These 2 links prove why it is almost impossible for investors today to come out ahead.(they are both from today 7-30-10) Who's right? Who's wrong? It makes your head spin trying to keep up with it. I'm going to use one of my IFT's tommorow, heres what I'm thinking. G %40 F %25 S%10 I %25

One article says the economy is slowing, the other is obama saying the economy is recovering...AHHHHHH! ....oh yeah I almost forgot to add a pic..here

And only a politician is dumb enough to make the following statement:

"Our economy is growing again instead of shrinking," Obama said. "And that's a welcome sign compared to where we were. But we've got to keep on increasing that rate of growth and keep adding jobs so we can keep moving forward."​
America's GDP growth went from 3.7% in the 1st Quarter to 2.4% this past quarter. Unless we are using some form of new math with imaginary numbers I don't think we are increasing the rate of GDP growth. Kinda looks like the opposite. Maybe he'll be elated when the 3rd Quarter comes in at a 1.1% rate of growth in GDP. And, an amazing -0.2% in the 4th Quarter.

Also, I really don't think anybody wants to keep adding jobs at the rate we keep losing them.

Moving forward like we are doing will solve our illegal immigration problem. It will be Mexico's and Canada's problem soon enough:p. Me, I'm making plans to sneak into Greece and grub myself a cushy gubmint job. I'm still quick enough to dodge the bottles, rocks, and molitov cocktails:nuts:

hear hear afishegg, did you know that if you park two school busses close enough and patch together some kind of pass through then you got yourself a doublewide right there? the clandestine crop in the shed is just gravy.

do you know where your food comes from? can you kill and process it all by yourself?

tip: go long on consumable commodities basic supply and demand play but hold them physically not on paper. and go short on infrastructure commodities like copper and lead, anybody ready and willing to put them into play already has enough already.

getting ugly here, but i'm allin the market, if it works out i will be squattin in the tall cotton, if not it won't matter, i hope we're wrong.

speaking of squatting, isn't that cotton softer than cottonwood for purposes relating to hygiene? :laugh:

Got myself a heapin helpin collection of rifles, from black shiny military style ones to ones with oakwood stocks. Also I make my own beef jerky,beer,wine,cheese. I can kill a deer from 100yrds away in a full sprint!
The bus thing is a little too tacky for my tastes though.:laugh:

Run at a full sprint while shooting a deer at 100 yards with a bow and arrow and you expect me to take a picture of myself doing it. Tall order.:nuts:

I must admit I am an avid fisherman and have been known to spin a few doosies.

HAHA, You bought it?:nuts: I WAS fudging the truth a little with that one. I could hit it if I had a saw automatic. I do make my own beef jerky,cheese and beer though, but that stuffs pretty easy. I do some hunting, but I'd rather garden and make preserves, much easier, or trap a hog here and there, that aint so hard.

Better get your deer runnin/gunnin boots ready and learn to make hog or possum jerky and your own beer oh and move into the doublewide on the lake if you plan on enjoyin any type of retirement in this lifetime cuz this is whats comin down the pipe soon folks....DOOM and GLOOM!

Looks like we might be havin ourselves a down month. This from cnn money.

And this from Bloomberg as to the end of year outcome.

Aug. 9 (Bloomberg) -- "Goldman Sachs Group Inc. lowered its year-end forecast for the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index to 1,200 from 1,250 and reduced its 2011 earnings projection, citing weakening economic forecasts.
S&P 500 companies will post combined profit of $89 a share next year, compared with Goldman Sachs’ prior estimate of $93, according to David Kostin, the New York-based equity strategist. Jan Hatzius, the firm’s chief U.S. economist, lowered his prediction for 2011 growth in gross domestic product to 1.9 percent from 2.4 percent on Aug. 6.
“The weak GDP growth forecast and specter of deflation means top-line sales increases will be hard to achieve,”

I wanna try and show some of you why I don't vote anymore as do according to some estimates up %50 or more of americans. Many of you might know who Peter schiff is, he is one of the economists who called the economic collapse of 07' o8'. Well he "tried" to get into politics in the CT gop race but here is who beat him [I shake my head in disbelief]. I wanna remind people also who still DO vote, you are partly responsible for the actions these politicians make when they are in office.

Is it just me or does it seem like this is some bad dream where you just KNOW your gonna wake up, except this isnt a dream, a WWE WRESTLING founder won!?!?!? I believe people are so easily swayed nowa days because they just don't have the time nor do they care enough to dig deeper into who candidates are. People do not vote on anything other than who's face they see on t.v and if you can spend millions more and get your face on t.v more often than the other guy well, YOU WIN! A brain dead constituancy will get everything they asked for.

One more though.
There is no political solution to the problems of the US....Witness the fact that someone like Schiff can only gain access to office via the corrupt Republican party. The people who have the insight and knowledge to be really effective are shut out of the process.
Something major and different must be attempted and I think it eventually will! Tell me what you guys think?

I actually like Linda. She knows how to run a successful business which is terribly lacking on the donkey side of the isle. She sure ain't no community organizer and her business experience is what our economy needs - enough of this NINA redistribution to the at risk class.

Not voting does not relieve you of responsibility for actions that politicians take. It just puts you in the irresponsible cheap seats. It's like taking your football and going home because you were picked last.

That's what I think.
