We are indeed moving into Phase 3, I'm glad to see even more progress since this morning. not there yet, but definite progress. But in terms of Phase 2, we aren't out of the woods until no hidden or unhidden dissatisfaction remains, that is a true statement. The Captain reported this morning that at that point we were still in Phase 2. Agreed. As long as one person (or barnacle) on the ship thinks that, we're still in Phase 2.
I stated I thought we were moving into (towards) phase 3 this morning, prior to the Captain's statement clarifying we weren't there yet. But I said what I said, when I saw the offer to step down without intentionally sinking the ship, and the statement was also made that lack of a manager would not necessarily and automatically lead to demise of the club, that it could survive without a manager. that information had not been made available earlier. those 2 statements gave me hope for club survival and so I said.
And I also saw last night that there had been unexpressed concerns about back-to-back nights, and that the true preference by the original requester for either Sunday OR Monday had not been met up til now. That modification of club operation at club member request was met last night by the (now) former club manager. Another step in the right direction that gave me hope. UNLESS there are members that really do want to have more than one tournament night a week, just not back to back. Is there anyone who is unhappy about Monday night being dropped now? I'm fine with it myself. I only ever wanted to play one night, even if there were 2 nights scheduled.
And I like having a managerless club, myself. I think we'll survive, unless lack of a manager makes it difficult to gain new members? If we need a manager to grant admission to new members, we may need to allow for some future modifications of the program, and reopen the conversation if needed. That can wait. for now. the former incumbent got a bit too irritable and high-handed when the members started taking on overt shared-responsibility for OUR club's wellbeing. Still, it's part of the growth process, the ship is still right side up and sailing in a better direction, though I believe too there are still some storm swells subsiding. I also want to believe we aren't in the eye of a hurricane. Cap'n says "Make it so, Mr. McCoy". KO, who's Mr. McCoy? Do we need a Mr. McCoy?
