtle: 1, 2.41%, G, still running.
elephant: 5, 4.99%, mix, cray cray.
penguin: 1, 9.95%, G, show off.
lion: 5, 4.46%, mix, steady as she goes.
donkey: 1, 4.67%, G, running.
racoon: 2, (-5.63%), F, still chasing.
kangaroo: 1, 2.54%, G, still running.
cougar: 10, 5.79%, mix, lucky, and cray cray.
jth/wolf: 10, 8.16%, S, opposite day.
owl: 1, 0.91%, S, big nuts.
squirrel: 10, 5.21%, mix, big nuts.

el vira = 48 / 60 = -12. -12 / 60 = -20%.

get out and stay out.

i went up to the grocery store this afternoon and saw the strangest thing, a limo! yep, it was parked right on the corner with a for sale sign in the window.

now my town only has 500 folks that live here, and i didn't even know we had a limo, let alone one for sale. but it is only $6,750 or best offer or trade, and it's a real cadillac! only 185k miles, gets 20mpg, decent tires, and has a new front end. so i called the old boy up and he came down and unlocked it for me.

it was cool, probably could fit a queen bed on the floor in the back, this could be my new house. i was about to offer him $5.5k when he elbowed me and winked and said 'if you lay a clean blanket down on the seat it feels like the first time'. i got the hell out of there fast. freak!

a word of advice: never buy a used limo unless you are prepared to spend another 10k getting it reupholstered. actually now that i think about, it's probably not a good idea to buy a new limo either because if i'm working at the limo factory every single one is going to get broke in at least once before it clears the assembly line if you know what i mean. that new car smell is hard to resist.

anyways, i didn't pull the trigger today, but i might swing by after work tomorrow and see if it is still there. burro? limo? it has a nice ring to it.

I could live in a Limo, it would be fun to do the whole camping conversion thing, but I'd rather have a van with more parts availability. Not to mention it would be difficult to go unnoticed, I'm more of a under-the-radar type of fellow. A hearse would be nice too :)

ark update. this week i think it's only fitting that we talk about two of my favorite things: boobs and investing. naaah, just kidding! i'm only going to address investing, but i'll be thinking about boobs (that's perfectly legal, i do it all the time and have never got arrested for it, so there).

now that i got your attention, it occurs to me investing strategeries can be quite varied, some like to keep their cards close to their chest and others just let it all hang out. finding the right investment style can be like fitting a bra, there is no one size fits all solution. and the proper foundation can change depending on one's short term goals or stage of life, it's complicated.

with that being said, a big ole congratulations to penguin who is at a perfect 10.00, he cracked the double digit mark, sportin' big ole double d's.

mouse: 1, 0.16, g classic white, A.
turtle: 1, 2.45%, g classic white. A.
elephant: 5, 5.33%, mix wonder bra, C.
penguin: 1, 10.00%, g classic white, DD.
lion: 5, 4.53%, mix colored casual, B.
donkey: 1, 4.67%, g classic white, B. (just the way i like 'em)
racoon: 10, (-5.54%), mix colored casual, training bra.
kangaroo: 1, 2.59%, g classic white, B.
cougar: 5, 5.84%, mix wonder bra, C.
jth/wolf: 10, 7.90%, s lacy underwire, D.
owl: 10, 0.67%, s lacy underwire, A.
squirrel: 5, 5.23%, mix colored casual, C.

el vira = 55-60 = -5/60 = (-8.3%).

overall this is quite the conservative bunch, with a couple brave souls sticking out in the crowd. it might be a good time to just lay low and keep it under wraps.

Now that's hilarious, b. I must confess, lately work in the early tspmove hours has been exacting enough I don't have time to make any moves even if I wanted to, so best I stick with basic white-for the moment.

Fires, fires and more fires, 6am mornings headed to the fireline or firecamp, whichever happens to be called for that day. boots and hardhat, don't forget the gloves and fire shelter. same thing true when volatility rises, regardless of allocation.

Cotton only-if going out on the fireline, b. Cotton only. Just in case. You really really don't want a meltdown inside the Nomex.

there are some things that have been bugging me, so this place is as good as any to work it out. also, it's my 5 year anniversary on tsptalk. who would've ever thunk i could find 5 years of crap to talk about and still not be anywhere near the bottom of the list?

about this time every year i like to have an open house, like a party but more respectable, come one come all, no holds barred. it helps me with goal setting for the next year, serves as a reality check, and gives me new material to work with later. a very productive exercise if you ask me. the offer is good until 32-july or 01-aug, whichever comes first.

i call it 'bash the burro'. open season, take your shots. slug bug, no hit backs.

also, random question: what is the difference between an iron in the fire and a bun in the oven? i always get those two mixed up.

at my age i don't think so. now don't get me wrong here, my junk's still good. it's just that the still fertile ones don't want it and the non-cyclers won't take it. damn women's lib ruined everything, what a sad world when a woman don't need a man no more. that is exactly where our society went wrong if you ask me.

Burro, I almost avoided responding...but okay, I'll bite just this once! :D.

Women's lib is not at fault. Those women were not happy with any man to begin with... Or at least that is the message I get and so you gotta ask yourself the question: do you really want one of those??

I think the non- cyclers resist because they've been bossed around enough in life and do not want to be bossed around for what little time remains. For example, Don't want to listen to a man correct me on how to screw in a light bulb, etc. i mean really...how many different ways could there be and does it really matter as long as it works??? Or why are you using an incandescent bulb?? They waste electricity...and i say...but I like them!! And that is just the tip of the iceberg!! Hummm.... Sex?? Let me see...is it worth it under those circumstances??? Not really...so see, there you have the truth.

If your not a pain in the arse, then you need to convince someone of that because menfolk, in general, don't have the best reputation in that area and the non-cyclers know it cuz they learned it the hard way!! They have served their time!! So its Time to be a Freebird!!! :) Now if you offer true love and affection and your not a constant pain in the arse....then you have a chance but that is much longer discussion.

So there are always exceptions, but you would need to convince someone you have the right stuff..... Not an easy thing to do but it is possible. In the end, love is a two way street that works best when filled with mutual love, affection, respect and passion ( and without nagging in either direction).

As for cyclers, they might not yet know your ways, so better chance with them ...
