Glad your back. I miss your posts. My weekend was fine. I'm retard so today does not count for me.

Hi gang!

Just got back from over three weeks on the road. Yes, you read that right. And if you know me then you also know the kind of shape I'm in right now. :o I've explained to my boss that this isn't ever going to happen again and I think we've reached an understanding with each other about what I can and can't do from now on.

So I should be around my MB home more often now. Good thing, it was getting really dusty in here!!

Re my TSP allocation, I'm still in 26% C and 37% in both S and I. I haven't discovered a 'bravery' pill, I just haven't had the time to change my allocation!

Hope everyone is having a good holiday weekend!

Lady

Hi Lady

Don't let 'em try to work you to death.

I am noticing in my small corner of the fed world that the people brought back as "part time contractors" to continue the job they retired from are constantly having more put on their plate until they are working 50-60 hour weeks.

The last one I know of who discussed the health implications with his boss was told his contract would not be renewed and he was welcome to leave immediately. He did leave and of course the project he was working on suffered (he was he only one working on it so read ceased), but hell, who needs up to date engineering drawings anyway. Let the blue collar worker trace the wires hand over hand and then yell at him because he's behind schedule.

Of course, what do I know? I have been told many times by the fully entrenched general schedule hierarchy that I am not a "real" federal employee.

Promise promise promise to do more with less people and let the bonuses flow in. Many of the write ups I hear read for awards (for all of us, not picking on GS here) should include the statement "The fact that the project was over budget, behind schedule, poorly planned and a total disaster should not detract from the merits of this award"

As I am fond of saying, the 12-15s and SES peeps are just doing their job.

Looking around me I am not really sure that 12s and 13s actually supervise anyone anymore.

WHEW! End of rant!

Good luck Lady, you have an edge in that they asked you back cause they had no one else to do the J.O.B.

Excuse me for hijacking your thread for my rant.

Hey Lady,

Glad to see you are back. Get your rest, I know you must be hurting. :worried:

Been back in for 5-6% and loving it the past feew months....I stayed off the tracker this year to remove some self-indulgent stress and it has worked!

Tell the Big Bad Boss to relax and let you turn in some real quality work!

Take Care

Wow, gang, thanks for the welcome home party!

Nasa, your quick welcome sentiments made me feel much better. You always know the right thing to say, M!

Alevin, your PM and visit were both much needed reminders of my MB friends and I thank you. :)

Handballer, yeah, I thought I was retired too. It didn't take long to get right into the grind again.

Because PessOptimist nailed it. I was brought back to assist a couple hours a pay period to mentor folks. I ended up doing it myself to the tune of 60-80 hours a pay period. I finally had enough of hinting to my boss that it was too much and had a frank talk stating that they could have me a few hours a week or no hours a week. I love the work but if my body could hold up to this kind of work schedule I'd have never retired in the first place. They promised to cut back on my assignments. We'll see.

You have been so incredibly missed by 'all of us'

I hope somehow the space in your home has opened and all of you are finding life together as 'fulfilling and stress free' as possible.

Welcome back Lady !!

Steady

Steady's welcome message reminded me that I have been incredibly remiss in not reporting to you a big blessing in my life. My extended family was able to find a job in this area, so they are living by me but not with me, so its the best option that could have happened. Don't know how long that job will last. But for now I'm enjoying the little grandchildren, and then sending them to their house when it's nap time! :D

Steady's welcome message reminded me that I have been incredibly remiss in not reporting to you a big blessing in my life.

AND of course we know where ALL BLESSINGS have their source ;)

Especially the BIG ONES

My extended family was able to find a job in this area, so they are living by me but not with me,

I take absolutely 'no credit' but have been praying for this quite a bit since you'd mentioned your cozy home 'made for the 2 of you' :)

That is better than 'Good News' - even better than 'Excellent' or XL-ent  as we've come to call it.

I have also been 'Blessed' and life is wonderful Lady !!!

so its the best option that could have happened. Don't know how long that job will last. Makes no difference -- enjoy the day and seize the moment !! But for now I'm enjoying the little grandchildren, and then sending them to their house when it's nap time! :D

Lady

Well - no offense - but I'll mark you off my list

Are you still holding 3M? I bought a roll of duct tape to help you out! :D
Thanks, J, yeah I need to get over to EFTTalk and update my account but that's one of a whole list of things I haven't gotten to yet! I did shift some money overseas into ESD and EWX but my main portfolio looks the same.

Take care,
Lady

XL-entLady showed me this a while back over on ETF talk. Sometimes it's better to use lines instead of candlesticks because with lines the the trend is easier to identify. :)

Looking at the pattern of the markets lately, I'm going to lighten up a bit on my equities, especially S Fund. Going from 26% C and 37% in each of S and I funds to 40% G, 15% C, 10% S and 35% I.

I may be bailing too soon  but I'm trying to protect gains.:)

Lady

I'm back from an extended business trip and am moving from the Garage back into the markets a bit on this down day. At COB today I'll be 45% G, 35% C, 5% S and 15% I.

The 5 day-15 day crossover I watch for signals told me to get back into the market 8 business days ago. But I didn't because I was leaving on this trip and wouldn't be able to watch the markets. If I had moved at the crossover I would have made 5% more on my TSP account. Of course if I had moved then the markets would have tanked instead of moving up like they did.;)

And I'm home and being able to rest now. So life is good. :)
