Consumer confidence plummets
This is probably priced into the Market, this is not news, everyone knows Consumer confidence is at an all time low. IMHO

I think you're right Norm - as least to the larger extent.

BUT - Consumer Confidence is not only at the 'all time low' - it is continuing to FALL to new lows month by month with this month taking the New GRAND PRIZE.

So that will form a vicious cycle of the Economy going further down with Markets going down to new lows - and consumer confidence going down even further.

Week after week - we'll all be hearing 'how things fell further than expected' ....

I guess my main point is 'there is no way possible I could see us having a V formation - or even a 'Bull Market' in at least the next 6 months... so at the very best we'll bottom and roll for awhile.

But this is just MHO and nothing more - so I may be way off... :embarrest::cheesy:

All that is need is a little hope to turn this thing around, it's all in the perseption of the condition of the economy, investors are fickle and can turn in a skinny minute!!:D

Very True - we can (and should) hope for the best.

It's easy to get 'depressed' and lose your focus - as I did earlier reading and reflecting on all the reports. Rev. Shark would say things like 'This is just a blimp in the screen' and you need to remind yourself it's a long movie and not get caught up in this one little scene.

I think the biggest problem is that when things are going great TIME never seems to be a factor and we don't give it much thought. But when things are going bad - TIME seems stuck and crawls along like a snail. So it has a way of wearing us down.

ANYWAY - THE MAIN THING IS MAKING THE MOST OUT OF LIFE AND KNOWING IN THE END THINGS WILL WORK OUT.

Obama flavored Kool-Aid????

Too many ways I could respond to this one

am better off not saying anything :D:D

This ain't no disco

..............tthis ain't no party :p

The Bull has taken over and from here on we are flying up so fast that if you're not stapped in ....

you'll fall off

I think we need confirmation tomorrow to call this a turn around. I also think Obama will say the right things tonight, but I'm an optimist at heart! As Tom thinks, we need at least 780 S&P today or it's an inside day. Comon Up BIG FELLA:cool:

Not at all - it's way better to live for the moment and seize the day

Look at the charts - they tell no lies - you can't hide it Norm

So I say 'Screw this doom and gloom s***'

breath in bubbles and blow out silk man - we are entering a new era and for now it's way better to flow with the upbeat momentum

than get dragged down by the nay sayers....

so by golly - I've got nothing esle to do (I'm on the side lines) and GREEN is all I see - day in and day out - you just gotta believe and go with it man ... it's that easy.....

and it's pretty cool.... fun too

With all 4 Funds going down....

I think of 'The Sound of Music'

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things

and then I don't feel so bad ;):toung:

Once in awhile I check the 'Reputation Points' and am over '500'

Wow - thanks everyone - my love (a big smooth) to all of you

I think of Birch everytime I look - no matter what Thread it stems from (or who said anything) because that's about the most wound up I've ever seen him. I mean you have to admit it takes A LOT to shake him. I honestly don't know anyone who is more of a rock.

Well I guess you all can tell I slept pretty well. It took me awhile to wrap my wife's B Day present last night but I set out on the marble top antique cabinet in the living room and it looks good there. Today is light and I'm about to catch up on my charts for the first time in the past few weeks.

So life is good ... well have a good day everyone

Alright Soldiers - TAKE 5 ... time for a little break

Most of the shows I watched as a kid had a song that went with it...

Daniel Boone was a man

He was a BIGGGG MAN

With an eye of an eagle

and a nose of a beagle had he

What a Boom - What a Doer

What a Dream come a Truer was he.

That's right folks - IT'S NOT OVER UNTIL I SAY IT'S OVER..

and I said it yesterday so expect lots of GREEN to come.

The TREASURY is only conducting TESTS !!!

Please remain calm and think happy thoughts and pretend your IQ is less than 75.

