Does anyone know what the I Fund UFV is for today?
With my luck, we'll probably get hooked again!

To continue to use the reference UFV to refer to fair valuation may unfairly link you to a specific board participant (now evidently persona non grata).

For an explanation of the FV process, you may refer to the TSP Website, or read several detailed discussions regarding this issue on this site.

Really, it is not unfair so much as it is not totally predictable given the info we have access to. Someday, maybe a Barclays rep will find this board and enlighten us regarding the Dark Art, and give us the secret missing ingredient(s) that cause our fair experts occasional distress, and leads to recriminations of Arbitrary!

It is the FV that protects us from those on the outside from raiding the market while we set in the daily TSP limbo land.

Good luck! :)

I've read most of the discussions about the FV, but I still don't completely understand it. OK, I'll refer to it as FV, but I still think it is unfair, sometimes!!! Have a great weekend!!! :cheesy:

I don't really understand it either :D, and I agree, it sometimes does seem unfair, that is unless I am gaining rather than losing. You have a great weekend as well!

Yep, it was me! How Unfair to credit it to You Know Who,,,-- wait it's ok to use his name. It's kind of like talking about the dead I guess? Don't say anything bad, but you're not dead, right Greg?:D

I should have figured it was you...cause you're Nnuuts!
Hope this afternoon everything goes back to where it was earlier this morning. Have a great weekend....

Does anyone know what the FV for today is now? If the I Fund stays where it is and the FV is what TSPLookup shows, I'm in the GREEN today, for a change. Nah, it can't be, that's too good to be true!!! :toung:

Doesn't look like one to me, unless it falls or rallys by the end of the day. RELAX!! The smoking lamp is lit!!:D

There is some unwinding of the Yen carry trade. The dollar has also fallen significantly. This will either lessen the -FV or completely cancel it. The situation is similar to last Friday. I remember because I got hung out to dry with no -FV for Monday.

Shanghai made another lower low last night and the chart looks bad.

Just based on the dollar crashing and it is Friday. Barclay will not -FV us today. The market also rebounded a tad.

I agree. The EFA chart factors in the dollar and is the only major index that ended above -.50% (FV trigger). At 11:36 AM ET, the EFA was at 81.08 and ended with 80.77 at COB (a movement of only -.38%). Not enough for an FV.

But you never know with Barclays. It seems like they have different people figuring out the FVs everyday. :notrust:

This is so funny. When I wrote that the Dow was down 100 points. Maybe on Monday, if I want the market to crash, I'll just have to say that the markets were going to have a big rally in the afternoon causing a +FV??:D
