Birchtree's Account Talk

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Not sure... I don't believe I would honor those words with a reply, but the beauty of it, is THERE IS STILL FREEDOM OF SPEECH IN THIS COUNTRY, and that applies to the meek, the ARROGANT, the smart ones and then to the rest of them all.

Cornellia,
I think you misunderstood. Love2Read was telling Buster "Good One" - and I would really agree with that. It's like: "Oh WOW! Grab the popcorn - this should be fun".

Anyway - somethings are worth the trouble, time, or effort and other things are simply left better defused and done.

Thanks, Steady! Yes, I was referring to the popcorn emoticon, not any words that were exchanged.:D

I spent a couple days in my garden - getting my head straight. I'm now ready for the bull market to resume - be right and sit tight.
Welcome back, Birch! :)

No, I did not, that was precisely my point. I did not think it was going to be fun, saw nothing funny or entertaining about it. But then again, THIS IS A FREE COUNTRY AND MAY GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Re: Birchtree's account talk

We should get our new all-time high past 5446 on the Transports very soon like in the next 30 minutes. I'd like to see a 30 point gain on the SPX before the close.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

DJTA n ow at 5460.17 +72.43 and holding. No stinking bear market here. Just a healthy correction in an on going mega trend secular bull market. Be right and sit tight.

Would agree with that my man - things are looking good and the days of this 1 or 2 days in is a thing of the past.

So will carry forward ONE week at a time (maybe 2)

Hi Buster, could not log back in until now:

Yes, too bad, Steady spoiled all the "fun" you guys were getting ready to watch, sorry... However, for next time, this is how I like mine: DOUBLE BUTTERED, WITH EXTRA PORTION OF EXTRA CHEESE FLAVORED SALT, AND A HUGE FROZEN MUG OF ROOT BEER. Now, THAT is fun! I am serious, and you know what is nicer than that? My good metabolism won't let me put on any extra weight, so it's like with all that I consume 0 calories. Life is good!:D

Re: Birchtree's account talk

The DJTA closed at 5492.95 +105.21 for a new all-time high. Only 28 more points on the DJUA for its' new all-time high. Yup, uptrends are notorious for sharp and short declines to keep the majority off balance. If the MCSUM rising bottoms lines continues to hold, this would be another divergent structure that would be developing in this same process of correction.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Of course you are right my friend.

Please except my humble appologies - and no offense is taken what so ever - as you descibed me perfectly.

I'm really impressed.

PEACE my friend.. Make Love and not War

Let us all drift in the universal spirit of harmony

and this:

Steadygain,

You impress us more and more every day. Boy, you are good and don't we have a lot to learn from you! :D This was so well said I will keep it in my book of memories. Thanks!

PEACE AND LOVE TO ALL!

Sarcasm taken. Steady no offense but you sound like a Jimmy Hendrix wannabe but that's the nice thing about free speech - you can even have mindless followers and say whatever you please which is a good thing. Perhaps joining hands and singing cumbya will make you fell complete - perhaps a little harsh but I couldn't help myself. There goes that free speech thing again. ;)

Let me give you a short bio. My father who was known on this board as wht00ss in effect gave his life for his country because there was nothing he wouldn't do to make things better. He receive the silver star, bronze star and purple heart where he served in Korea and Vietnam before his recent passing away and was buried with full military honors at Arlington Cemetery and he met and knew John McCain and they both had a mutual respect for each other.

My father told me very little about the wars he was in that being the end of WWII, Korean war, and the Vietnam war. He told me if you weren't there you simply can't explain the brotherhood that soldiers experience. The only specific experience he relayed to me was when his best friend was around 50 yards away on a hilltop in Korea and one minute he was there and the next nothing left after literally being directly hit by a mortar - this he said with tears in his eyes 50 years later. That's what he had to learn to live with which I personally am not sure I could do. One thing he made me do was read Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" and the Fountainhead" two very interesting books but unfortunately very few people actually read anymore - and a ton of stock books. He especially like Thomas Bulkowski and I will be forever in my father's debt.

After he retired he was fortunate enough to make a significant amount of money in the stock market as a stockbroker and trading for himself but he always gave back. He did't have to work another day in his life but he started his own animal shelter zoned it out and I currently have 52 animals that I take care of with the help of some outstanding people. Closest to his heart were his true loves ChowChows but he took in all animals and gave them equal love. Last year we spent 1.2m on our operations and other less fortunate shelters that don't put the animals to sleep. This couldn't have been done without the selfless acts from vets who donated their time down to the care givers/ dog walkers which kept overhead costs to 8% - I have taken over the overall duties and responsibilties and am a corporate lawyer by trade ( yes I know all the jokes :D) but it has always been my goal to carry out my father's wishes - hardest of all is managing an 8 figure sum for my family that I didn't earn (well I earned some of it) but have the responsibility too ensure its growth.

My mother who is 77 years old CSRS is in the process of retiring. She has been a lawyer and judge for SSA and I finally convinced her especially after this TSP fiasco to retire. If their is anyone who deserves it, it is she. Before opening your mouth about what I spend on a car which is simply beyond me why would you care? Why the detrimental comments. You don't know me and never will.

As a side notes what's most naive which is the democrats selling point is to equate George Bush to McCain and to equate their policies. McCain is his own man who spent 6 years in a hole being tortured and when the North Vietnamese found out who his father was they were going to let him go but he would not leave without the release of the other prisoners. That says a lot for character and in my opinion the ability to make good decisions under pressure. There is never a guarantee but I admire a man of principle and character. Can you say the same?