They stressed this is only to see if the 19 BIG Banks would be able to handle things if:
1) Unemployment rose over 10%
2) House prices fell at least another 20% lower

This actually makes me laught just writting it...... so I'm now supposed to be totally convinced that they just came up with this really bizarre and almost impossible to imagine senario....

or (and this in NO ATTACK ON OBAMA - the FED, Treasury, and Politicians in general) is this the most CLEAR INDICATOR POSSIBLE that things ARE GOING TO GET FAR WORSE (now you have to pretend your IQ is over 100) and they need to make sure we are ready for things to come

http://money.cnn.com/2009/02/25/news/companies/banks_test/index.htm?postversion=2009022514

Ponder on this for just a minute - and let it soak in...

why are they conducting these tests....then join ME in The Twilight Zone

Very good questions Steady, that equates to about 851 or 697 from 774.

851....

696....

I will have to go with my gut and say 697.

HOLY COW Batman

It's too late to rephase the questions but I simply did not want any wimpy thoughts like 2 or 3% or even 5%

so I what I really wanted to know - what will happen FIRST

A substantial HIKE or
A substantial DROP

SO IF IT'S 7 OR 8% - that cool too ... I just wanted to make sure da pansies didn't jump the gun and say "See I told you .... ha ha ha ha ha"

The market was waiting for Obama to talk, but gave up the ship when he didn't show until 15:55. This was done on purpose folks!

Well I'm going to close up shop..:)

It's amazing that I'm actually caught up :D:D

So let me ask one last question (that sounds like 2 - but they go together)

What makes a Muskrat guard it's Musk??

What do they got that I ain't got?? :cheesy:

MARKET BREAK

You need a break from the charts, the news, the chaos...

When Elvis Presley came out with this song - I honestly believed that every woman alive would be powerless....

that she would totally melt into a love rich world and want nothing more than endless snuggling and affection....

that it would encompass every little shread of her being and I felt up to the task...

SO THIS SONG WAS A HUGE INSPIRATION FOR ME

Love me tender,
Love me sweet,
Never let me go.
You have made my life complete,
And I love you so.

Love me tender,
Love me true,
All my dreams fulfilled.
For my darlin I love you,
And I always will.

Love me tender,
Love me long,
Take me to your heart.
For its there that I belong,
And well never part.

Love me tender,
Love me dear,
Tell me you are mine.
Ill be yours through all the years,
Till the end of time.

(when at last my dreams come true
Darling this I know
Happiness will follow you
Everywhere you go).

Shake loose the bad vibes and let this song work its magic

:) Hi SG,
It's good to read your Balto-eze. :laugh::laugh:

Thanks my friend.

I remain highly optimistic - and for good reason.

http://money.cnn.com/2009/02/26/news/economy/banks_volcker.reut/index.htm

Paul Volcker - the economic advisor is one of the highest respected men alive.

It is NOT Obama - and his experience - it is his ability to pick the best possible people for the job at hand and let them come to life.

Volcher has gotten little attention so far - but watch his influence over the years and see how fundamentally he enacts policies that strengthen the global financial networks and brings increasing strength and stability.

So it's easy for me to be (and remain) very upbeat - because I know more first hand the inner strengths, integrity, abilities and personalities of many key players.

SO IT IS A WONDERFUL WORLD - and the whole world will have to bear the pain of years of corruption and mistakes - but never has the persuit to get things right been more strongly motivated. So as with most things - sometimes you need to go through hard times to get stronger and end up even better. ;)

On the POLL we're a lot closer than I thought we'd be

Majority feels we'll go down 10% first

Despite the way things are 'feeling right now' - I still think we're in for a significant UP first.

WHY? Set up for the biggest PLUNGE to date

To many facts are coming out:
Unemployment claims are sky rocketing - topping 5M for first time
Mortgage rates going up
Durable goods continuing to plummet
Brittish Banks - getting nailed - forced Nationalization spreading...

EXPECT THE GAS PRICES TO RISE
EXPECT THE VERY WORST NEWS TO SURFACE

But if I'm right - we are dealing with one of the Smartest BEARS in history - even beyond the Great Depression...

This BEAR has been dragging us slowly down - and if there is any rhyme or reason to what he's doing...and it's a MALE BEAR...then he knows this is basically his last chance... because everyone is getting so tired they're ready to leave it all and forget it. SO a MALE BEAR would save the best for last... and that means despite the indicators and all the news...he will let everyone think 'the stuggle is over' and we are on the way up.

So what happens if it's a FEMALE BEAR??

Hell if I know  Your guess is as good as mine.

Highly unpredictable - things could change on a dime :worried:
