Uptrend's Account Talk

You need to start reading the headlines like a fund manager. We're going to continue rallying on bad news because bad news means rates are staying low for a long time. The time to start worrying is when Bernanke says he's considering raising rates next fed meeting due to a bounce back in the economy.

This recovery isn't about Main Street.

Here's more Bear Food for Main Street that is really just more Bull Food for Wall Street
-Two former Bear Stearns hedge fund managers were found not guilty of fraud, a decision that could make government prosecutors less likely to bring criminal charges against Wall Street executives for their role in the financial crisis.

well put, bullitt!

I'm not buying good fundamentals. I'm buying fear and skepticism knowing that a huge carry trade is underway and that Main St will chase the prices up several quarters from now when things are obvious and pretty.

So, lets say hypothetically monetary policy, fraud and corruption drives the markets. And the PPT? Why do the /ES S&P futures routinely make a jump druing the night most every trading day while most traders are sleeping? For example, last night the /ES futures made a big jump between 1-2 AM with much greater than normal volume. Does the PPT work the night shift? Is this our tax payer moeny? Some kind of manipulation reigns.

I certainly don't know all the "ins and outs" of all this, Uptrend, but, while yer analyzing, a lot of us are ridin' the "fear of the Dive", and growing our retirement accounts with enjoyment. Come on in, the waters fine. I usually trade on the bollinger as much as anything.....and make decent profits.....nobody makes a 100%. Too much other stuff to try and understand, and it's usually 50/50 opinions anyway. Keep it simple :) But, then, maybe I'm just a simpleton....but, a profitable one. : ) : )

Lobo :)

Sounds like someone is buying it up.

That wouldn't be bull manure....would it??? Heh Heh :)
Today would be Calf Manure, but YES world markets are open at different hours around the world, but we all know that. Dung Beetles don't care what time it is or what kind of Poop it is!:D

Dare I say it? Dung beetles DO care! They care how fresh and potent it is, me boys. How do I know? there was a brief several months time in my young life where I literally had to race the dung beetles to freshly dropped poop (I'd watch for the drop then went to go get it-sometimes the dung beetles beat me to it-in minutes even, nothing salvageable, (its called a wildlife food habits research study, you guys, alright?)

Yes, we 'ologists do odd things in the name of science-not odd to us, just to non-interested types-ie ROW. I'm sure there are others out there who are bashful about some of the things they've done in the name of the job too. :cheesy::sick:

You're a woman after my own heart...as I am sort of a self proclaimed naturalist and enjoy what nature offers us to observe and appreciate....I'm known around the office as the bug man....While we are on that subject, I especially like to do a one on one in depth study of the Birds and the Bees.... you?

AMEN !! Brother ;)

Watched 'The Great Escape' over the weekend and you looked good. I said,'Hey there's Bullitt' and Carrie said, 'No it's not that's Steve Mc Queen':cool:

If I were a fund manager, I would have a large banner above the desk in the office that says "Capital Preservation is King" And I probably would not even read the news - just review charts, becasue that is the news.

Trading near the top of a over valued market is risky and IMHO not real good money management. But, I am not a money manager, as I am still in boot camp. Who knows, a reckless approach might be right for some. However, I am on a reckless rebellion. Not that it will make the most money in the short run, but it sure lines up with stewardship investing, or reduce risk or put risk/reward in your favor. A TSP one day delay sure does not put risk/reward in your favor, if there were a sudden crash out there. If wall street wants to be fool hearty, let the fools play. Why drag me into it? I know, so they can fleece me dry when they suddenly turn the market on its head.

If you look at the 'number' of his last post...:worried:

.....you'll see why it's considered 'The Great Deceiver'

HA HA Very funny! Evil 666 Fun with numbers
  • φ/2 + sin(666) = 0. (φ is the Golden Ratio)
  • φ(666) = 6·6·6. (Here, φ(n) is the Euler Totient Function)
  • 666 = 16 - 26 + 36.
  • 666 = 2² + 3² + 5² + 7² + 11² + 13² + 17²
  • The first 144 decimal digits of π sum to 666.
  • The first 146 decimal digits of φ sum to 666. (new, found by Ilan Honig)

Look at this chart. Appears to be an ending diagonal with a SPX 1124 target (near 5), which is exactly a 50% fibonacci bear market retracement. That is where the touch points on the top channel are pointing. Might kiss the 20 ema first coming in at 1072, before heading on up there to 1124.

Not trying to panic anyone, but according to EWT, an ending expanding diagonal pattern is rare and can reverse hard. Target would be the base coming in at 993. This ending diagonal might also fail and reverse anytime. At any rate be alert for sudden drops in the next so many trading days.

There is a Fall Coming

There is a fall coming, it's around the bend
It's pure nonsense to think the market is on the mend
There is a fall coming, I dont't know when
Just IFT to S, so you will have nothing to defend

Wall street has gone totally insane
Traders making huge profits, while the street is in pain
What are we going to do to fight back?
Put out money in C and S, so the wolves can attack?

Driving the market up is part of the plan
Get on board, get your head out of the sand!
Ride this wave, it's a beautiful day
Put your money in C and S, it's time to play

There is a fall coming, it's not far away
The F fund tells us that, every day
So be a good steward or be a fool
Play in the giant casino, you have got to be cool.

Be number 1 on the tracker board
Go away for months and be adored
Buy and hold that is what they say
There is a fall coming, it's not far away
