Re: Birchtree's account talk
Of course you are right my friend.
Please except my humble appologies - and no offense is taken what so ever - as you descibed me perfectly.
I'm really impressed.
PEACE my friend.. Make Love and not War
Let us all drift in the universal spirit of harmony
and this:
Steadygain,
You impress us more and more every day. Boy, you are good and don't we have a lot to learn from you!
This was so well said I will keep it in my book of memories. Thanks!
PEACE AND LOVE TO ALL!
CorMaGa34
and
Not sure... I don't believe I would honor those words with a reply, but the beauty of it, is THERE IS STILL FREEDOM OF SPEECH IN THIS COUNTRY, and that applies to the meek, the ARROGANT, the smart ones and then to the rest of them all.
CorMaGa34
Sarcasm taken. Steady no offense but you sound like a Jimmy Hendrix wannabe but that's the nice thing about free speech - you can even have mindless followers and say whatever you please which is a good thing. Perhaps joining hands and singing cumbya will make you fell complete - perhaps a little harsh but I couldn't help myself. There goes that free speech thing again.
Let me give you a short bio. My father who was known on this board as wht00ss in effect gave his life for his country because there was nothing he wouldn't do to make things better. He receive the silver star, bronze star and purple heart where he served in Korea and Vietnam before his recent passing away and was buried with full military honors at Arlington Cemetery and he met and knew John McCain and they both had a mutual respect for each other.
My father told me very little about the wars he was in that being the end of WWII, Korean war, and the Vietnam war. He told me if you weren't there you simply can't explain the brotherhood that soldiers experience. The only specific experience he relayed to me was when his best friend was around 50 yards away on a hilltop in Korea and one minute he was there and the next nothing left after literally being directly hit by a mortar - this he said with tears in his eyes 50 years later. That's what he had to learn to live with which I personally am not sure I could do. One thing he made me do was read Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" and the Fountainhead" two very interesting books but unfortunately very few people actually read anymore - and a ton of stock books. He especially like Thomas Bulkowski and I will be forever in my father's debt.
After he retired he was fortunate enough to make a significant amount of money in the stock market as a stockbroker and trading for himself but he always gave back. He did't have to work another day in his life but he started his own animal shelter zoned it out and I currently have 52 animals that I take care of with the help of some outstanding people. Closest to his heart were his true loves ChowChows but he took in all animals and gave them equal love. Last year we spent 1.2m on our operations and other less fortunate shelters that don't put the animals to sleep. This couldn't have been done without the selfless acts from vets who donated their time down to the care givers/ dog walkers which kept overhead costs to 8% - I have taken over the overall duties and responsibilties and am a corporate lawyer by trade ( yes I know all the jokes

) but it has always been my goal to carry out my father's wishes - hardest of all is managing an 8 figure sum for my family that I didn't earn (well I earned some of it) but have the responsibility too ensure its growth.
My mother who is 77 years old CSRS is in the process of retiring. She has been a lawyer and judge for SSA and I finally convinced her especially after this TSP fiasco to retire. If their is anyone who deserves it, it is she. Before opening your mouth about what I spend on a car which is simply beyond me why would you care? Why the detrimental comments. You don't know me and never will.
As a side notes what's most naive which is the democrats selling point is to equate George Bush to McCain and to equate their policies. McCain is his own man who spent 6 years in a hole being tortured and when the North Vietnamese found out who his father was they were going to let him go but he would not leave without the release of the other prisoners. That says a lot for character and in my opinion the ability to make good decisions under pressure. There is never a guarantee but I admire a man of principle and character. Can you say the same?
I guess even posting too you Birchtree personally about something from a few month ago can't help getting the peanut galleries input even though they don't know the slightest context of what is being said.
I enjoy reading some of the posts here on occasion and especially Tom's morning view but that's why I really don't visit here much anymore because of the ridiculously stupid comments by people who aren't even privy to a conversation. Just like the democrats let's take it out of context. All I have to say is you better watch out what you wish for cause you might just get it. That's to you steadygain. I guess my Arrogance is popping through again.
Please don't reply too this post because all the bases have been pretty much covered and you can go back to printing bumper stickers in your basement with Charlie Sheen about how bad or country is. What I don't understand is if you don't like it here the world is a big place where Im sure you can find a more suitable home.
As a side note my Grandparents cleaned railroad cars in the depression after coming over from Europe and there were never prouder Americans. My family got where they got through hard work and saving/investing their money. That money help send me to law school at Stanford and it's my time to give back and be the father but it is not a crime to enjoy the good things in life if you can afford it.
By the way for your eyes only Birchtree I did pretty good for May with a 12.232% with no money at all in the TSP as a limiting factor. Birchtree just ask for a confirmation on this and you shall receive.
Sorry Birchtree - I will no longer post opinions in your account talk because it has become pointless for obvious reasons - some people simply don't have a clue. Best too you and your accounts and keep on plugging along.
