alevin's account talk

Hey tsunami, hey archangel, we're nearly neighbors, sent you a pm, aa. tsu, i'm a high desert kinda gal by nature myself-
lakeview? prineville? burns? i know the country well, one of my favorite parts of the world.

whenever we have a regional tsptalk roundup, we'll have to sample some Columbia Valley wines together.:)

Hey listen Baby Scoots :embarrest:

There is 'nothing' about my life that supercedes something as huge as you breaking your arm. My 'mattters' in no way would ever 'Trump' your trials and tribs ----

-- my gosh -- with pins and all -- WOW !!!

PLEASE!!! Let me know when something like this happens.

Please PM me the details -- how much pain you're in and what to expect and all.

GET SUPER WELL SOON !!!

Steady, thank you for the good wishes. worst part of the pain is behind me, by almost 2 weeks now. no idea how long cast is reqired. chipped wrist at age 19 required cast for 2 months, even without pins. i expect nothing less at this point timewise. now you know as much as i do. one day at a time.

Thanks for the unbirthday card, Maggie. sometimes they are just as good as the on-time ones. this one is. And the birthday was a good one too. feeling like I'm finally getting my mojo back.

Found this today-a followup on the DeMark indicator status I posted about a month ago. the very last post (chart) in the link says we hit a DeMark triple top yesterday-weekly, daily counts, and also a 5th wave on weekly i had been totally unaware of. had not realized deMark worked with waves as well as counts. all we need now is a price flip on the weekly, when we get it, i'm out til a better signal shows up.

learning a few things from these guys, one thing i knew i didnt quite understand-i finally do today. they have a bunch of other stuff on their charts i havent even begun to learn yet either. keeps my analytical brain productively engaged-i like puzzles.

Well my little kitten,

I am sooo thrilled to hear the details -- as horrible as they are -- but knowing them does wonders for me.

When my wrists were broken, elbow shattered, hip broken, right eye jarred loose and the bone above my left eye fractured .... it was all a result of a vicious attempt to kill me. Sooo unfortunately that's the only reference source I have to use ....

I mainly 'needed' to know how it happened -- and especially knowing it wasn't inflicted on you.

I'm right on the verge of a 'new beginning' and it is more wonderous than anything I've ever known.

I hope you the absolute BEST in every way and in every day.

Your bulldog brother

That wonderful analytical brain of yours! Just keep studying ... and sharing what you learn, of course! LOL

Hello Alevin, Hope the healing process continues to go well! I know its tough to be stuck in the house and not able to do all the things you want to. Get well soon!

wow, i havent been here in several days, all kinds of visitors stopped by. welcome all and thank you all for well wishes, scout, steady. life not simple at the moment but managing with help of friends as needed.

Maggie knows my penchant for learning indicators well. my effort to have objective basis for decision-making. no one indicator by itself, i decided awhile back, look for confirmation on higher timeframe when in doubt-one lesson i've learned. if daily, i always look at weekly too. I look at monthly for long term, weekly for intermediate trends.

2 of my current indicators I'm lately finally learning how to apply for individual stocks/etfs = coppock curve and williams R. (tips I got from some other sites)

DeMark requires much more effort. there is book published by Bloomberg Press I aquired several months ago, tsunami. DeMark Indicators by Jason Perl. I have to refer to it for all the subtleties, dont think anyone could remember all of it except DeMark himself. thank you for that link.

it explains some of the most basic applications of his system i've fairly well come to understand and recognize by now-and tried to show in some of the charts i've posted previously. . the 9-13-9 pattern the article referenced ended april 2010. we just completed the same exact pattern last week-the 18th.

there are very few charting programs that include demark indicators, which is why ive been irregularly posting ones i hand drew myself. :embarrest:

I just found the worden site (link) last week, their software allows demark charting. woohoo! Im on cloud 9. maybe i'll get better at it now. :toung: bloomberg terminals are for professional traders, i cant afford their access.

but the article you found took me to bloomberg and a couple more books available there about using demark indicators. may have to spend some more $, i didnt know there were more books out on them.

So, more DeMarktalk tonight. Day 6 of a 9 day-count down. Week 2 of a 9week count down. The first big drop happened before the tsunami right when DeMark indicators said to expect something like that.

In my last post here (up above), I said that "the 9-13-9 pattern the article referenced ended april 2010. we just completed the same exact pattern last week-the 18th."

