Thanks SBR and good luck to you also. Does anyone know any historical data for performance on Valentines Day?? Like will people buying so many flowers, gifts etc.. put investors in a good mood to buy more stocks and drive the prices up.

Well hopefully Paladin is correct and there will be a nice up day and I will jump out if it seems good before the market nose dives again. I see Post made the same move as me so at least the top 2 will either rise to the occasion or crash and burn.

Geez a late afternoon rally kicks the "S" into overdrive. I should have gone with my gut on Monday and moved into it, but hopefully "S" will have another good day and give me time to jump out into better options. My mid week calculations have moved Technician into the lead again with a nice gain off the S rebound, but its still early yet. Happy Valentines Day to All.

Hopefully the S will have a nice afternoon rally like it did yesterday and I will jump out before it drops again. I am thinking of jumping to the lily pad to preserve what I have and wait for another drop before getting back in. Any thoughts on Thurs market?

There may still be an upside, but from the looks of it the S&P is reaching a nice high and after yesterdays performance and todays I am leaning towards it taking a break tomorrow and possibly being up tomorrow. Not sure about the S or I though, they have recovered there losses but I am still thinking they may take a break Thurs also. But hey I just guess abou this stuff, just a hunch but I think I may move to the lily today and maybe back in COB tomorrow.

Ehh well decided to take a chance and went 50%S and 50%I , you can't make money if your afraid to lose it. Besides its more fun to sit here and wonder what the market is going to do for the day knowing you got money riding on it.

Well I guess it would have been better to jump back and forth between S and I this week and make some tremendous gains. I sure would like to see the newspaper for the next day with the current days close, right before noon. That would help me make some decisions on what to jump to next. Anyway I am considering taking the money and run for now and jump onto the lily pad, but I hate to lose out on some good gains and the excitement of being in the market. Any predictions on tomorrow, will the dollar continue to drop and push the "I" even higher?

Sitting here twiddiling my thumbs in the G is so boring.. But I figure I am up 5.31% so far this year and my goal is 3% a month so only about another .7% to go for the month. Of course it would be nice to push it to the limit incase there are bad months ahead. Any thoughts on what the market will do on Tuesday, would anyone think that after a 3 day break people would be more likely to start investing in stocks and push the C & S up. What is the history for after presidents day in the market. :blink:

I was looking for Tom's seasonality chart but couldn't find it. If I remember right, the first few days after Prez.day did not look very good. I know what you mean by sitting in G fund, I hate it too but I know I have to be patient to avoid taking the big hits.

According to the STA: Tuesday is a Bear. Day after presidents' day S&P up 8 of 15 -- 7 Major losses when down.

There are a LOT of our members still in the market one way or the other, so I really hope all you naysayers are wrong! Time will tell.

Thanks to all who gave their knowledge and advice for the last week or so of this months trading days. From Paladins piece it looks like if stocks are doing poorly this week and I is performing well that may be the key. Then come COB Monday look for a move into stocks and hopefully catch a list min. gain for the month. Good luck to all this short week, lots of action coming ahead.

Ok well it appears that the C & S are following the trend for years past, but maybe I will take this time to jump onto "I" and hope it keeps performing like it has. So with that being said 100% "I" COB today.

Boy I am getting hammered this week with that loss on I yesterday. Now need to recover 1.4% by months end to make it to my 3% per month goal. Looks like the I will be up today but would be great to catch a good 2-3 day run in the green for it. Then a possible switch to the S and try and catch the trend that Paladin spoke of for the last days of the month.

That is my plan for now, just hope that "I" can have a few green days to get me back to even at least after yesterday. :blink:
