Re: Paid Services or Free with help...

Hello Tom,
As I post on EBB thread,I think the pay pal button should be on the home page so anyone who wants to contribute to TSPTALK,EBB has the way to do it I think many people will.My husband suggests that you can ask people who get to this web site should click on the ads so you can get credit for that. Thanks for replying to me last time,I have known this site about 10 months I don't know anything about Rev Shark,if I don't know anything about his investing style I hesistate to sucribe..that is one of disadvantages of charging you only get limited number of subcriptions to people already know him.You still get the revenue from the ads and still have pay pal contribution.Thx

Re: ebbnflow's Account Talk

I think the pay pal button should be on the home page if anyone wants to contribute to EBB and I think that many people do.

We got great people on here!

Zimmy,

I'm not sure, but I will PM Tom or better yet I can ask it on the Ask Tom Thread. I know he has rearrange the homepage to make it easier navigate. Ill copy it over there and provide a link here. :D http://www.tsptalk.com/mb/showthread.php?p=112018#post112018

Tom, You said this morning "moving the stop loss up for this trade to ensure a profit."

For those of us in Rio Linda, what does that mean?

Trader Fred's F-fund trade bought in at 11.37. The old stop loss was 11.31. He is moving that to 11.39 so as to not take a loss if for some reason the bond market starts to head down to that level without getting a sell signal first. System Stop Loss Analysis

Ask Tom,
Question: RE: Inverse Funds/Forward indicators.
I know that there are a lot of funds that react opposite to other funds.
i.e., Rates go up, bonds go down. Dollar goes down, Gold goes up!
What are some other funds relative to TSP funds that we might watch??
Are any of the funds kind of forward indicators?

Euphoria peaks, stocks go down. Fear peaks, stocks go up.

But serious, I'll have to think about that.

Attention all who tried to sign up today-

We are still having some issues.

Tom has written a brief info piece at this web address:

http://www.tsptalk.com/problems.doc

Ocean is aware of the problem with the autotracker too, and is working the issue.

Sorry- we'll try and keep everyone updated as best we can.

Thank you for waiting- we're trying to get it right.....

OK- update- as of 7:41 pm.

Ocean has the Autotracker fixed. It works now.

We still don't have today's fund prices fixed.

As for the premium service issues, Tom is still working it.

Please stand by.....

Tom has posted that things are working now.

Here is Tom's latest message, from the "problems.doc" link above. You can go there and get additional details.

Anyway- here is what Tom just posted a short time ago:

Two questions

1. Does the G fund just keep going up until it is $30 or more and pays a penny?
2. What happens to the dividends paid to the stock funds?

Two questions

1. Does the G fund just keep going up until it is $30 or more and pays a penny?

answer: yes, the g fund just continues to pay, there is no upper limit. It is investing in government fixed rate funds- so it will pay a market based interest rate payout with no chance of going down. The payout is now very low historically speaking. In the 80's and early 90's, it paid about 8% per year. right now that is down around the 4% per year mark, meaing it will pay a penny about once every 6.72 days. This month the penny should be paying on thursdays.

2. What happens to the dividends paid to the stock funds?

Answer: they are rolled into fund value price as they are paid out, so we never see a seperate line item for dividends.

ASK TOM: INTERFUND Transfer for Tues

TOM, You give the time to make the change, but not the date....
If I make an interfund transfer today, Fri, after noon, it should be processed and in effect for Tues.... correct.
********
Note from Tom:
If you are planning on making an interfund transfer in the near future, the TSP had this posted on their website:

100507c.gif

I believe that means if you want to make a transfer that will be effective on Tuesday of next week, it has to be done between 12 noon ET and possibly 4 PM ET (I'm not certain of the latter time). The market is open Monday, but the TSP does not process transactions because of the Federal holiday.

tom;

where can i find all the months seasonality charts
maybe you could put them where everyone can access them

maddog

Maddog - I just post the current chart on the comments page. They are "loaned" from sentimentrader.com who let's me use their data as long as I don't abuse the priviledge.

I would highly recommend sentimentrader.com - they have hundreds of fascinating charts on their sites. They do cost $19.95/mo though  :).

Actually.... a lot of those guests are search engine spiders snooping around.
Been a lurker for over a year now. Had to request my password be reset to log on. Seems my last official visit was 09-18-2006 according to the welcome message at the top right corner of this window, but I read your market comment almost daily. I didn't write down the exact number but I find it very unlikely that 250+ guests being reported currently are spiders. I'll check again tomorrow and be even more doubtful that many spiders would be checking us out daily.

Although I may be wrong.
