Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

sp500 down roughly 1% since noon eastern. If it stays down, will that be enough for a -FV?

Yeah, it's going to be a big -FV. I'm expecting a -FV of at least 25 cents. It'll probably be more.

Lets take bets on how big the Nikkei will be down tonight.

p.s. My laughters are filled with tears. Nearly 2 months of excellent work goes down the drain in 1 freaking day. I'm gonna go cry some more.:(

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

At least we're not alone. Many TSPers will ride this 100% stocks right to the bottom. I got sucked in for tomorrow on the S fund, since it was still well above the 50 dma at the ift deadline, and still right on the support line going back to May's rounding bottom. It won't hold tomorrow, and then I'll finally be in G the next day, probably right on the next level of support! My tears will continue tomorrow :(

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

Know the feeling well but managed to avoid this one. Patience is even more of a factor now.

That is the one thing I lack at my relatively young and inexperienced age.

As for the Nikkei, USD/yen has falllen big time and is still falling as the Yen carry trade unwinds. The Japanese exporters will be rushing to the exits tonight. That's why I bailed today. If GDP comes in weak and the yen rises again, more Yen carry trades will unwind. These traders will not want to be in the same position as they were last May. But if GDP comes in above consensus, then the markets might rally.

Gettin worse!

Don't get fooled by any "recovery" from the 500+point low point today. It's still bad tomorrow.

For all the times as far back as August that I've been kicking myself after the fact, it feels good not to be in the I fund right now.

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

The C fund will provide refuge from this storm - the Nikkei might be looking for 15,000 one more time to establish firm support. Rock on and hang on, this could be finished by the end of the week. There is just too much liquidity that will take opportunity of these lower prices.

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

The good news-

The bounce off the 1389 level. That was seven points higher than I expected. And is a support level I had anticipated. If we can make it till 4pm and not retest that level, then that should also act as a brake tomorrow morning in the AM.

I went on the sidelines after today. Looking for some selling overseas tonight. Nikkei has been on fire. There should be some profit-taking afterall it has been up over a week straight. One more day of selling, I will move into the S Fund. Will keep you updated. fwiw or if anyone cares
above was posted yesterday........I had a feeling of a sell-off today;however, not this much. Glad I am in the G today!! Tomorrow,I feel you will have a rally to the upside, buyers will step up on this mess today. I am 100% in S tomorrow...fwiw Now I am beating the markets across the board>>>>

I say, let's make this count.
If we're going to have a Greenspan recession, lets get it out of the way now so the market recovers well before the election.:)

Back in May '06, the USD/YEN fell about 5% before the Nikkei really started selling. Japan was selling off 2-3 days before the USM started selling on May 10th. Today, the USD/YEN fell about 2.3%.
