Should the focus be on the C & I Fund then in your view if you are not seeing as much positive for the S Fund further out?

NOMB - none of my business. Small cap funds are already starting to underperform - it's just not visible yet. Staying in front of the market is half the battle of staying solvent. I always like to try and let the market come to me. Someone is bound to tell you that I've been wrong on small caps for the last year, if not even longer. I don't do anything in a hurry. But change is in the air - you'll see what I mean as time passes.

I'm very optimistic - and feel for those who wait on the side lines when the action kicks off again and the rockets keep climbing. For the weary - they will wait for a substantial correction to hop in, but I doubt the remainder of 07 will provide that opportunity.

I appreciate your input and since we are essentially even on our gains for the year - please feel free to include me in your business. We have a bit in common - I also am more inclined to go in and let the market come to me. My view of the economy in general is very poor, and I feel we are long overdue for a major recession. My credit rating is 832 so obviously my mentality is far from the mainstream.

For the remainder of 07 the corporate mentality (the major money movers) will want to spice up their investments - and the general investors will follow suit. This will create euphoria (which I personally believe is largely unfounded) - but that makes no difference. Once the euphoric mood kicks in the bubble will quickly expand (as Greenspan puts it) - I usually think of it in terms of waves (so from my perspective THE WAVE WILL GROW).

S and I should gain the most, but when 08 starts I will seize the gains and move to G for awhile. At some points I will probably use the Ebb System - and of course I will not post those changes, but on the whole I enjoy doing my own thing. To date I have never lost in any quarter and it is rare I ever lose (even marginally).

I'm sure if I gained back all the money I've lost over the years I'd be a wealthy man - so I just keep trying. It sure does help to have access to tax loss carry forwards - but I use up the remainder this year. Good to have you on the MB.

Thank you it's good to be onboard. My consistent gains relate to the TSP (not my personal investments). Several years back I rode on the mighty internet wave :cheesy: and made so much money in so little time I could not see the wave was about to crash as I rode the crest.

I am still carrying the loss over - and have for years. But in the end it made me a far more cautious investor. If we learn from our mistakes, we turn out even better.

May we all prosper in the years to come.

S had a gain of slightly over 1.5%
C was under 1%
I was less than C

Results:
60%S/40%I advanced over 80%C/20%I by at least .5% -however we both came out winners compared the top spot who had all his in G. (Top spot is the top 5)

sorry should of told you that i went to arizona to see the steelers play and to see my brother and his two sons who i haven't seen since they were born. alex is thirdteen and forrest is eleven,i figured i would be to busy to make the correct moves----i also went there with thirty-five other people from pittsburgh so there was alot of partying going on in jerome and prescott arizonia. i think i made a nice move by going to the g-fund (to bad the steelers lost) i did not lose but gain for that week. that's what counts you gain,don't lose for the week no matter what the gain is. please don't correct the english it's saturday and i am getting ready for the steeler game.

Pogo, I had Dr. F in mind when I wrote my message (not you). If you are in the Top 5 - YOU HAVE A SUBSTANTIAL GAIN OVER ME - and I could not legitimately criticize you (nor would I want to). Wow - the nephews finally got to meet their uncle - I honestly hope you all had a great time! Staying in G when you already have an incredible gain for the year is a smart move, especially when you're going on a trip (vacation ... or whatever) because you know no matter what happens YOU CAN NOT LOSE.

I have just a slight edge over Birchtree - so he is more even territory and our investment strategy is similar as well. My message wasn't intended to flaunt my gain - or say "ha ha" to anyone - it was only meant to give the S Fund its due. When the underdogs (me and Birch) make a major play at a time the Top Spot misses it - IT MAKES IT EVEN MORE SPECIAL. But trust me - your lead is far too great for us to pass you (or catch up).

Ebb is partly responsible for where I stand this year, but he was also in G during some very substantial gains. If I ever gain 1+ % in a day where you, Ebb, or Dr. F are in the G Fund - then it makes me all the more feel like a winner. You guys are in a league way above me. If I went strictly with the Ebb Chart - I would also be in the Top Spot. But I'm still doing fairly decent and for the larger part I can take the credit.

TO ALL WHO READ MY MESSAGES - I do not consider myself superior to anyone and if my gains are higher than yours it is not because I'm better than you - it is because my strategy is different and in all liklihood you take risks at times I wouldn't. Yet in the same tone it is for that very reason I am so far behind the Top. If anyone gains from my advice I am thrilled for you - and hope someday we will crawl to the top. I joined the MB both to learn and to teach.

For now I am pondering Tom's comments about the years that end in 7. It sounds a bit superstitious - and overall I still feel the stain of 7/07 -8/07 has a lot of people anxious to get back in and push the market higher. However strange it may sound, however, SEASONALITY CAN NOT BE IGNORED - and I am considering less stocks in 10/07. I know it is just a piece of trivia - but the losses on the whole are quite remarkable.

How will the markets play out this week????

I feel like I can spare a little - but want to minimize loss as much as possible. Today things look a little more upbeat today so I will probably move to safety for a few days.

If things look OK - will transfer all to G by COB.

Please forgive the confussion. In my gut I see yesterday and today as a brief rest - and a strong market moving forward.

OK - I'm crazy !!!! I look at the quotes far too often and get swept away. With less than a half hour to make any changes the I fund is up very well and S is OK.

So - Seize the GAINS - let the market take a dip (hopefully) and go back in.

60%I/40%S - to 100% G by COB

Haha. Don't sweat it man. See how things pan out with earnings this week and make your decision to get long based on that. AA usually moves trader sentiment in the short term while PEP and MTB should give investors clues into quarterly profits and subprime losses.

With 1 hour to go it appears the markets are flying high

I hope it settles slightly while I'm in safety - cause I sure DO NOT want to miss out on future gains.

For those following my advise - we are up over 2% in just over a week.
