Thanks for the visit, my friend! No, I finally put my foot down and said they could have some or they could have NONE.;) Although I've got to spend the first two weeks of February in Texas ....

Love your blog, J. Keep up the good work!

I switched my TSP account from 50 C 50 S to a more balanced 30 C 40 S 30 I today because the Chaukin Money Flow indicator on the charts appears to be saying that $ are flowing more into C and I analogs than the S analog now.

When I made my interfund transfer there were several glitches in the program that kept throwing me out and I had to log in three times to get my transfer request completed. After I was finished with my request I got the invitation to the TSP beta site. This is what I said when the review asked for my comments:

"New website is okay. Old website was okay too. So I'm not happy about the dollars spent to upgrade. In the final analysis those are my dollars you're spending. I want less dollars spent on fluff and more dollars spent on figuring out how to give me more than two transactions a month."

Like it's going to do any good ....

Great comment Lady, Thanks.

+1, well played. :)

I'm using my second IFT today to move money out of I and into F. The dollar keeps showing its strength which is going to continue to have a negative effect on the I Fund.

And the recent volitility has made the trendlines on my personal charts cross to the downside. So time to move some of my funds out of the market and to safety. It's been a good ride but I'd better protect what is left of my gains.

At COB today I'll be 30% G, 20% F, 15% C, 30% S and 5% I Fund.

If I'd have moved ALL to safety instead of SOME, I'd have still been in good shape. I should have remembered that old saying about bulls and bears can make money but pigs get slaughtered.

At COB Monday I'll be 20% F and 80% G.

And a big thank you to all the MB friends who have contacted me asking why I've been so quiet and offering their good wishes! :) The truth is that my last big trip combined with the holidays put me under the weather a bit. I'm feeling better now but I'm also getting ready to go on another 5-week travel spree. Yeah, I know they promised to lighten up on my work assignments. But I keep telling myself that it's good to feel needed. :D

Yes, XL-e it is good to feel needed. Just remember that they asked you to come back because they didn't plan well enough to fill your shoes when you left.

I am just a gloomy Gus today.

Of three of the recent retirees I have mentioned in posts that have come back as contractors, one is thriving as a consultant on recent issues, one is being pulled 47 different ways at once and one IMHO has a GAS factor in the minus numbers.

The one being pulled I recently had the privilege of hearing being chewed out by his boss for not completing project A or B. The day before I heard him directed to go do new project C, which he did. I guess he should have cloned himself to do A and B as well. Turns out C was only important to management at the moment and now that it is done, it is his fault A and B are not completed. His attitude is pretty good under the circumstances. Something like, “if it gets too bad, I'll terminate my contract, what are they gonna do, fire me? And consider the source (of the chewing out)”.

The one with the bad GAS factor has had most of his supporting players taken away and is making decisions behind the scenes that effect a lot of us but aren't publicized until one of us violates the new rules. Then of course the e-mails fly around stating how bad we are because we violated a rule that no one knew about.

Best of luck. Remember it's “me first” as far as health vs. work.

They're lucky to have you Lady !

5 weeks is a long time; especially with the pressures of your job and having others monitor your every little move.

I know you'd mentioned before that others are really good to help you .... lift things and stuff to keep the flare ups down ... :worried::sick:

BUT -- you really should do your best to keep the 'Aqua Therapy' going while you're there.

So please stress that I recommend: DAILY AQUA THERAPY !!!

And if they ask who I am --- then act kind of surpized -- like you haven't heard of ....

I'm currently 20% F and 80% G. At COB today I'll be 80% G, and 10% each in C and S. But I'm really doing the IFT more to get the $ out of F. I don't think I would be moving into C and S if I didn't have to use that IFT anyway. Darn IFT restrictions.

FWIW,
Lady

C and S are delighted with whatever you're willing to give :) and you're giving twice as much as me :cheesy:

Would be great to see a Post or 2 --- anywhere -- on most days :worried::cool:

Thanks, Steady. I just got back from an extended assignment, and have to leave again in a week. In the next 12 weeks I'm going to be on travel status for 4 weeks total. The hydrotherapy is all that is keeping me "afloat." :toung: I'm trying to be around often but it's usually in lurker mode. :o

Yesterday Carl Swenlin's DecisionPost, one of my go-to's said:

"Last week we were looking at a bearish reverse flag formation, but this week prices broke above a short-term declining trend line, effecting a bullish resolution of the flag and changing the short-term outlook to bullish. ...The negative side of the picture is that volume accompanying the breakout and subsequent advance only has been averaging about 85% of the 250-EMA of daily volume, which does not reflect broad confidence in the move. This, plus other evidence we will discuss, makes me think the breakout could be a bull trap. ..."

Does that mean I'm moving to G? No. Does that mean I'm nervous. Oh yeah! :o

Lady

Still 80% G, 10% each C and S. I'll be gone next week on travel status again. I'm thinking of leaving the S where it is but moving the C into G fund. Or maybe going 80% G and 20% S. I'll have to see where the next hour's action puts the moving averages.

Lady

So after studying my charts, the only moving average cross I saw was a golden cross (that is, cross to the upside) in F Fund. S Fund averages are doing much better that C Fund's averages. And since I'm not going to be able to watch the markets next week, I'm going to use my second IFT to move some $ to the less volatile F Fund. At COB today, I'll be 80 G and 10 each in F and S.

You're right, not much risk there. But everyone already knows I'm a chicklet. :cheesy:

Lady

At this point it appears the Markets are aware that we're watching them ~~ and they're trying to kill us with boredom.

I'd a thousand times rather it takes a huge dive -- so I could go in for a bounce -- or finally take off ....

.....patience.... if you have a little extra .... that's what I need :cheesy:
