Why not a good thread for the S fund....looking at the S fund...it returned over 91 percent on its up days for the last year...almost as much as the I fund.....its due some attention, it seems tightly tied to the C fund but performance wise its like the I fund...a good alternative if you want to stay away from the Dollar index and the OSM's.....play her right and she will make it worth your while.....;)

make it sound more like a hot sexy date!!! just joking.

Is there a ticker to track? Also all wise one :D, what indicators are there to folow? What companies are in the fund? If you or anyone can give a little guidance would be appreciated. Something to work on while sitting on the lilly-pad.

Just one more weapon of choice for the mighty dollar..

I follow DOW JONES WILSHIRE 4500 COMPLET (^DWCPF)

Others follow DOW JONES WILSHIRE 4500 COMPLET (^DWCP).

I'm not really sure what the difference is.

The ticker that the S fund follows best is the ^DWCPF on Yahoo....I track this symbol daily to predict the price during the day and is confirmed on the nightly TSP.gov share prices nightly mostly within the penny. The 4500 is basically to keep it simple, not the S&P 500 companies.....its almost everything else on the market.....small caps mostly. It gives you a diverse result when the two markets are not in sync....something of which we haven't seen much of late.

DWCP, DWCPF and EMW all track the Dow Jones Wilshire 4500. Different sites use different symbols for the index but if you use a sites ticker index/lookup find what's in red. Here is a good discussion of the S-fund.

The markets seem to have run into their upper wall.....The Wilshire 4500 reciprocates that opinion and I'm personally looking for a break to start in the next several days...if not today.....overseas markets, dollar, oil , Iran are making it difficult to play the I.....

Due to the good numbers that were annouced today. I expect the S fund to do very well this week.:D

Well Tech, I think the Wilshire 4500 will break thru those walls as you stated yesterday. The US dollar is up, Iran crisis is over, oil trending down, and unfortunately the Japanese yen yesterday was 118.50 and today 119.42.

Merlin,

You have to understand Techy's orientation - he was referring to a break down and not a bullish gap up.

The S-Fund, April 5th Closing.

The good:
The S-Fund is above it's 50 day moving average, it broke through some resistance on Friday. It has a positive SAR, a good trend on the B. Bands, and it's MACD is positive.
The bad:
Still below February's breakdown. Advances have been on low volume. The S. STO has it overbought above 80; actual was 97.51

IMHO: Caution..... At 65.94 a barrel, oil is on edge. Things in the M.E. can change within the hour.
Risk can be elevated or lowered. I think we are in a elevated risk area at this time. For some capital preservation is of primary concern.

Good luck out there and be careful!....:)

Capital preservation is right Spaf....I Ran is running their mouth again, al-Sadr is running his too.....how we let him live and mislead people I don't understand....he continues to be a danger to people around him just so he can hold on to some middle-ages power play.....a gross misuse of religion for personal prestige and power....

S fund should be expected to take a loss with a market downturn....instead of being immune to it....
