Re: TSP Talk Mug Shots!

i want to change my pledge again. i want to be in for 30 now. that's a full tube of 25 to keep pristine from the mint, 1 for mr. tsp-roullette, 1 for my kid's silver collection, and 1 to carry in pocket to rub and query the investing gods and flip heads or tails whenever i want to make an ift. that leaves 2 left over to bet or barter.

unless i take up golf and use another 1 for a ball marker on the greens, if i ever hit the green. after if i ever take up golf. then that only leaves 1 to play with.

i like the ball marker idea. i will probably actually do that.

Re: TSP Talk Mug Shots!

You know, I was just thinking... labor and commodity overhead is much cheaper here in the middle east... should I see if I can find someone to do the coins here? I know some folks that had their challenge coins done here AND have bought gold and silver bouillon cheaper... just curious

Re: TSP Talk Mug Shots!

You almost had me RMI but then I caught myself. Good thing to, we would have had to put an asterick next to this thread. :D

Certainly worth a quote at least if you can find a place that does custom silver rounds. Stay safe!

Edit: And we'd have to factor in the extra shipping.

Not sure why, I can ship USPS from here as if I was there... there is a DHL place at the NEX mall, so I can look into that...

Re: TSP Talk Mug Shots!

You better ship USPS ! :suspicious: The coin dealer will either send them Registered Mail, or Express Mail. With RM you can insure up tp $25k and the mail does not go through the main mail stream. Registered pieces have to be signed off by everyone who touches the Register sack. A lot safer way to mail valuables. When I got my silver and gold coins they actually came Express Mail ... check them both out. Aren't you mailing from an APO address?

IMHO...silver is going to make a run up to $24 then go way down again. Buy it now, or wait til the end of the year to see what the prices are. I should have sold mine at $40...would have made a killing, but I got greedy and thought it would go up to $50. I'm still hoping it does.

we were at 296 and i upped mine to 30 so i think we're at 300 now. does that chart mean silver might go up soon?

we need 500 to go so we're still short by 200. i haven't done any graphic work yet so i haven't started the deal with the mint yet, but it's getting near the top of my list of things to do, i've been slammed crazy busy at work lately but starting to get a leg up on things now. so i'll try to come up with at least something basic we can move
forward with this weekend.

basically the minimum bulk order is 500, so that's at least a $12,000 transaction without the mint costs and stuff. once we have funding nailed down, someone (tsptalk) is going to have to execute that transaction.

i'm pretty sure if you execute a +10k foreign transfer of funds, especially in the middle east for precious metals, it will be reported and live forever in a database somewhere. then you can forget all about ever getting through the homeland security tsa checkpoint at the airport in a hurry without a strip and a grope ever again. now i don't know how tom feels about that, but i don't know anyone that wants to tick off the irs or hs.

just thinking out loud...

I will not support foreign commerce.

If you employ Americans to make them I am in. I will not allow my money to be used to pay substandard wages to foreign workers. Sorry.

You might want to check the company Burro found, most US coin companies have their coins made in China... Up to you.

So can we have them made by someone in U.S.? How much more would that be? I'd prefer to pay more and have them made here. Not too sure about using any foreign companies.

hello richargs62 and welcome aboard the silver train!

i think it would be right around that $600 mark. i've been waiting until we get closer to our goal before negotiating with mint. thanks for helping us get closer to the goal.

i think we are at 325 now out of a minimum order of 500.

i upped my original 25 to 30 so i could keep a full sleeve intact and have a few to play with.

does anybody else want to go on the hook for a few more to help push this along? once we get to 400 i'll get the ball rolling with the mint and we can start working out transaction details a bit more.

Re: TSP Talk Mug Shots!
