Show-Me, Lord be with you and the family. A good friend of mine is a survivor, tho was given slim to none for a period of time. Took its toll, but the turnaround came. Hoping for best of outcomes.

May the Lord be with you, my friend.

[no you can't take your dog or cat with you].......Take care!

Off the grid all day, cancer screening. Levels went up and a spot on lung. I'm going in for a PET scan and to discuss possible surgical optins.

Hello TSPTalk friends,

Your thoughts and prayers are wonderful and very much appreciate. We just got back and news is good. PET scan was negative and the spot on my lung is most likely calcification, which for some reason is common in Missouri folks. My cancer team is not taking any chances and I will be going back more regularly to monitor the "spot" via CT.

The not so good news is that I have a lump under my chin that did not show uptake, but concerns my Doctor enough that I will be going into surgery next week to have it removed. The great news is that it is easy to access and will almost be out patient surgery. None the less it will be a surgical procedure and my fifth in this fight.

Please pray that my surgeon and his staff are steady and successful.

My family and I thank you all for the wonderful words and prayers.

Mike

I lost an aunt to cancer, the day i returned from Iraq in 03 i left the airport for the funeral. It was a rollercoster of emotions that week. My wife used to work in a cancer center of the local hospital. I have seen a lot of happy and sad stories when it comes to this. It might be nothing but it's better safe than sorry. I will keep you, your family, and the medical staff in my prayers.

Jeff

The news about your PET scan is wonderful! And you'll continue to be in my prayers. I hope the surgery goes uneventfully, that your resulting pain is minimal, and that healing goes quickly.

Please continue to keep us updated as you feel up to it. We care!

Try not to Worry, You'll be fine. I will pray for you. God Bless. :)

Show-me,

I gave up on prayer way back in 1969. But I do believe in the healing potential of excellent medical care. There are many strategies available to combat these problems so take some time to look around for different approaches and cover your bases. An informed patient is a smart patient. I've been in health care too long to take any one physcian's word as gospel - always keep your options open. May you have the best outcome. Now people don't get on my case because I don't believe in prayer - if I were to share some of my experiences with you then you'd probably understand. I believe in science and the potential of academic research to find cures.