I guess even posting too you Birchtree personally about something from a few month ago can't help getting the peanut galleries input even though they don't know the slightest context of what is being said.

I enjoy reading some of the posts here on occasion and especially Tom's morning view but that's why I really don't visit here much anymore because of the ridiculously stupid comments by people who aren't even privy to a conversation. Just like the democrats let's take it out of context. All I have to say is you better watch out what you wish for cause you might just get it. That's to you steadygain. I guess my Arrogance is popping through again.

Please don't reply too this post because all the bases have been pretty much covered and you can go back to printing bumper stickers in your basement with Charlie Sheen about how bad or country is. What I don't understand is if you don't like it here the world is a big place where Im sure you can find a more suitable home.

As a side note my Grandparents cleaned railroad cars in the depression after coming over from Europe and there were never prouder Americans. My family got where they got through hard work and saving/investing their money. That money help send me to law school at Stanford and it's my time to give back and be the father but it is not a crime to enjoy the good things in life if you can afford it.

By the way for your eyes only Birchtree I did pretty good for May with a 12.232% with no money at all in the TSP as a limiting factor. Birchtree just ask for a confirmation on this and you shall receive.

Sorry Birchtree - I will no longer post opinions in your account talk because it has become pointless for obvious reasons - some people simply don't have a clue. Best too you and your accounts and keep on plugging along.

Cayman,
Our conscious thoughts are but remnants of our subconscious thoughts as they filter through. On a much deeper level I could tell you were very much wanting my heart felt responses - to gather what insights I could - and perhaps help you deal better with who and what you really are.

So I will give it my best. Whenever I see anything to do with you there are 2 images that stand out.

The first is something that looks like a donkey: An Ass
The second is a bottle of whiskey...or something similar: Liquor

And so these 2 images dominate everything about you:
Ass + Liquor

I especially see this when you're mainly with men - lots of men

So I closed my eyes and mediatated on these 2 images and kept repeating them over and over and the answer sprung out like the sun's rays breaking through the clouds.

This is what you are my friend - I know this and I except it - now you must accept it and be content with who you are.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

I come here for Dennis' rah rah to keep me from depression on the big dips. We're supposed to play nice around here. While you two guys are attempting to be polite (how can you say no offense and then be offensive?) and subtle or sarcastic, you don't need to keep trying at it to prove it unsuccessful. Both of you have made great contributions for the benefit of dummies like me. Can we continue in that vein now? And post forward thinking opinions on the market? Cayman, you've had some great takes looking forward! Or at least explain to Dennis that his Wave 3a sub-Ripple 4 Eruption 12 Trough 7 means something?

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Sorry - honestly. I don't know this guy at all and I really tried to just end the BS yesterday.

Anyway - as far as I'm concerned it's over and I won't feed into anymore. Seriously, I'll just ignore further responses. SORRY IF I OFFENDED ANYONE

WE SHOULD GET ALONG AND BE COOL WITH ONE ANOTHER

Re: Birchtree's account talk

I will simply say that calling Cayman a Donkey can be considered a low blow - he's more an Elephant. The song that best suits him is "The Baby Elephant Walk". Now I'll go back to loosing money and wait for the next rally. Israel has got the market concerned today about comments made regarding destroying the nuclear facilities in Iran as inevitable. I wish they would just do it, then the world would be safer - we can handle them on the ground.

Point well taken. I was going to I Fund 100% today and then hear that. Oil will spike to $200. Looks like Oil is the play now and the stocks are the sideshow.

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Good thing theres no weapons lying around here, eh? :D (In a virtual sense)

Everybody just stay calm. The markets suck today and it has us all on edge.
I hate OIL!!!

Thank God its Friday!!!
Now you all have my permission to just chill and surf the internet for some good soft porn. One of man's greatest inventions. We can all come together on that. ;)

Have a good weekend all.

P.S. Birchtree, until you turn negative on this stock market we will all suffer. We are all waiting for you to capitulate....Then we'll get that mid-90's type rally for the next 5 years and all be millionaires, like yourself

Re: Birchtree's account talk

Boy I wish I could cut and run - but I'm trying to stay creative and long. We still have bottoms above bottoms in most indexes - today only balances out yesterday so not that much damage. I say let oil prices run - I own drillers, refining, oil field equipment, natural gas and nat gas storage - let'em bring on the pain. I own trains, train repair, train builders, and train track manufacturers. I own utilities to include nuclear and most anything it takes to build a new nuclear plant to include cement. Let the price of food increase - I own commodity stocks, grocers, fertilizers, farm equipment and other related industrial equipment to include irrigation stocks - even lawn mower and small engine stocks. I'm covered to either make it or break it. It's on the line and it's staying there. Snort. The only thing I apparently don't own is solar and wind.

Im thinking about buying some beaten down automakers here. I believe many people will do as I did last year and trade in their SUV for a smaller car or hybrid.

I bought Oil at $55 a barrel and sold around $90, never dreaming it would go up like it did. I also owned a Natural Resouce fund and PBW (Solar) but cashed in on the gains last year

I did my part. I traded in an '06 Acura MDX for a '07 Nissan Altima Hybrid and getting 37 miles to the gallon as opposed to the 15 mpg I was getting with the Acura. My kids dont have their DVD system in the back or their 3rd row but they understand why Dad did it.
