Squalebear's Account Talk

i'm thrilled for ya squale. An 1894 victorian home would be a never ending battle to keep up -- and would take a toll on ya even if you had it paid off.

god is wonderful squale -- sounds like it was meant for ya.

i sometimes wonder if our big brother is getting a little too much at the lake ... As downsizing would seem a bit easier .... But then the pitter patter of little feet running through the house would be pretty hard to beat.

speaking of which -- how's the precious grandchild doin ??

God is good and he's blessed my life !

Great idea SQ. I wish I could move into a smaller more managable house. Compared to the third world I feel like a glutonous bastard. I would very much like to live the RV life when I retire. :D

Teddybear would coin a phrase from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation !

"Don't mind me, I'm just clean'n out the Sh#t#r" (LoL) !

Glutonous bastard, I think not ! There's nothing wrong with giving your family
the best that you can afford ! After the birds have flown the nest,
It's dinner for two and all is new ! ;)

My wife and I have lived in our RV (36' Class A) off and on but mostly full time since 2005.

It has its ups and downs. Most importantly it takes a certain type of person and a certain type of couple. It's not right for everyone.

It was right for us for the last few years, especially with all the deployments, but now we're ready for a regular home.

Oh yeah, in case you're wondering, you can squirrel away a ton of cash in investments while living in an RV. The flipside is nothing loses value faster than a motorhome. If you get one, buy used and you better steal it, figuratively speaking that is.

Thanks, I origianlly had a vision of buying a piece of property at every base I was at so when I retired I could have places to settle into with the RV. Problem was my wife had lived in a Trailer most of her life and it was a small one at that.

Then 1 day (out of the blue) I bought a 1977 Transvan with the 70s shag carpet and all. I loved that thing but it was old and the AC broke on us during her maiden voyage during the peak summer. Plus we had 3 kids and it was too small for sleeping 5.

With gas prices always going up I don't know if I'll ever get a motor home or a trailer, because I don't have a big truck to pull it with. Here's me putting on my sad face, longing to live the RV life... :(

Hello SB, We haven't heard from you in awhile. Hope the move went well and you and the family are doing great!!

Me too Squale -- in fact I was excited thinkin' you were here.

Squale, I want you to know that I thought a lot about this place last night as I was going to sleep. When you had your heart attack and Kelly made herself known for the very first time - and came to me -- that is by far the greatest thing that happened with any interaction I've had here and I want you to know it really meant so much to me that she linked with me the way she did. You have the deepest and most beautiful wife imaginable Squale -- and I'm thrilled for that.

Your big brother,
Steady

Yeah, I had the same reaction as Steady did. Hope your health is doing better, buddy. Remember to take care of you first, then you can take care of other stuff better. Voice of experience.
