uscfanhawaii's account talk

Don't mention this to them, they will stop it. PLEASE! DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No more discussion please.

I can't believe they don't know about it.....oh, wait, this is the FTRIB we are talking about!
Mums the word....lips are zipped!

Maybe we are moving over to being the 'smart money' ?!
I wouldn't worry about us becoming the smart money because I am participating in the survey this year. I didn't last year because I figured I would jinx it. This year I figure SS is already broke so it can't hurt. :D

I don't know, but did you see that Tom also picked up on the big difference between our SS and the larger AIISS? ours says BUY (just barely), but the larger survey is WAY over in the SELL column! Something to consider going forward.

You really can't compare the two sentiment surveys equally.

The AAII survery is based on the question, where do you think the market will be in 6 months?

The TSP Talk Sentiment Survey is where do you think the market will be next week?

I look at it this way, the our SS is short term, AAII is intermediate to long term.

The AAII Investor Sentiment Survey measures the percentage of individual investors who are bullish, bearish, and neutral on the stock market for the next six months; individuals are polled from the ranks of the AAII membership on a weekly basis. Only one vote per member is accepted in each weekly voting period.

Interesting. I was surprised when I didn't have to log in to vote on the SS yesterday. Do you know if some kind of URL filtering is performed to limit multiple votes? It's scary to think a rougue voter could totally change the results.

You must be talking about the TSP Sentiment Survey, as I log on to the AAII website to place my weekly votes? Only registered members can vote.

For the TSP Talks SS, Tom will have to give an answer on this one as I don't know.

I didn't respond right away in case Tom wanted to jump in....but one time I went to put in my vote for the TSPtalk SS and the mssg came back that I had already voted! (I had forgotten whether I voted or not, so I went ahead and tried it.) So it must track URLs or some such...you don't have to log in as best I can tell. :suspicious:

Sorry for any confusion. Yes I was talking about the TSPtalk Sentiment Survey. Last week was the first time I participated, and I'm glad to hear there is some kind of check in place to make sure we don't vote twice.

Wow... here I was ready to make a "Risky" emotional move of all in... I was forgetting why I signed up for a premium service....Thanks for the link!

you mean about the AAII sentiment survey? that should not be your overriding decision point. use your premium service, use these boards, use Tom's dailies, and look at the technicals on any of a number of sites. Then decide.
That being said, I am currently 100% G.....:D

Maybe it's just sour grapes cause I am down at #437 on the Autotracker, and I am in G, but this article on 'maybe the current breakout is a fake-out' has some valid points! (with apologies to BT! ;))
Be careful out there! I notice that a big percentage of the AT IFTs lately has been from members jumping into the market. But I am still waiting patiently for the 'big drop'!

OK, OK....its now 1 month later and the 'big drop' never came. I went in 50% this week cause the 'up channel' seems to be continuing up! Like others on these boards, to me it doesn't seem like the financials support a 14% climb since the beginning of the year, so I am only going in half. When/if the drop comes, I can put in the other half. But until then, I will have to be satisfied with #648 on the AT. :worried:

I am ready to make my 2nd IFT for Feb. I patiently waited for the 'drop' that did not come and now I am a humble #614 on AT...but rising slowly! :D TSP Wealth (Thrift Savings Plan - create prosperity with TSPWealth.com) has been all in all 2012, and are now switching more to the I fund. Sentiment Survey Fund has been in S all year. LMBM has also been in. Now JTH is testing the water! So come on, Chess Guy, Andercee, LAT, Widget....waddaya say?! Let's go for it! Monday is looking like a good entry point. (So, John Ross, your system change back to BUY yet?) I tell you one thing...if someone had told me on Jan 1 that there would be folks on the AT at 15% by end of Feb, I would have laughed in their face. 15% by year end, yes, but not by end of Feb. So cautiously enter...but be ready to pull the plug at the first sign of trouble!