And then we went into a period of 12 days of uncertainty, where according to DeMark, things should break one way or the other by the end of that time-things broke bigtime on day 13-and no, DeMark did not make the tsunami happen. The timing is a little eerie tho. :worried:

So couple weeks ago I was in the lowly 400 club, tonight I'm in the lofty nifty 50, with aspirations to become a 10 again. once upon a time and long long ago....

I'm waiting to see how the 9count goes on the daily. this time I'm looking at Williams %R, slow sto (thanks Birch), and ADX all combined with the DeMark counts.

One or more of them tells me its time to take a chance, I'll start rolling cash off the sidelines. unless something stronger says stay put awhile longer. so far its paying off right now.

Thanks Alevin. Good info.

I have been exploring the ichimoku cloud analysis on the charts. Current indicators are worrisome. Adding the DeMark indicators really increases the predictive toolkit.

Good luck and I hope to see you in the top 10 some day.

Hi Malyla. Good to see you up and talking. Yes, I still look at Ichimokus too. they help with exit signals, I'm not so good at spotting good entry points with them tho. I keep working and learning. by the time I get to retirement, maybe I'll have it all figured out-and still have enough of a stash left to make it all worth the effort.

Well, AT doesnt accurately reflect my real account at the moment. don't know whats going on, but I realized the other day that even tho I have confirmation letters from tsp for 3 IFTs I made in Jan-Feb and the confirmations show the correct percentages IFT'd, that they didn't actually make those IFTs for me-it says IFT happened but the IFT was 0%.

So I thought I was in G and F but I havent been the last several weeks. I've been in G, S and a tidbit of I. So tomorrow I'm going to get back in sync with Sentiment Survey and sell what I have in S and I.

And THEN I'm going to figure out if I should raise a stink about the IFTs not happening despite having confirmation letters in tsp.gov saying they happened. got to find out if I'd have been further ahead or if I'm better off not making a stink-AFTER I get out tomorrow.:suspicious:

This has never happened to me before-them confirming the IFT in writing with correct percentages, but the transactions register saying the IFT was 0%. did that to me 3 times before I realized a few days ago what wasn't happening. BUT the most recent IFT shows an IFT that really did happen as intended last week (I had some in C due to an earlier IFT not going through after they told me it did). I pulled it out last week and the transaction register shows I no longer have any in C.

Anyone else ever have that happen to them?

That's weird- you did this online?

That's weird- you did this online?

Yes, I did the IFTs online through agency HR dashboard, at work, from work computer. log into tsp.gov from there, there are confirmation letters in tsp.gov and they correctly show the amounts I supposedly transferred, but the recent transactions data in tsp.gov says the IFTs on those dates happened but that I shifted 0%. truly truly weird.

I'm so buried in work deadlines at the moment mentally can't focus on chasing it to figure out what I want to do about it til can breathe a little slower. :(

DeMark chatter tonight. I took a hard look at $USD weekly today. 9weeks-down completed (buy setup), and haven't dropped below the base of the last 9-up. That indicates we're heading into the next set of 13 weeks-down- the "countdown" to a buy on the $USD.

Me, I've been holding 40% S for a couple months, even when I thought I was out-because I didn't realize a couple IFTs out and in during Jan and Feb didn't happen-even tho I got confirmation letters saying they did-but the "recent transactions" register in tsp.gov shows IFTs with big fat zero% change in them.

Problem is that you have to tell them within 30 days about a problem with the IFT-I didn't catch either mishap in time because I trusted the confirmation pages I got by email. Never again, Mr. Ranger, never again.

The most recent IFT (#3 for the year) did show up in the "recent transactions" list so I'm currently sitting 40% S (rode it down) and trying to hang onto my sticky pants until the SS tells me otherwise. Incidentally, there's been no weekly bearish price flip in $EMW (S-substitute)-yet. Another reason to hang onto the sticky pants a day longer-maybe. If I got out now, I'd about break even on the last entry. Hard to hang on-fingernails embedded.

original chart is courtesy of Barcharts.com. Chart that shows one of many momentum indicators and interpretation of downward momentum it shows.

Chart also shows acceleration in upward trend when the trend switched-but its easy to see acceleration just by looking at the price bar pattern, how the bars get bigger and longer and trend gets steeper each day once it starts-until it stalls out.

I prepped a DeMark chart tonight, same source as the other I uploaded tonight but for some reason its not being able to find second chart to upload. tried several times, don't know whats wrong. oh well, have to try again another night.

suffice it to say that momentum is down-as of end of this week, support is slightly below 72 on $usd if the next leg down continues as indicator currently predicts. :worried:

That's the nice thing about DeMark indicators-they are predictive and not lagging indicators. :)
