Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

At these levels, we should see a bounce tomorrow. But if we don't get a bounce and the OEX falls hard through the 50 MA, then it might be time to run for cover.:D The dollar should fall again tomorrow.

Supports don't hold in these situations. When I wrote that yesterday, I was not kidding. It is time to run for cover! I think I'll bail to F. It's a good thing I had some gains to loose.

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

The price will still be above $23.00 - I need lower than that before I reposition the Mrs. to international. Under $22.00 will garner my attention.

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

Rod the reason you got burned as bad as you did is because you stayed in G-fund for so long.

Yeah, that was b/c military duties kept me away from tracking the markets.

But, I could have at least maintained a conservative allocation.

Lesson learned, so you all can learn from me!:embarrest:

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

Yes I see your point nnuut..........Maybe another day in the G Fund for me is better and see how things go tomorrow.
I can't tell anyone how to play this, if you exit stage le"F"t and it bounces back like a SUPERBALL you have to be ready to kick your own butt! I went to the "F" yesterday I'm in a different seat, it looks good from safe haven, just waiting and see when things will straighten out! Good luck everyone!:o

No way were going to stay above $23.00! It may not happen today, but tomorrow were going down below 23.

Birch your a brave man to stay in the C fund.

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

Jeff,

I wasn't looking forward to having to pay over $16.00 for my next C fund DCA, but now I'm even more pleased to get it under $16.00 - buys me more shares in preparation for the next upleg. I don't contemplate the loss in account value - that will return over time. The I fund gained $0.34 on 2/14 so it is only giving back some recent gains - if I owned it I would hold instead of clucking.

Thanks 350Z very much for the tip about the OEX. That coupled with the fact that the VIX is currently at the time of my writing above it's 200 day average which is 12.79 and which is my stop means I go to the G fund.

I hate to do it. I am so far down. Today shows me how much of this trading is psychological, gotta have the iron will. Lots of adrenaline happening here, time will tell...

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

2/27/07

I fund is 17 to high should be at 2324 at close yesterday. History shows that when this high of an amt occurs, usually takes two days to correct. I am still going to add to my I fund account and if at close today it does not gain the whole 17 pts back, I will definitely add more tomorrow.

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

Down 1.307% or 31.

If GDP comes weak tomorrow, it will reinforce the "recession" thinking/sell-off.

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

True, but what about the revisions the Feds are famous for giving us? I'm expecting upward revisions.

The revision will be for the 3.5% that was reported last month. Most are expecting a downward revision due to lower inventory.

Up days or down days, THIS THREAD ROCKS!
Thanks to all who contribute to it. (in a relevant way, get it Sugar?)

If a true avalanche starts, isn't there a built in timeout to stop major dives in the market? Which would in turn stop any -FV possibilities for todyas closing price?

Circuit breaker rules exist, but no one has seen drops of that magnitude in a very long time:

"trading now halts for an hour, two hours, or the rest of the day when the DJIA drops 10, 20, or 30 percent, respectively. In the afternoon, the 10 and 20% drops will halt trading for a shorter period of time, but a 30% drop will always close the exchange for the day."
