Squalebear's Account Talk

I took 54.92% in the (G) and made it 54%
This took away 0.92% from the (G). While
increasing my 45.08% to 46.00%

I'll have confirmation tonight, but thats
exactly what the IFT authorized me to do.
You are correct, I couldn't bring (G) down
to 49%. That would be more then a 1%
move. Thanks for the correction.

Bottom Line, I took almost 1% out of the (G)
and added it to the (F) while having no more
unrestricted IFT's.
You can IFT into G, not OUT OF G. So I doubt if reducing G is going to fly. You could make G 55%, and if you had money in TWO other funds, move those partials up or down on the same IFT. But I don't believe you can round G DOWN, and another fund UP. The rule is clear, INTO G on #3. Hoping you're right and I'm wrong.:D

They'll be sending me a confirmation email around 10:30pm. I will post the
final outcome then. But know this, I fully expect my IFT to go through as
it was a fractional pull from the (G) Fund. If I tried to pull 1% or more, I
would have received the "failure notification in red" on the IFT web page. ;)

Still, the (I) fund underperforms the EFA. Ain't paybacks a B%t#h.
The (I) Fund has been here before (ie...7/1-7/2-7/3). I'm still waiting
for something new to occur. Something like a jump to the deficit side
wouldn't be out of the question. For now, the (I) Fund still has debt !

SB,

I'm too lazy to go find the thread but I know we've been over this before and I seem to remember finding evidence on TSP.GOV backing up your IFT - even though I'm being contrarian now. LOL! Still hoping you're right!:D

L2R, your the best ! :)

When ever the Dummies send me my email, we'll know for sure.
The previously posted conversation provided for multiple Fund
movements. This time it was just the (G) and (F) with the notion
that I could only move back into the (G). Upon confirmation, I will
post the results.

As always, its nice to here from you ! ;)

Confirmation Completed !
54% = (G)
46% = (F)

Conclusion; when you have used up both of your IFT's (to any fund) and
all you have left is to move your money back into the (G) Fund. NOT SO
FAST ! It is still possible to move (less then 1%) from the (G) back into
a fund through rounding up the other fund and rounding down the (G).
I must be clear though, it MUST be less then 1%. In my case I took
0.92% of my (G) and rounded it down ,,,, then,,,,raised the (F)
Fund up to the next whole percent. With no more unrestricted IFT's left.
;)
54.92% turned into 54.0% (G)
45.02% turned into 46.0% (F)
;)

Medic!! Man down. Man, Barclays -FV really hurt yesterday. The EFA was negative but it didn't look that bad. At least not a minus .45 day. I hope we see a small bounce soon. This bleeding has to be stopped. I would be happy with just some recovery. I have lost almost 3% this month. I just need some relief and then I will go back to "G" and lick my wounds.

Congrats to those that had the extra IFT to move into the "F" fund. Flashbacks to 2007. This is a nightmare and I am trying to wake up. Toto I don't think this is Kansas anymore. (clicking a pair of safety shoes together) I wish I had an extra IFT, I wish I had an extra IFT.

There has been a disturbance in the force. :(

That is why I am like "To hell with it" (I fund). Too complicated. Plus, if dollar ends up rising against other currencies....

But for now>>>>>>>>>>>>

Here's the disturbance and the reason for the -FV:

Here's where the Thrift boards alliance lies, surely not looking out for us.

Medic!! Man down. Man, Barclays -FV really hurt yesterday. The EFA was negative but it didn't look that bad.(-1.60%) At least not a minus
(-2.11%) OR -.45 TSP CENTS. I hope we see a small bounce soon. OIL DRIVING DOWN ON UNEXPECTED SUPPLY, WISH GRANTED. This bleeding has to be stopped. ITS BLEEDING FROM AN ARTERY, YOU MIGHT SLOW THE BLEEDING ON A TEMPORARY BASIS. I would be happy with just some recovery. TIME TO BE HAPPY, BUT DON'T GIVE AWAY THE POSH PUFFS. I have lost almost 3% this month. I just need some relief and then I will go back to "G" and lick my wounds. ALL THE WAY BACK TO JUNE, A DAY OF GAINS HAS BEEN OFFSET BY A GREATER LOSS, THE FOLLOWING 1-2 DAYS. IF THIS IS THE BOTTOM AND ALL THE BAD NEWS HAS BEEN ABSORBED INTO THE MARKET, THEN ITS A GREAT PLACE TO BUY INTO STOCK FUNDS. IF THERE IS MORE BAD NEWS ON THE HORIZON, THEN IT COULD BE A ONE DAY WONDER.

