Thanks for the IN/OUT dates, TSPIntel. As a point of clarification, are these before noon dates so you would be in/out of the S Fund on the following day?

Before 11:00 am Central Standard Time (CST) or before Noon Eastern Standard Time (EST) on those dates... remember to be cautious using those dates... :)

I am exiting the S-Fund on 7/31/2014 before 12:00 AM, EST or before 11:00AM, CST.
My Next Enter is on the S-Fund on 8/7/2014 before 12:00 AM, EST.......... :)

Ok, a newbie here who "lives in a state of confusion" with the in and out activity before 12:00 EST. I understand TSP states;

"An interfund transfer requested before 12:00 noon, Eastern time, on a business day will generally be processed that night."

My question is: When does this transaction actually occur? Because in the past, I've had instances when initiated an IFT before 12:00 EST and not been beneficiary of a move. So I concluded the transaction occurred after the daily fund settlement. Please help me with my understanding. For what it's worth, I am currently 100% G Fund and personally think the market is over bought.

What, the IFT didn't occur at all or it occurred a day later than expected? If you IFT before noon eastern time it should go into effect at the end of that day so you are in the new allocation at the start of the next business day. Yes, the transaction occurs after the daily fund settlement just like a mutual fund. That essentially is what our index funds are.

The IFT occurred a day later than expected. Thank you for answering my question that the IFT transaction is posted after the daily fund settlements.

U Welcome. It is my understanding that we need to submit the IFT before 12:00 EST to be effective by Close of business 4:00pm EST. Wish U the best of the luck on your IFTs... :)

It was kind of funny to see everyone running scare to the G-Fund today... while we did it yesterday... very peacefully... and cooled calculated move...

hope someday I learn to be so too... and perhaps everyone develop the confidence to follow the signals like U.... :)
Remember to enter on New Moon 8/25/2014 before 12:00am EST and exit a Day After Moon 1st Quarter 9/3/2014 before 12:00 am EST :)

Does your system ever make a move into the C fund, or move to a 50/50 split between the S and C funds?

KK: I loved and I have made $$$$ on the I-Fund but the European economic growth does not look too good now with Russia upper hand on the resources supplies for Europe... and it may cause some market shaking on the I-Fund, in my opinion the US market is the best place to invest at this point. I also have made $$$ on the C Fund... but Historically, FROM December TO June the S-Fund OUT PERFORM the C-Fund then in July the C-Fund OUT PERFORM the S-Fund... End of August to Beginning September the S-Fund OUT PERFORM and then the C-Fund OUT PERFORM all the way to December... I will share with U the compressed 50 years chart of those indexes... and I will develop and share with U the dates for the C-Fund as well if U prefer to do C-Fund. I seldom split. I belief it is a non-sense to do so. I invest on the Fund that shows it will give the MAXIMUM return at that particular time. why to split? :) Remember the C-Fund follow the S&P... Symbol SPY instead of the S-Fund which follow the Russell 2000... Symbol IWM for the Roth IRA and any other brokerage account... Our Friend Crammer strongly recommended yesterday Friday to use an IRA account instead of 401K account... in my case instead of TSP... I did an In-Service withdraw to an IRA account early this year and I continue contributing to the TSP and the agency keep matching the maximum amount... so far, I am a very Happy Camper having Full control of my IRA account and still utilizing the TSP vehicle for retirement as well... :)

:D I'm glad you are a happy camper. I'm also thinking about doing an in-service withdrawal when I'm eligible. I still am doing my homework, learning the art of buying and selling with my Schwab account, and researching different dividends to buy when I can control my TSP account. I hope I'll at least have earned a B in investing by then.

So, what do you think of this event on the 27th, my favorite martian? Do we double down, with the double moons?

KK: The Mars Gravity will do some neutralization per say, to the Moon Gravity effect on Earth People Liquid Hormones. The Total Phenomenon would have an inverse effect on the emotional ties of the investors and the market reaction should be Bullish for few days till the Full Moon effect takes place on 9/5. It definitively would cause some volatility and confusion and re-adjustments on the emotional liquid hormones on the investors all the way to the next New Moon and specially passing thru the manipulation of the stock options market by the market makers specialists due to the triple wish, 3er Friday end of the quarter. Challenging times to surf the market, considering also the Geo-Political, Russia, the Fed reactions....... nevertheless, I am moving to the S-Fund on tomorrow the 25th and moving back to the G-Spot on the 9/3 as the planned dates. :)
