Squalebear's Account Talk

Way too easy for me to pull that paragraph up and put it here...but that would really ruin everyone's day...and just make me mad all over again. So instead...some entertainment.

Nice Lei ,,,,, I had to google to make sure I spelled that one correctly.
The thoughts behind the above comment were changed to protect the
innocent. ;)

Good afternoon everyone.

Based on the sectors it looks like a good day. I'll be curious to see if we can get above 1255ish and how the last trading hour will pan out.

Good luck to all... ;)

Live for the Day - Good afternoon to you as well.

Based on the overall Posts - I'd say the moods are upbeat and this will undoubted be a day to remember. Let the vibes flow out - come together - get in tune and float in the mystical charm.

EFA = +0.99%,,,,,,,(I) Fund = +0.68%,,,,,,,Some Debt was paid today and
happily resulted in a positive gain today. But the USM outperformed the
(I) Fund quite readily. The O/D Tracker still has the (I) Fund within the
"High" Overpayment area. If tomarrow's market gives us a day like today,
then the Fund Managers may have no choice but to put the Debt Payback
on hold and give the (I) Funder's every penny the EFA gets. But when you
weigh out all the Stock Funds, the (I) is not my fund of choice. Two weeks
ago we saw back-to-back "high" days which resulted in a payback of half
the debt the following day. BUT that was on a day that saw huge gains,
similar to todays action. Like I said, if we have another 2% day in the US
Market, both the EFA and (I) Fund should do well, even with a debt.

CONGRATULATIONS ON A GREAT MARKET DAY FULL OF POSITIVE VIBES ;)

Glad to see the market had a good day, and heck I'm somewhat surprised F didn't lose too much. I honestly didn't think we were going to break 1255 in one day!

The good thing about staying in G for the rest of the month is it gives me more time to relax, drink some beer, and play my guitar. :cheesy:

All things considered, I rather make money. But to you my friend, I must say this; Have One For Me and Rock ! :)

The dollar, IMO, is gaining strength, at least in a relative sense. No reason for I fund, yuck!

Some might think that Europe is always on catch up mode, to what ever
happens in the US, the following few days. To some extent this hold true.
But I agree with you, No reason for the (I) Fund for me. :)

For you chart watchers, a bullish (unconfirmed) pattern developed
yesterday within the S&P500. This would relate to the (C) Fund and
the pattern is called "One White Soldier". What's a little confusing to
me is the Bearish "Head&Shoulders" pattern which also exists at the
same time. Anyone interested in adding commentary and educating
this input hungry investor would be more then welcomed.

If I only had a IFT, I would have moved to US equities.

Repeatedly, the EAFE markets have finished the day with 1%+ and a beign currence exchange rate, then, for whatever only God knows reasons, the I fund comes out low, or negative, and continues the day lossing ground against the US equities.

At least this situation is better than hanging only an equity position at the beginning of the month and losing 16%-20% of your entire retirement, because you don't have a $10 IFT to use when the market does finally go up.

SB - thanks again for the I fund "they owe" "we owe) discounting.

How true, I'd much rather be making some money too. This IFT thing is killing all of us. This TSP Board wants us to buy and pray? For the time being I'm having to forcast out farther and this is hard with all the volitility latley. I've already stopped contributing to TSP and I'm working on opening up a real account.

I don't know if you should stop totaly. Many say to put in (at least) enough
to get that full 5% matching funds. Not many places will ever beat that
kinda of growth. While in a Bear Market, its Hit&Run. The only hard thing
is to pick your "in" and pick your "out". It doesn't always work out the way
you'd like, but you always have the (G) as a alternative. In a Bull Market,
a Longer Term doesn't hurt so much. But more importantly, I believe you
should never give up the matching contributions. ;)

I'll be back later this evening to post the O/D Tracker results.
In the mean time, here's hoping the market rebounds back up.
:worried:

Be careful with S Fund - Buster - Sometimes making too much money too fast can throw an investor into a Manic State.

They start riding high on emotions - feel invinsable - and it's like you've got the whole world in your pocket.

On top of that all these thousands of dollars in your account can make your eyes glazed and plaster on a smile that won't disappear.