Congrats to those that had the extra IFT to move into the "F" fund. IF ANYONE GOT A EXTRA IFT, PLEASE FIND OUT HOW THEY DID IT. AS FOR ME, THE EXTRA PARTIAL PERCENT INTO THE (F) IS JUST MORE MONEY I'M GIVING BACK IN LOSSES TODAY. Flashbacks to 2007. This is a nightmare and I am trying to wake up. Toto I don't think this is Kansas anymore.THE TWISTER HAS LANDED IN WASHINGTON. SOMEHOW, SOMEWAY, THEY WILL FIND A WAY TO HURT DOROTHY AFTER SURVIVING SUCH A HORRENDOUS ORDEAL. (clicking a pair of safety shoes together) I wish I had an extra IFT, I wish I had an extra IFT. WE ALL DO,,,,,WE ALL DO,,,,,WE ALL DO !

There has been a disturbance in the force. IF ONLY YOU KNEW THE POWER OF THE DARK SIDE. BE CAREFUL OR YOU'LL FIND THE SITH MANAGING YOUR RETIREMENT MONEY.

Gosh I had fun with that ! It's always great when you stop by to say hi !
Please do so more often, Oh yes, Congrats on the day, I hope it holds.

Here's the disturbance and the reason for the -FV:

I want Uncle Ben to get off the witness stand before he blows this uptick.
I also want to see Barclays sitting in that seat being grilled over the safe
handling of the TSP. Congress has a vested interest in doing so. Their $$$
is in there too.

Not to make this more confusing, I'm wondering if with 54% in the (G) and
46% in the (F) for today. If I do another IFT and by utilizing the exact same
percentages, will I be able to rebalance (just like the L-Funds) my allocations
for tomarrow.

BY CRACKY, I'M GONNA TRY IT !

WHATS DONE, IS DONE !

At 11:41am, the day after rounding off my TSP to the below posted
percentages, I was sucessful in requesting a rebalancing IFT by asking
for the same exact percentages. I'm expecting the partial percentage
differences to be redistributed after loses/gains have been adjusted. ;)

So at COB today you would of had something like 54.10G and 45.90F, as AGG is down pretty good today. Keeps your head in the game. :)

Very accurate, as of this minute;
45.88%
54.12%

BTW, i'll put my head in the game, the minute I pull it out of that dark place !

vix chart "ohlc" 5 day

TRYING TO ADJUST SIZE FOR BETTER VIEWING
BUT IT DIDN'T WORK. ANYWAY, THE VIX SPIKED
TO OVER 30 YESTERDAY BUT ONLY MADE IT TO
28.32 TODAY. CURRENTLY ITS HOLDING AROUND
26.24.

Oh well, I'm still learning. Picture appears to be too small.

A final thought before calling it a day.

All Index Funds that relate to the TSP (Stock Funds) are up
between +1.12 and +1.42%,,,,,Even though the (F) is taking
a hit today, I'm happy to see that some of the membership are
seeing a long awaited gain. For me, I'm still in the learning phase
of investing.

My gut is telling me to enjoy todays move upwards. My tracking
is saying something totaly different. This is what I mean;

Going back to May 30th, 2008 we experienced a 4 day positive run
in the TSP. Since then (to date), we've had 6 positive days (many
above 1%). But each and every time, the next day (or two) resulted
in the lose of "more" then the gains received. This is a call for caution
and not a rant concerning a bottomless pit. Hell, this could be the
best time to buy, over the long haul. But it might not be. Risk is high.
No matter what style of investing you prefer, Risk is High. No matter if
your a perma-bull, buy&holder, hit&run, scared bear. It doesn't matter.

Did I tell you that "RISK IS HIGH"?

As always, I wish all of the membership a great day and positive gains.
I'll be back later to give my thoughts concerning todays action and post
my O/D Tracking results. Best of Luck !

SB,

For some reason it would not multi-quote. LOL dude. :D I really liked what you did to me. :D Thanks it looks like today will have a nice bounce. Lets hope it lasts a couple of days. Hope the "F" fund can have some more payback for you also.

I can still feel some uneasiness in the force, but for now may the force be with us.

SB,

Shows how much I am paying attention. Didn't notice that you changed your avitar. It will be interesting to listen to what "inthemoneystocks" has to say tonight. Tomorrow will be pretty tense and will more than likey dictate the market for a while. A good day, or even flat and it feels like it will stay positive until August. A bad day and we better all run back to "G" for protection. Just my gut feeling.
