12%ayear's Account Talk

So, what is going on? Japan is a freak'n drag on the I fund. They are always on the wrong side of a rally and then won't follow through.

Good luck!

Maybe because two days in a row, we had a good rally only to be followed by a quick selling at the end of the day.

Still very early. Markets can be very tricky. Shorts flock and then have to cover if data is good. So hang on tight and wait. I would not be surprised to see the USMs close green. ;)

Hey 12%ayear I respect your opinion and like to see people who aren’t afraid to go against the grain and not follow the herd. Besides if you were right all the time, then we’d have to call you 24%ayear :cheesy:

Should There Be a Fee When Investors Trade?

I also heard of something like that brewing with the TSP. They want to stop the day trading and go back to the old system, where we are allowed to transfer once a month. The adm. costs are killing them. They better allow us to trade or there will many upset customers!!!

I don't think that is true. They were recently talking about lowering the admin fees. They just want to save us from ourselves like a good government does. ;)

Now that they have the L funds, they want to force more employees into using them. Take away the daily IFT opportunity and employees options become very limited. This would kill any trading systems like Ebb Chart, Trader Fred, TSPgo, etc. Also traffic to sites like TSPtalk may dry up.

The only reason why I brought it up was because of that article. They have been saying that of awhile now. Like Tom says, he doubts it. However; if you remember about the TSP loans. Before there was a time, when you could have 3 loans out a once. 2 Generals and 1 Res. with no fees. Then many starting to borrow because the markets was doing well and it was easy. Now they changed it to 2 loans. Only 1 General and 1 Res. plus a $50 fee. Also, you have to wait I think 90 days before you can apply for a new loan, once it gets paid off. My point, is that the TSP can do what they want and we have to accept it. They can easily make new rules. Just think about how much paperwork and money they will save or make.

Open up a Ameritrade account. There are many tools that are free. Postioning is key in making the money. Sell into the news, buy when nobody wants it. e.g. oil stocks were death in the late 90s, they shot up Tech was too hot and many made money shorting them. Gold is another example . I try to find plays that are values, with solid capital in the bank and a great business product.idea. That is why I was looking at IRBT, they also make Scoopa the vacuum, but robots are the wave of the future. Look at the Post Office. But there are a ton of stocks. Remember Taser or Travelzoo........shorts though is was easy, but the thing was the float. The smaller the float the bigger they run. both ways.TZOO was 5 bucks and shot to 110 I think.

The markets are long overdo for the downward spiral. The business cycle is coming to a head. Like I said before ,I strongly believe that we will be in trouble 2008. The signs are brewing..bad real estate sales, slowing consumer consumption, bad lending practices, dropping real estate pricing(this causes homeowners not to borrow),service industry is also getting hit. Remember China's market is way overbought and that is another huge problem to boot. We also have never experienced a Global meltdown which is possible. Europe has been on fire for years. They have not corrected. Also, many forget of terrorist attacks that would kill the economy. It might be time to pullback a tad and become less aggressive and more conservative.
