Sad News - show-me

God bless you Mike! Thanks for sharing your battles! You were a warrior! Took care of your family and really reminded us that every day here is a blessing!

show-me was a major contributor to this forum. His comments and friendship will be missed by all.

Mike (show-me) came across as knowledgeable and wise, so that may be why I always thought of him as being at least 60+ years old. It saddens me to see a long time friend of this community passing at such a young age. I'm glad to hear that Mike got his house in order before moving on. God bless and may you rest in peace, friend.

He was my home state guru. I respected his opinion on the markets, but respected him as a family man much more. He is missed, but never will be forgotten.

Mike, may the Lord bless and keep you till you meet with your family and friends!

I just called the funeral home. For flowers they recommend a local florist but they don't do FTD. I would guess a major credit card would be accepted.

I, too, figured Show-me was a bit older. He was wise beyond his years. A great example to all of us in grace, humility and just plain decency. Gone, but not forgotten. Semper Fidelis, Marine.

MEMORIALS: Highland High School Jazz Band or to the Durham Community Ball Association.

Mike already took care of where the 'collections' should go, just like he took care of his family.

we could all contribute as desired and specify recipient. i think either organization would gladly accept any gift at any time in the near future, it doesn't have to be tomorrow. we could set a cutoff date and then aggregate funds a couple of weeks from now. tom, you have the facilities already established to accept credit card or personal check purchases, would you be the middle man? i'm in.

if we as his friends want to show-mike support at the ceremony on saturday, then we could establish contact with either the funeral home or pastor and i'm sure an email document sent COB tomorrow could be printed and present in an appropriate form with our well-wishes and cares and prayers posted in this thread. if anybody has already made that contact i can make the document and forward it. if not, i could try to facilitate that contact too. i bet the florist could do so as well, but maybe the money for flowers would be better spent on his music or sports intentions.

get ahold of all your tsptalk contacts and post it here by tomorrow. we could send him one heck of a thank you card. he is loved and appreciated by many. let's help walk him home, friends.

I created a PayPal Donate button. If we get enough folks contributing $5 or $10 we should be fine. I'm not sure how much (total) is enough. If someone can let me know what we'll need, I'll pull the page to stop donations once we reach that. Thanks! (I haven't tested it yet since it won't allow me to pay myself.)

TSP Talk - Remembering Show-me

ok grandma, you're in too. you took a tsptalk mugshot at a historical baptist church not long ago. fire up your network. call your pastor and have him call mike's pastor and he will have, know, or find someone we can send an email document to print for our tsptalk card and who will deliver it in person with love. the connection is always there, we only have to reach for it. that is how it works. i'll pm you the email address i'm sending from. i will send our tsptalk card to you or any designee. if anyone already has the connection let us know. i plan to take screen shots of all the posts in this thread and make .pdf and send it tomorrow evening. if anyone knows how to better pull/format then let me know. and thanks tom for the financial sheparding. time to pull together now friends, make it fast. shoulder to the wheel.

the link works. it walks you through creating a paypal account if you don't already have one and accepts credit card donations to buy low sell high, inc.

i'm in.
