So when is the bottom

Well, if economic instinct is a qualification as indicated by your rank on this message board, you clearly have more than most....I think there will be a few openings for people with those skills.
I agree. Thru some of our postings, I have learned you are skilled in several areas. Or collect un-employement. You deserve it. You worked for it. I have no doubt that you will find something when you are ready. Try not to worry too much. Besides pool season is over. :)

It looks like one day it will happen, but who knows how long that will take. The world leaders just had their summit this past weekend and agreed that each country will have their finance ministers come up with a system for their country that follows a set of guidelines that was just laid out. That's one step in the direction of lining up all of us onto the same sheet. It makes for a smoother transition down the road.
Well, in the meantime, I am staying out of debt and am figuring out ways to pay off my mortgage asap.. Let's hope your signature always remains true.

Thank you Amoeba and wv-girl,

I am not really worried, True I am skilled in many areas.

I understood when Boss said "Paul we need to have a talk" The first thing to go in a recession is luxuries and Swimming pool's are luxuries. I worked for him 9 year's and pretty much topped out pay wise. He said he could Hire 3 guy's at 15.00/Hr for what he paid me. And that was true.

I'll be fine. Financially not a problem but now I have to figure out what I want to do again. I doubt I'm going back to swimming pools.:)

Looks like the market is taking all of my profit for the year. Have to decide soon what to do. Crap!

Well, my new Rule now that we are below the basement:

7500/760

This is my next "major support" line.....I have halted all purchases of stocks and bonds and now I'm fence sitting. I am worried that even my "G" investment may not be safe. I know, I know, but really: Is anything "government backed" safe right now?

Ding ding ding:

Looks like its time again for frixxxx's "major support line of the day"!:toung:

(Hope you have a sense of humor)

My Guess

- - - - - ->> 6,000/700 we'll be close

Is anything "government backed" safe right now?
Probably not... do you trust your government more than your CEO's making $20M/yr

LMAO:laugh:, I was getting to wonder when that post would surface, actually, I expect a small to medium rally tomorrow to keep it as the demarc line.

I think when even big investors start hurting (Buffet), then all bets are off!

Maybe I should start a new thread.....(Place your Bet, Can you get closer to Frixxxx?)

Thanks amoeba, my single cell friend!

Me too, Drinks are on the house

Could be a brief pause until this auto thing is sorted out, but let's all remember, the economy doesn't turn on domestic cars alone....and there's still alot of BAH's (buy-and-holders) who are waiting for one last gasp rally....or the prospect of one.

There is no real pending good news (and some bad job numbers, make that, non-job numbers, today)....so I think the remaining sellers will hold out until this possible emergency Congress session thing happens on 12/2.

But if you do that - take a reality check on whether you think another bailout (this time, for automakers) will work - and even if it does - would that mean a) just staving off bankruptcy, if so, for how long, and b) whether that changes the world? Regardless of the answer, the market has a way of moving on these moments. The bigger question is, if there is any relief rally, will sellers emerge in greater force the same day?

If the answer is no and there's some extreme move upward, let the dumb money pay the price; I still say sell into any rally for the remainder of 2008, especially into the 900's, and certainly at 1000 or more. Sell like there's no tomorrow......

Asia gapping down sharply AGAIN as I write (~7 pm, pacific time, 11/20/08). Congress may have a long weekend if this continues, and there may be nothing anyone can do about it.

(I did say "brief" pause, but that was less than 3 hours)

After "my" demarc break, my next numbers show 6800 DJ/ 700 S&P,

Estimated unemployment numbers on all 3 Automakers:

1,000,000 direct and indirect immediate and a whole slew after that.

If GM fails in December and Ford and Chrysler get that action, watch for some serious movement in their stocks.

Right now, just playing with my "fun" YEN account. I love those swings when all I have to do is ride the waves......

Wow, all those who left support at 8100, picked my demarc line. My charts must be good. I really knew this was going to happen but I only saw 5% tops.....I hope everyone likes the 1% on Monday (best guess).

1% up on Monday - That's my guess!

What the hay....it's free to guess. Preface: I know nothing!

So, I'll go -1% (at least) for Monday. If not Monday....then Tuesday.

Lobo :)
