Confused... thought the T+3 didn't day trade???

That's the intent.

It updates its forecast daily.

For example, based on Monday's action, it forecasts 3 up days in a row.
News happens, or whatever causes the markets to move...happens.
Tuesday, it forecasts 3 down days in a row.

Preliminary results show the system staying long, but it's forecasting a down day on Monday for GDX. I'm always asked, "Why would it stay long if it forecasts a down day?"

Since it is already long, and the trading day after next (Tuesday, in this case) is forecasted to be a higher high (either open or close) than today's close, it will stay long. "Why?"

This behavior is more likely to keep the system in a trending market and helps to keep it from trying to fade a trend.

Probably. That sort of thing can throw the forecast off as it uses the HIGH and LOW of the day in its calculations. But, it has been showing itself to be pretty robust/stable. But, if the forecast were to be in a "borderline area," it can change things.

Performing another update this weekend.

Updates are both good and bad. Good in the sense that something gets better or fixed. Bad in the sense that something was not optimal or was broke.

The updates are becoming fewer and further in-between. That's a good sign. But it means rebuilding all matrices over again. The GDX model will be ready by Monday morning.

The updates lately can't make the system worse...they either involve deriving new inputs or a correction to the logic.

I always find it interesting, when I first do an update, to see if the new forecast differs from the previous.
