TSP Talk Silver Coins / "Rounds"

I went back thru ALL the posts on this thread, and I found quite a few 'sleepers' who did not reaffirm orders, and some more that said they were interested but for one reason or another, were not ready to commit. Also, there was some confusion (mine?) over how many coins are in a sleeve. There are 20. Confirmed. So please, when confirming your order, just put down the total number you would like. multiples of 20 will come in 'sleeves'.

here is my list of maybe's and ifs:
20? Danny
20? RMI
20? Rechargs62
20? SWAVET
6? Sensei
20? BooDog
?? DreamboatAnnie
?? Kona Kathy
?? Birchtree (if his brother returns his silver quarters)

Total not yet confirmed: >106?? That would bring us to around 400!! :D
So if you are on the 'maybe's and if's' list, please confirm or deny amounts.
And if you are not on either list, there is STILL time to join!! Come on in!! It's the  thing to do!!

Here is the final design that I've approved. The order is moving along...

So the Design is IN!! C'mon you 'maybe's and if's', confirm your order intent!!
And JTH and Weedhopper, I see you 'Liked' the design......So how many would you like to order?!? :D :D

I'll PM the "maybe's and if's" once we get the coins in. If they pass, more will be available for the rest of us.

At this point I'm not too concerned about who orders after that. I'll make sure everyone who did place a tentative order gets it for the price we paid ($15.92 spot +$4). After that I will make them available to buy for spot + $4 (or $20, whichever is more), and if they don't get sold, I'll have some nice silver coins. :)

If we sell all 500, then I'll just order more and sell them for spot + $4 again, and possibly with the $16 + $4 minimum if silver doesn't tank.

Thanks for all your help!

Thanks for the good words, Burro!! I was just trying to help keep it going so it would regularly show up in the 'Recent Posts' list!! :toung:

Thank you for the offer, but thank you even more for starting this all up! I think TSP rounds are a really cool idea!

So now that you have buttered me up....I guess I really have to deliver!

So here's the most current tally:
30 burro
10 alevin
10 bmvenue
25 rlundy
70 tsptalk
30 uscfanhawaii
50 james48843
25 bronco07
20 boghie
20 travelingman
= 290

Please put me in for 15. I love the design! :)

Thanks for the poke uscfanhawaii... Please remind me when you all anticipate the payment will be due... as I have to fit it into my plan... I buy silver constantly and have maxed out my Dec budget with all these lower prices and Christmas rounds. Still waiting for the last of my 2014 dated Maples to arrive! My plan for 2015 is to switch to buying at least one gold 1/10 oz. Eagle or Maple each month.

For now I'm good with making one more commitment for a few TPS Rounds, just need to know approximately when to figure the amount I want to reserve.

reserve now, pay when available, maybe mid-febraury.

it ended up looking rather generic and 'clunky' or else too cluttered. not everybody was a fan of the scored reverse/divisible rounds feature.

i think the final design turned out pretty good.

Now I need to put tin sheers in my "black-out box"

there is no need for shears. notice that the reverse still has marks around the border at each quadrant. just line up your buck knife along these marks and smack it hard with the butt of your gun. instant score. silver is a softer metal than the blade of a knife. you already have a good knife and gun in your bug out bag, right? any item worth carrying in that bag better have multiple uses, including silver.

i'm not sure when or if tom will cut this off at some point, but the further we get away from the original purchase date the less likely it becomes that anyone can buy tsptalk silver at $15.92 +$4.

think about it: within 48 hours of locking in 500 ounces of silver at $15.92 spot, the market tanked to $14.15. i don't know about you, but $885 is a lot of money in my world, just to get tossed up and down in market gyrations out of my control. i like roller coasters but that must've been one hell of a gut check, plunk down 10 large and watch it turn into 9 overnight, wheeee! if i bought at 15.92 i would never sell at less than 15.92. and if silver goes to 20.92 that's what i'd sell it for, maybe, +$4. so there is nothing to be gained by waiting and speculating. if silver drops tom holds it. if silver appreciates tom bought low and sells high. that is how markets work. tsptalk absorbed all the risk, recognize.

with danny and dba we are at 325 pledged coins. tom has no obligation to sell at 15.92 to anyone who was not on that list when he made the original transaction. he has no obligation to anyone at all in fact, as nobody but tom has spent any money. if i got a monster box of silver in the mail and was staring at 30+ pounds of silver, i have to be honest here and tell you i don't think i would part with even one coin, and you'd have to talk real sweet while you pried it out of my hand.

so if you want some hurry, but if i was tom i think i would not want to sell very many of them because they are cool and they are silver and i would have other plans for them and want to keep so many for myself. and i certainly would never sell at a loss.

of course if silver tanks and goes to $8 it will be interesting to see who still follows through. my commitment is for 30 ounces at $15.92 +$4 and i consider that a bill due, i just haven't wrote the check yet is all.

and another thing...

i don't even like the $15.92 part. i wish tom had bought at exactly $16.00. $16 +$4 = $20 per ounce x 30 ounces = $600 even. much better. i am not writing tom a check for $597.60, i'm sending him $600 even. if everybody did that tom would get an extra $40 on a $10,000 transaction. after paying for the dies himself, swinging the whole purchase himself, and committing to ship it out individually to interested parties. peanuts. any more nitpicky than that rails against my common sense and makes my head hurt. $0.08 x 30 = $2.40. that's not even enough to buy a 24 oz. can of cheap beer. cheers tom, this one's on me, i hope you don't mind coor's light.

Re: things to do with silver

I wonder if they use the same die cast (is that what it's called?) to make copper coins as well

WTF... What is this all about?

Now I have no idea exactly what I just signed up for and who is obligated to what! I assumed it was 20 rounds at approximately $400 in mid Feb.

Danny

Nice looking coin, but as I posted before, I am not looking to add to my silver investment. I have enough silver coins and bars lining my cloud. :)

Good luck.

Anyone who has already reserved coins will get them for Tom's buy price. Future requests will be at the future spot +$4 or Tom's cost, whichever is more. It sounds like you are locked in for ~$400.

Burro / Tom please correct me if I'm wrong.
